Not the prettiest location and not the nicest hotel. Parking was terrible. But all in all it was alright
Date of Stay:
June, 2009
I like that it was close to the beach. This hotel was falling apart. The non-smoking rooms had been smoked in and it stunk. This hotel was very old and in desperate need of an overhaul. We tried three different rooms and all of them had a terrible smell and something broken in them. The sheets were stained and the towels very thin. We wanted desperately to leave to go somewhere else, but Priceline's policy prohibited us from even changing to a different hotel from the same chain.

It is a good stay for business and is close to the beach but the hotel is close to a big industrial business and it makes it look very unfriendly. Also it is an old hotel and the outside is not too friendly. It is very clean however in the inside. I was satisfied with my stay but wouldnt want to stay longer than a night or two.

Was here last fall, if not worse now. Take this hotel off your list. Nat bunches flying in room, then bite causing skin irritation. Bathroom dirty all over. Better housekeeping for room. etc.

Location. Smell of room and mold on the ceiling in bathroom. The hotel had a good location but that was about it. The room was a non smoking room, but it smelled like a bar. There was black mold growing all over the ceiling in the bathroom.

For a hotel that accepts pets there was no pet smell. The beds are cheap and too hard and bouncy for my tatses. I was worried that it would smell like pets, but it did not and was very clean. It was a bit run-down looking (the room door kind of rough around the edges and difficult to close properly, and the bathtub appeared stained, though I believe it was clean, but looked like there was dirt in the bottom of it). The pool was smallish, but okay, but I couldn't use it. Firstly, it was full of male construction worker guests in the evening and there was no way to play in it with my six year old, but when we tried to use it in teh morning when all these guys were gone, it was almost icy cold. We did not take the free breakfasts offered, so I can't comment on this. Over all, we had a good stay; the room was clean and I felt we were safe.

I love Laquinta breakfasts. Lots of roaches , hair on bathroom floor, no hot water. Good price, good location, but we found 4 roaches, all kinds of hair on the bathroom floor, and the hot water did not work for us in the morning (other guests did have warm water). Staff was friendly, but not very helpful. They suggested letting it run for 15 minutes. Upside? You can't beat La quinta's waffle breakfasts!

The breakfast was very versatile. The white doors had fingerprints all over them. The hotel was nice however I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the white walls and doors.

Very friendly staff, clean comfortable room. No bad experience. The staff was king and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, the free breakfast was good and hot, no problems with the hotel.

The breakfast was good and staff was nice. The room smelled like smoke and was dirty. Okay for a one night stay, but not impressive. The breakfast was good though.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Found a rat dropping in room - not good!!

Breakfast provided, microwave and refrigerator. Pool location. Overall clean, good parking, easy location, convenient breakfast.

The breakfast was nice. The room was dirty, the carpets were wet, and the room stunk. For the money I was very disappointed.

Continental breakfast. Service. We rented 4 rooms. Only one was ready when we got there, even after we called and they told us it would be ready by check in time (1pm). Two were ready after 3, and one wasn't ready until after 5 pm. One person from our group was almost burned by the hot water, there was no cold water in 2 of the rooms. Worst of all, the staff acted as if everything was OK, and they did not do anything about it.

The staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was good. There was a roach in the microwave. The staff was friendly, location was near the beach. On the downside, there was a roach in our microwave. The beds were hard and most of the guests at the hotel were rowdy workers from the nearby chemical plant. I would not recommend this place for a family and I do not think it was a 2 star hotel. But I can't say enough good things about the staff. very friendly!

Location. Needs updating. It was what I expected. All I needed was a place to sleep. Not the best and not the worst. I would stay there again.

The clerk at check in was extremely pleasant. The bed was extremely hard. There were men hanging out and drinking all over the property except for in the front of the office. We didn't feel safe.

Clean room. Comfortable bed. Refrigerator in room. AC inadequate for Texas heat. Remote half-way worked. I stay here quite often. The ACs are getting old and some of them can't handle afternoon heat, barely can handle mild nighttime. Staff is friendly. Quite often, stuff doesn't work, like lights, light switches, TV remotes. Many of the rooms have refrigerators which I need. The bathtubs have an irritating step up and are dangerous to get out of if you forget the tub floor is higher than the room floor.

New paint of the outside. Room had a bad oder and had to buy airfreshner to fix. For an inexpensive hotel they tried hard but they needed some type of security in the parking lot. As we were getting ready to leave to undesireable looking people try to confront my wife and she told them to buzz off and got in our car. This happened as we were trying to leave and in broad daylight.

It was quiet. The bed was a bit hard. Very quiet and private. Good value.
