The LaQuinta Maingate was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. We went their for a Military Graduation from Fort Jackson. The only thing I would change would be the name of the hotel. It is not Located at the Main Gate of Fort Jackson, although it is only 1 exit off of the expressway (I-77) away from the main gate. The room was comfortable, clean, and the staff was there to answer any of your questions and/or concerns. They also had information for Family day and Graduation activities and directions for what you needed to know. If we should return to Fort Jackson in the future, we would definitely stay at this hotel!

Staff was very friendly and helpful with giving us directions around the city. The hotel was currently undergoing renovations - there was a lot of noise. The hotel was under renovations at the time of my stay. I did not like the noise, other than that, I have no complaints. The hotel was as clean as can be expected under the circumstances.

We arrived at 12am on our appointed day and our room was still available which was good. However, the Inn is undergoing an extensive remodel while operating and did not appear clean. Our beds were only doubles, we expected queens and one of them had a long(about 24 inches) black hair in the sheets.(My hair is short and blonde) We did not sleep in that bed but I could'nt help question the sanitation. I reported it but did not feel it made a difference. The garbages were not emptied, our paper cups not replaced, I could not tell that any vacumning ever occurred, and the furniture looked to be vintage in a grimy sort of way. In short, my overall trip was great but I dreaded coming back to the Inn each night and would not recommend this facility nor will I ever stay in another one. On a postive note, except for the lack of cleanliness, the front desk staff was pleasant if ineffective.

Staying here during renovations was like living in a war zone. Our room was dark, worn and dirty; stray potato chips, unknown pills, and bobby pins were found on the stained carpet. The bathroom was grisly: mildewed and cracked tiles, slow-draining pipes and W/C, and a large, gross patch over a badly-rusted-out bathtub. We decided to leave ASAP, rather than shower in that filth. As Returns members, we felt badly cheated by the cost of the room.. The staff was friendly, but the facilities are the worst La Quinta we've encountered to date.

The La Quinta Inn at the Main Gate Fort Jackson SC was not near the Main Gate (about 7-10 miles away). It was located behind a restaurant and another motel-you had to drive through the parking lots to get to it. The room was adequate in size, had a coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator. The room was in poor repair-closet door off hinge, damaged, dresser warped, ceiling in room and bathroom waterstained and cracked. Only 3 pillows for a king size bed. Great grocery store nearby!

Comfy beds and clean sheets! that's what really matters. Alot of construction going on, but it was kept neat, at least. The hotel stay was great. The staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful at all times. The rooms were clean (including bathrooms) and the beds were comfortable, complete with sheets that werenot scratchy! We had our privacy as necessary and plenty of things to do in the area, and we were such a short trip from our destination! Awesome stay.

I was impressed by the size of the room, and all of the amenities. The room contained a king sized bed, pull out sofa, desk, large dresser, microwave, refrigerator, nice TV with add on movie features, clean bathroom and outside sink/dressing area. I was very happy with my stay at this hotel.

Front desk staff. The half eaten cookie on the bed when we arrived. Very friendly desk staff (evening), but no excuse for a cookie to be on the bed of a room, that had supposedly been cleaned.

Staff were most helpful. Eating area was well maintained. Room was across from laundry. Very noisy. The location was very good, and as I mentioned staff was helpful. Rooms look a little tired and need to be freshened up. Unfortunately, our room location was beside the laundry room, and early morning with staff coming and going it was very noisy.

Close to destination. Mattress was old and broken down. Was acceptable. This is the 3 La Quinta I have stayed in and I will not stay in another one unless it is the only motel in area. Have had bad experiences when comparing to other motels I have stayed in at same prices. Others were much nicer.

Stayed for four days visiting my son in Fort Jackson and brought our dog and the people were excellent!! Helped me with places to go and local parks. The room was wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone.

The staff was very good. It was old and you could tell; It is not the staff's fault, they did a wonderful job. Close to Fort Jackson; Rooms are ok, but have a few problems. Namely, they are old and it shows in areas. The room was not done on one day, but that could be because I got in very late. The staff was very courteous. I am not sure if they are remodeling other floors, but they need to be updated. The beds were good, the toilet ran all night, and the AC drove me crazy with the noise. But like I said, It was not the staff's fault. There are plenty of restaurants close by and overall, I gave it a rating of 7.5. This is pretty good considering I have stayed and traveled a good deal.

"The staff was great, a housekeeper walking in the hall over heard me telling my daughter I needed Kleenex and X came out her way and brought me back a box. X and another young lady were at the desk and they gave great directions and made us fell right at home."

I really liked the hotel and recommend it any one who is looking for an affordable hotel. The location is also great and near many restaurants and shopping malls. The hotel is very easy to find and is near the highway interstate section. I attended my boyfriend's Boot Camp Graduation in Ft. Jackson and the location was only a five minutes drive so that was also wonderful! What was very neat about this hotel is that it had its own pamplet on directions and activities about Ft. Jackson and also the city of Columbia. I would definitely come stay in this hotel again!

"We traveled with our 3 year old and dog. It was very accessible to I-77. My only drawback was that the inside of the rooms appeared old. The bathroom had a mildew smell and the floor was sticky. The room looked old and and had stains/spots along the wall and ceiling where it was peeling away. It wasn't too bad for a one night stay. The continental breakfast in the morning was great. They had a waffle maker and the lady was very attentive to our needs, volunteering to help serve us and make our waffles. The staff was really nice and helpful."
