Date of Stay:
June, 2009
My husband and I were in STL for a quick weekend apartment hunting trip. We knew we would be busy while there, so were looking for a reasonably priced hotel that included breakfast. This one did, but we were somewhat disappointed with it. It's only served from 7-10am (starts too late in my opinion) and when we arrived in the breakfast room 15 min after 7, the majority of items weren't stocked and ready (no spoons, no hot water for instant oatmeal, no pancake syrup for waffles, NO COFFEE, no jelly for toast, etc., etc.). Definitely slowed us down to have to go ASK hotel staff to stock items that should have been ready. Also, although our room was fairly clean (I did notice some small stains on the bed comforter), the hallway absolutely REEKED of cig smoke. This wasn't a terrible hotel but, honestly, I don't think I'd stay here again if I could find another similarly priced hotel with breakfast.

Conveniently located on interstate. Beds were very small and uncomfortable. Was not a bad place to spend overnight. We were just looking for a clean, safe place to sleep and it met those expectations.

We stayed here for a weekend trip (2 nights) to St Louis with kids. It was disgusting- dated is one thing, but dirty is quite another. The dirty towels were not picked up after the first day- there was hair(not ours) on the bath tub. We made coffee the first morning- it was not cleaned up and they didn't replenish for the next day- guess they didn't want us to use the coffee maker again. The outside of the hotel looks ok, but the room was just dirty. I didn't even want to take off my shoes on the carpet in the room. The sheets on both the full size beds had holes in them and were so worn you could see through them. When we returned home, all of our clothes and our suitcases smelled of smoke (we had a non-smoking room). We stayed and made the best of it, but will not stay at any room in this hotel chain again.

This hotel was very nice. The young lady at the desk her name was Ashley did a FANTASTIC job. She was friendly, knowedgable about the area and was able to multi-task. My wife and I had a great time.

Nice breakfast. Shabby, needs updating, but clean rooms.

We stayed at this hotel and it was in a great location from everything we wanted to do. We would definately stay here again.

For the price and location, I was very dissatisfied. I had to clean my own tub. There was not a pool, as advertised, and the room smelt like a dog. I was sick after leaving. This is the first time I have every stayed at this La Quinta and will not do it again in the future. Do not stay here.

The beds were comfortable, & fair dining area for breakfast. The carpets in the halls and stairs were very dirty. When we arrived after 6:00 pm our room was not yet cleaned and the cleaning staff had gone. The desk staffwas helpful, however.

We stayed here on our way out of town. Very clean, helpful front desk. Very nice place to stay.

I have stayed at this hotel several times, but the last couple of times, I have encountered problems. The previous stay, I had to relocate to another room....As for the most recent stay...T.V. remote did not work..tracked down a cleaning woman who at my suggestion brought me new batteries...problem solved. Cleaning woman accidentially entered our room while we were in there...said there was confusion...thought room was vacant. The worst problem was an apparent leak from the A.C. unit. I had placed my cloth bag on the floor, a couple of feet from the A.C. unit. I did not know it was leaking...could not tell. The water on the carpet, soaked through my bag, and some of my clothes ended up wet as well. As for the positive..the breakfast bar is pretty good...

The gentleman at the front desk was one of the mosty helpful hotel employees that we have ever came across. We had to take our 2 dogs with us on this vacation and it was very hot. We were alowed to check in early and the room was great. Anytime we needed directions to somewhere he was very helpful and even when we got lost coming back to the hotel he stayed on the phone with us until he knew that we were headed in the right direction. We would stay at this hotel the next time we are in the St. Louis area.

The staff was extremely helpful & available. There was not anything I didn't like about it. The locations is great, right off the freeway, it's in a safer suburb/neighborhood but is convenient to shops, restaurants. The staff was wonderful, I dropped an earring down the sink and a maintenance man promptly came up and took apart the drain and retrieved it for me. The breakfasts were good and the room was very comfortable. My whole stay was great, it couldn't have been better.

The Staff was very friendly and professional. They printed directions to the Airport and Shopping center for me which where accurate. High Speed Internet is available but wireless, which should have been mentioned. The room was okay but missing a few things like the comforter, ashtray (was a smoking room) and coffeepot.

We were not going to be in the area long; but we wanted a quiet, clean room to relax in before we started off on a busy day. La Quinta certainly met our needs. It was very comfortable, clean, and spacious. We got a great night's sleep and were up and ready for our next day. We didn't have time to eat the breakfast they provided, but it looked great.

Could not get reliable internet signal at hotel; Hotel hallways smelled; no newspaper provided.

Our room at La Quinta Hazelwood was very comfortable. I liked that the vanity area was separate from the bathroom. They also provided a complimentary breakfast every day. The room seemed bigger than other hotels we have stayed at before. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was close to restaurants along 270 I.

The locations were good for the destination I had chosen. It was quick off the interstate, and quick on again. It may have been a one-time quirk, but we were not able to check-in at the time. We had to wait around for more than an hour after the noon check-in time, it was inconvenient for our schedule.

Over all I was pleased with this stay. I was looking for an inexpensive motel for one night near the St. Louis airport and this fit the bill. The only thing I wish were different was the lack of dining near the motel. It was just fast food in walking distance and I did not have a car.
