Very quaint location. Would have preferred 2 queens to double beds but don't think they offer that. The pool was kept too hot for the kids, like 80 degrees or so. But there is an amazing walk across the street at the Montage Spa and Resort that is breathtaking. The inside of the rooms were clean....bathrooms look re-done. Overall a great place for the price. Was very peaceful even at night.

It had a tropical feeling. Location was across the road from beach. Friendly staff, intimate setting, extremely good value for money.

Remodeled, but poor workmanship. Large rooms. Ice machine did not work. Tiny toilet in room (and no, I don't weigh 250 pounds!). Continental breakfast was packaged foods, nothing special. Price was higher than justified. Landscaping in front was great. We saw police pull over 3 cars for speeding in 15 minutes right in front of hotel. It's a long walk across street, down many steps to walkway overlooking ocean. Great view from there to watch sunset. Landscaping along walkway was beautiful. Tide was in, so no beach to speak of, which was down many more steps. Public beach was 1/2 mile south of hotel, if you want to stay next to beach, stay in a hotel farther south.

The night desk clerk that checked me in was excellent. Saw I got best room they had! Location seemed isolated and seedy. When I arrived at this older hotel, the desk clerk was prepared and handed me my key. It did not work in the door of the room I was given so I went back down to the lobby. The clerk was very apologetic and accompanied me back up with a new key. Once there, he considered the room and said he decided to give me the room next to it instead. He went back down and in a minute he was back with another key. However he told me he decided to move me again to still another room. This one was a suite in the front of the hotel with ocean view and special luxury bed. It was just great and very kind of the clerk to do this for me. I had a delightful, quiet and comfortable stay and was very pleased with the service. BTW-The luxury bed was incredible! Like heaven!

Loved the location, which was right across the street from an amazing beach and park. The room was nice but a little small. A great little beach-town motel with a nice ambiance, beautiful garden setting and one of California's most spectacular beaches right across the street! It's nothing fancy but a terrific value.

I found the man who took care of the front desk was rude and would not allow our shuttle driver to use washroom before a long journey

Excellent location. Right across the street from ocean. Easy access to beaches. Needs new mattresses. Everything else was great. Highly recommended. Lots of beautiful plants outside. Great breakfast included. Has swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. Easy access to ocean and beaches.

Ocean view, walking distance to beach. The ants in the kitchen area. The hotel was lovely and very quiet for being of PCH. We had a very nice room, there were a few ants, but not so many that we had to call anyone.

Beautiful surroundings, lovely plants, excellent location. For some people it might be difficult, as there is no elevator for public use. I would and plan to go back and use this hotel whenever in the area. Unfortunately we were so busy that we spent little time there. My husband and I said that next time we will absolutely spend more time there.

I liked the beach across the street and that it was close the Montage Resort the park and beach were very nice. We were located next to the maid/maintenance room and there were sometime noisy.

I loved the atmosphere around the rooms, very private like no one else was there. The bathroom was impossible to keep warm, there was a constantly open window, and it was pretty chilly outside. I was pleased with the service, and beds were very comfortable. I would defiantly recommend this Best Western to friends and family.

That it was directly across from the beach and there was beach access. The room itself was a step above a motel 6, however the location couldn't be better. The bed linens were clean, but the carpet could have been upgraded. There was a very small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. As far as decor, it was late 70's early 80's. It was a short drive or long walk to the main strip, but it had private access to the most beautiful stretch of beach. The pool was adequate. The landscaping was very pretty.

Easy to find. Bugs in room, bathroom fixtures not working, bed uncomfortable, dingy/stuffy odor, TV remote confusing. One of the worst hotels I have stayed in for the money. I could not believe my eyes when bugs were crawling out of my shoe in the morning! The shower filled with water and it had 2 hot control knobs, and the shower door would not stay closed. Very tacky decor and an old, stale odor hit your face when you first walked in. The TV remote was so confusing it was easier to get out of bed to turn the volume up and down. Never again will we stay here.

Reliably clean and comfortable, more affordable than most in the area. Most would not find this location walk able to town. Had stayed in this hotel on a previous trip through Laguna and was pleased with the price compared to other area hotels. Chose it again for this primary reason. Across the street is the beautiful montage resort, and access to a well-maintained, lovely (1/2-mile-long?) Pathway along the oceanfront with many sitting benches. There is beach access here, and in my experience, it was quiet on both my visits. The hotel has a pleasant touch of water and chocolate on the bed upon arrival, with towel robes wrapped up on the bed. The breakfast is not that exciting, but the atmosphere is pretty and relaxing in their outdoor patio for those who need a quick eat-and-go morning. Bed was a bit mushy for my taste, but I liked the assortment of pillows. Had an end room with a partial view of the ocean - this was a plus - although the blinds were a bit tricky and did not all work properly.

The separate bath and kitchen. This hotel has great location (walking distance to the beach), and the room was great with a separate kitchen (with a two burner stove/microwave and refrigerator), and a separate bath, this was by far one of the nicest rooms I have ever been in.

Beautiful landscape, and garden arrangement. Noisy upstairs. Good.
