Needed somewhere to stay overnight for speaking engagement in Longview and next day at the casinos in Shreveport. Checked in late; no problem with check-in and the person behind the desk was very nice. Had problem with the door key, but finally opened it on fourth try. The room was clean but a little muggy. Air conditioning was slow to start but by morning was working too well; freezing in the room. T.V. reception was horrible with snow all over the screen on every channel. We arrived pretty late and very tired, so not really a big deal. Left before the free breakfast, so no help here. Hint: The is a Whataburger just down the street and the #3 was de-lish!

The price line room rate was very acceptable for the older style hotel. It needs an elevator. The only way to access the upstairs rooms is by stairway.

I arrived at this hotel at approx 1:30 am on May 23, 2008. I had made reservations for a smoking room, the room smelled horrible. The walls were dirty. The furniture was dusty. The door to the room was diry. The entry tile and the bathroom tile were diry and sticky. I was not happy with the overall appearance of the front desk area. The walls behind the front desk were dirty. The front desk is the first impression a guest has of any hotel. I was unable to stay at this hotel due to the deplorable conditions. I checked out of the hotel and due to there was a conference in town, there were no rooms available in Marshall, Tx. I drove all the way to Longview, to get a hotel room. I will never stay at the LaQuinta in Marshall again. I will be attending a reunion in June in Marshall, Tx. I can honestly say I will not make reservations for this Laquinta. I have stayed at the LaQunta's in other areas and there were worth the money. The LaQuinta in Marshall, Tx needs an overhall, to include the hotel and the management. The house keeping staff needs to be reeducated on the cleaning of the rooms in order to make them presentable for guest.

The la Quinta marshall TX had a very nice staff, big rooms with very large desks and a superior continental breakfast. I was very happy with the excellent wifi as well.

We stayed here for one night, thank goodness that's all we needed, and this place is sketchy. First we had to wait FOREVER for someone to show up at the front desk...we should have seen this as a sign. We paid the rate of **.** with tax which was a rip off for the room we stayed in. The hallways were dark, all outside doors open to anyone, the parking lot is not lit very well, the tv was probably 30 years old and the reception was terrible, the bathroom floor was sticky, and this list goes on. When we checked in we were told because we had a pet with us that someone would need to check our room before we checked out, that was fine. When we were ready to leave I went to the front desk...no one was there, it was around 6 a.m. I called out "hello." No one answered. I waited...............fustrated, I returned to my room to remove the rest of my luggage, my mom and dog were waiting in the car in the poorly lit parking lot for me. I loaded my stuff in the car and returned to the front desk....still no one there. I called out again "hello, is anyone who works here around?" No answer. I went into the breakfast room and asked another guest if they had seen anyone who worked there, no. I called out again and a man stepped out of an obscure little room. He could see that I was upset, he checked my room, never apologized for the delay. I will NEVER stay there again and suggest that you drive past to another hotel.

Nothing. People cooking in room next to me. Smelled really bad. Hotel was non smoking. People smoking in the halls. Dirty, noise in halls all night.

Location. Poor continental breakfast. The beds were terribly uncomfortable; I've stayed at many La Quinta and this was by far the poorest in terms of cleanliness and breakfast.

Quick access to the exits. The breakfast was well below average. This was not up the usual La Quinta standards. There were no fitted sheets on the beds and I spent a large part of the night getting the bottom sheet back between me and the lumpy mattress. Avoid the breakfast buffet.

Good A/C and clean bathroom. The lady at the service desk was very unfriendly. I would not recommend this hotel.

Location. No elevator. It would be accommodating if they had one, particularly for the elderly. Long wait for breakfast because of equipment malfunctions. Okay, at best. It will do if you're just looking for somewhere to lay your head at an economical cost. Front desk staff left something to be desired, as they could have been more accommodating.

It met my expectations. This hotel was clean and in a great location for me. The star level was accurate.

Free breakfast. Carpet in hallways was dirty. The hotel was ok. I thought it was overpriced.

I was very surprised at the quality of the breakfast. It was quite broad as well. The room was fairly noisy. I heard the drink machine, traffic, and neighbors. For a two star hotel, la Quinta was exactly as advertised. The room, bed, and bath were very clean and the expanded continental breakfast included self-made Belgian waffles. Even as a woman alone, I felt safe. However, I could hear the hall, parking lot, and neighbors all night long.

The room had lots of wonderful pillows on the beds. I am a smoker, but my husband is not, we got a nonsmoker rm. But the room and halls smelled like old smoke. The location was perfect. The check in person was not very friendly. (But he was very young) he did not want to see my conf. # and then said that there were not any reservations for me. But then he located it in the computer. I used my credit card and when I asked for a receipt the guy to me that they would place it under my room door is for my check out time. But I never got the receipt. The only charge to my card best is for the room cost. I did not get any thing else from the hotel.

Ratty, not being maintained well. This hotel needs a complete update. Then it needs to be properly maintained which is not currently happening. I don't know if it's getting ready to be sold so they're not putting resources into it or if they just are choosing to milk it.

Good breakfast and breakfast area. The odor. Maybe it was the cleaning compounds, but we found it offensive. The person that checked us in was not overly friendly but strictly business. We changed one of our rooms due to the odor we perceived, although it was not terrible, and could have even been the cleaning compounds used, it was offensive to us.

Continental Breakfast was awesome! I could feel the mattress springs in my back. Overall a pleasant stay and accomodating. The only downfall was that the mattress needed to be replaced!
