A good value family run hotel in an excellent location. The owners of the property are very knowledgeable about the area, particularly Andrew. Number One High Street. The Town of Windermere is set on a hillside and the Lakes Hotels is at the uppermost point of the main street. The Hotels is literally a stone's throw from Windermere rail station and the main A591.There is no restaurant as such although the hotel has a breakfast room which is traditionally furnished. This is a traditional Cumbrian slate built property. The lobby is small and to the left of the entrance to the Hotel. You have to ring the door bell to be let in by the owner or his wife. It can often be quite busy as the hotel operates tours of the Lake District by bus which are very popular.
