Not acceptable to most people. The location near the North Shore and the Cultural Center should make this a gem – the reviews tell the story. The hotel is worn and dirty. The staff is pleasant, but can’t make up for a hotel being far past acceptable. The only plus is the low rates. There is a plan to build another hotel on this site; the owners are apparently milking the last dollar out of this building. I’m sure there are clean condos available for near the same costs.

Close to Polynesian Cultural Center and BYU-H. Not a typicl tourist location so it was quieter and low key. Visited the north shore.

Convenient, right next to Polynesia Cultural Center. Convenient, friendly , moderate, especially good for family trip.

rooms were clean and comfortable for the price. Could use some repair and upgrading.

Good basic value for money. Staff not always helpful or knowledgeable. An acceptable budget hotel for a couple of nights (I was there for 1 night only). Clean, decent balcony overlooking pool, good sized room. A bit sparse on furniture/decoration, so if you're looking for luxury this is not for you. Limited but free continental breakfast enough to get you started in the morning.

The hotel is a short walk from the Polynesian Cultural Center, which means that if you are staying in Honolulu, you don't have to take the commute back after the late Night Show. The room was very rustic, but included tiny fridge and cable tv.

Location The cleaning was reprehensible. I know it is an old hotel but that is no excuse for poor cleaning. This is a sorry excuse for a hotel. Unfortunately there are no other hotels in Laie where we were visiting our college students. The beds were hard, the pillows flat. The cleaning was the worst I've ever experienced and there was trash.

We were a little leary after reading the reviews...but ended up being glad we stayed! Although this is not a resort hotel, the rooms are clean and comfortable and there is plenty of free parking. We enjoyed the daily continental breakfast and the hotel staff was nothing but cordial and accomodating. Our room was cleaned daily and the housekeeping staff made sure we wanted for nothing. This hotel offers a true North Shore experience with friendly locals and proximity to many beautiful beaches for swimming, body boarding and surfing.

Absolutely nothing. Everything. We couldn't wait for morning to leave. This is a disgrace of a motel. When we got to our room, the air conditioning didn't work. I went down to the office to ask for a different room and the clerk said they were sold out. I said that we are here early and surely not everyone has checked in yet so give us another room. Finally she checked a few times and came up with another room. At least the air conditioning worked (and well I might add). The room (like the original one we got) was dingy, one lamp for the entire room, plaster chipped away everywhere, the wooden doors both to the room and the bathroom was rotted away, the carpeting was dirty, the linens were stained... I don't have to write more. If you want an absolutely bad experience, stay here. If not, avoid it like the plague that it is.

The Cultural Center was the top attraction of our Hawaiian experience. The hotel was so convenient to the Center. Its an older facility, but reasonably clean and a wonderful staff.

You really DO get what you pay for! Room was dirty, bed linens were stained, towels smelt moldy and there were roaches in the bathroom!! There was a fridge, but no hairdryer, iron, m'wave etc. Carpet was ripped and filthy. Bath had a layer of water sitting under the liner that made it feel as though you were on a boat while you were showering! Check in staff member was grumpy and not very helpful. (I would be too if I had to work there!!) Apparently there are plans to pull this place down and rebuild it - lets hope the new place is 100% better than this hovel!!!

The Laie Inn was a overall average hotel. The room had very worn out carpet, a old uncomfortable bed, and a rattling bearly working fan/air conditioner. Its best selling point is being near the Polynesian cultural and being close to the northshore.

The checkin staff person was very welcoming, answered our questions, and helped in our purchase of Polynesian Cultural Center admission tickets.
