Smell not good on the room if you just enter

The friendly staff. Not all supplies were replenished. Overall, cleanliness and stall was very good.

Checked in after abandoning a competitor, and found this facility under renovation. Despite the on-going construction, everything went very smoothly. Someone needs to hire away the front manager and promote him to at least VP- Customer Relations at twice whatever he's making. Helpful and attentive, very professional attitude with a sense of humor under pressure, he gets it done, even to having pre-printed directions to the Base and local attractions. Requested a 'roll-away', which was needed for my son who got an unexpected overnight pass from FT. Jackson, and it was delivered to our room made up with extra pillows in 5 minutes. The renovation looks to be upscale and comfortable, and hopefully they will enlarge the breakfast room. The signage needs help, as it is sandwiched between larger ones and it is too easy to miss and pass by. Very good overall.

great location, quiet area, easy on&off I-77 for heading north or south. Need alittle more room cleanliness. Lots of restrurants nearby. My son loves the breakfast bar waffles.....

Carpet was sticky between the two beds. Nice size rooms. The beds were very comfortable. I liked the sink outside of the bathroom area. Nice temperature controlled AC. Carpet was sticky in one place and the shower drained was bent and collected hair. It was not fixed from previous guest. TV color was bad. Buffet breakfast included a fresh waffle station, but everything else was the basic free hotel continental buffet breakfast. Not much fresh fruit or cereal.

We were running late, and called to verify the rooms would be held. When we arrived, they had our paperwork ready and waiting. However, one of the cards did not work on the door for the room. When we got in the room, the window was open. But this did not help the smoke smell in the room. There were holes and cigerette burns in the carpet, and holes in the blankets on all the beds. There was mold on the shower curtain. The shower head was broken. A train rolled by early in the morning. One of our rooms was near the elevator, and could hear every sound from that in the room all night long. The other room must have been near the laundry room, we heard the dryer in our room. We were too afraid to try the breakfast. There are plenty of hotels near this one. No reason to stay here. We will never stay at a La Quinta again.

We left and stayed elsewhere the room was dirty and smelled horrible.

Easy check in. The breakfast was not hot. This is a good hotel for business travelers. The staff was courteous and helpful.

The only thing going for this hotel is that it is pet friendly. That having been said, my room was a dump. It was a smoking room, as I am a smoker, and the carpet, furniture, etc., was littered with cigarette burns. The carpet was stained with what was obviously pet stains. You had to jiggle the tub water spigot to get the water to turn on, the selections on the TV were terrible, unless you love at least 4 ESPN channels. I don't know if they were redoing the room next to me, but I was awoken at 6:00 by lots of banging and noise two of the days I was there. The staff was very friendly, that was the best thing about it. Location wise, it was near where I needed to be. My parents live in Columbia and wanted me to bring my Shih Tzu Sammy with me to celebrate the New Year. Something in the room even made him sick to his tummy! Oh and I did clean up his mess, something that obviously was not done by previous tenants or the hotel. Never again.

The room was a little run down for the amount of money spent. The carpet was older and bunched up, needs replaced. The toliet was a little wobbly when it was sat on. The TV needs replaced as well, many of the channels were really blurry. On the good side the room was large and the bed pretty comfortable.

Breakfast. Dirty and mildew bathroom. Smelled like smoke in a non smoking room. The breakfast was the best part. The room was dirty and smelly. I would not stay here again.

The hosts at the front desk were awesome here! When I stayed, Hurricane/Tropical Storm Hanna was bearing down, people were canceling reservations right and left...and everyone I came in contact with at the front desk was cool, calm, friendly, and extremely helpful. I was there to attend my son's Army basic training graduation. I was provided with printed directions to Fort Jackson, as well as clear verbal directions and advice as to when to arrive to beat the rush. I was extremely grateful!! Free breakfast was very tasty - I enjoyed biscuits and sausage gravy. The only negative was that my reservation was for a king size bed, no-smoking room. I got 2 queen size beds (not a problem) in a smoking room ( a bit of a problem since I am allergic to smoke!) However, a forgivable mistake considering the weather situation.

Very clean. location was perfect, near downtown Columbia, S.C. and the Riverbanks Zoo, and the Museums. Price was very reasonable. TV went on the fritz and they got us moved in record time. Super friendly staff.

We went to be apart of Fort Jacksons graduation from basic training and Family Day, my hubsand left his credit card at the front desk and the staff was great they return him. The staff at this hotel was great a really great place to stay.

The service was great, but this hotel is not what I expected. The interior was full of rough edges, the room smelled like carpet cleaner, and while I stayed in my room, a mirror fell from the bathroom door. I would definetely not recommend this hotel to a friend.

Very clean and accommodating, everything we needed for our stay. There really was not anything not to like. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel. It was clean and the room provided the thing needed in the room to enhance our stay.

"This hotel was dirty in the public areas and rooms. Everything was worn, multiple stains on carpets and bedding. Suites are over-sized rooms with a loveseat. Found hairs in the bedding that belonged to previous occupants or housekeeping. Should have listened to our dog who tried to tell us to not stay. Very little green space for walking pets. Vehicle broken into, although we appreciate security letting us know when they found it rather than waiting for us to find in the a.m."

Staff were very friendly. Continental breakfast was quite good. Rooms were not as clean as I would expect. The room smelled as though someone just left the room after smoking a cigarette.

We worked outside all day, were hot and tired and check in and had a very comfortable night sleep! The furnishings may be a little dated, but it was very comfortable. The location was perfect, and it was a nice quiet night and free breakfast the next morning!
