This was the cheapest accomodation that I could find within Ann Arbor. The location is pretty good -- right next to Trader Joe's and barely within walking distance (2 miles) from U. Mich. Free breakfast and free wireless internet are provided, though the wireless signal was kind of weak and unreliable. The room and bathroom weren't very clean, but clean enough for me and for the price. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

You get what you pay for. It seems to be fairly safe and secure, but the rooms are a little rundown and out of date. At least the internet is fast.

Room was clean, with fridge & microwave, AC easy to control, no noise from other rooms. Trader Joe's is next door. The office happily kept my laptop twice when I did not want to leave it in the room or tote it about during the day. The breakfast however was boring in the extreme, including tasteless coffee.

It was fine. The rooms was suitable. The bed was somewhat soft and it could use better pillows. The continental bkfst was very nice and unexpected. The staff was quite friendly and accomodating. I plan to stay there again.

The rate was great. When I saw the setup upon arrival I was afraid of noise but our first night was quiet. Second night/morning we heard trucklifts going up and down, unloading next door at the small mall area. Our friend staying upstairs was not so lucky with quiet but the staff moved him upon his request. Rooms have old (boarded up) jallosy windows (spelling?) so you could see how it could be noisy but we slept like babies on night one. We passed on breakfast. Rooms had operable micro and fridge. Trader Joe's is next door.

Cheap, get what you pay for. Good location. All I wanted was a room, did not want pool or gym.

I read the reviews and was undecided but a friend of mine said she always stayed there and it was really nice. I met here there in January while I was interviewing at the University of Michigan hospital and it was great. A large room, a microwave and very clean. The best part was the price which has to be the lowest in town.

The Lamp Post was enxpensive, yet quiet and comfortable. I would stay again. The staff were VERY nice and friendly. The rooms had a frig & micro. Our room had a small t.v. (smaller then most), but the cable worked well. I was also worried about noise, but it was quiet & I was upstairs!

We went to a concert at The Ark in downtown Ann Arbor. This hotel is only 4 miles from downtown district. This hotel has very friendly, accomodating staff. The rooms are average but clean and a great value for the money. There are plenty of shopping businesses and restaurants close by. I stayed at this hotel last year while attending another concert at the Ark and will continue to stay there as it is so convenient, clean and a great value. The room we had had a small refridgerator and microwave which is also very convenient. Even though this place doesn't have an on-site restaurant, they do offer a continental breakfast for the early risers. Great place, great value!

I always stay here when I hit Ann Arbor and have done so for years. It is always clean, friendly and inexpensive. I can walk to campus on nice days, and if not I take the bus which is right in front of the hotel and only costs a buck. Best price in town

Stayed here to attend sporting event at University. Great location close to the campus. Easy access to I 94. Plaza next door & lots of restaurants in area. Pleasant courteous front desk staff. Clean room and comfortable beds. Room equipped with microwave & fridge which is a nice bonus. Bathroom clean with good shower and plenty of towels. If looking for basic accomodation at good price this is the place..would stay here again!

To my surprise, the hotel did not provide toothbrush. Except this, it is a nice and affordable hotel.

I had asked for a pet friendly hotel; this place is not pet-friendly, so I had to board my 8 lb dog for the night, which was very stressful and expensive. Their rules say nothing about "no Pets". The room stunk of cigarettes even though it was supposed to be a smoke-free room. The smoke smell made me feel sick because I am very sensitive to tobacco. I had to sign a card saying that I would be charged $* if a pet stayed in the room or if I smoked. Fortunately, I have never smoked in my life, but how would they know? I read the reviews before I booked the room; they must have been written by the owners of this place. I would never stay there again.

We've stayed at the Lamp Post Inn two years in a row, for our yearly trip to Camaro Superfest. It's a great place, and the prices for rooms are fantastic. The accomodations are nice, and the rooms inlude a microwave and small fridge, which are great for a slightly extended stay. The service is great, and there is a complimentary breakfast. Would recommend to others!

The room smelled funny. The shower was old and a bit too creepy for me to use. There was a window in the bathroom that was unlocked (though closed) upon my arrival and led onto the roof that made me a bit uncomfortable for my safety. Overall the room was serviceable, but not very pleasant. There was a bed, a working bathroom, and a TV with basic cable. The room was oddly shaped and there was a panel in the ceiling for the attic entrance. The furnishings were kind of old too. Their were no curtains over the windows, just blinds. It was also very humid and the air conditioner didn't help much to dehumidify the air. Breakfast was free, but very basic, including plain bagels, oatmeal packets, cookies and coffee but no fruit, cereal, milk or juice. It was an all right stay, but I'm glad I only had to spend 10 hours there. I'm not going to stay there again though.

It is an old motel that needs a lot of repairs. The staff was friendly. The rooms were very small and needed numerous repairs. I think it had the original furniture in it. It was close to town and the highway that was the best part. I wouldn't recommend it unless you don't care where your staying

Didn't expect alot of the hotel for the price paid, and expectations held true. Fairly close to campus/stadium however and had a great time at the game!
