We recently stayed overnight at the La Quinta Inn in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. We later realized that the marjority of the people who were staying here as well that night were people who had evacuated from coastal Mississippi and Louisianna for huricane Gustav. So we realize our experience this visit might not necessarily be the norm. We checked in late and the front desk receptionist was curteous and prompt to assign us to our room. Our room was on the first floor of the 2 story building. The corridors were very hot and stuffy with litter on the floor. The room was located right next door to a room that had a small dog that would not stop barking and the toilet would not flush. We called the front desk and an extremely friendly staff member promptly escorted us to another room on the second floor. There are no elevators in this building, so luggage must be carried up the stairs. The guest rooms are on the smaller side and the sheets could definitely be better quality. The bathroom was not as clean as I like them to be as there were a couple of hairs and a dead fly on the floor behind the door which had what looked like spattered coffee stains on it. The room was cool, dark and quiet which allowed us a good night's sleep. A continental breakfast is included in the price of the room which was fine to me because I am not picky. The hotel was attractive in decor and furnishings which appeared to be fairly new. If the hotel was kept cleaner and better maintained, and the bed linens were more comfortable, this would be a much nicer hotel.

Dirty bathroom. Disgusting! My hotel room was dirty. The bathroom had used shampoo and someones used soap still in the tub and hair! When I called the lobby to complain the host told me that a guest checked out at the last minute and they didn't have time to clean!

I have stayed in many hotels in my lifetime (some for pleasure and some for business) and this is the first time that I did not receive a scheduled wake-up call. I had a meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. with a wake-up call for 7 a.m. I happened to wake up on my own at 7:30 and rushed around to get out and travel to my meeting. I did stop at the desk to report this and got a very casual response. The room was shabby and the pool was small and not very clean, when it was open. There are many hotels/motels in this price range in Hattiesburg and I suggest that you look elsewhere.

Loved the large rooms, and yummy breakfast. The pool was cloudy and dirty. Generally clean with kind and helpful staff and a very nice breakfast area. Pool was dirty but nice for the kids, and I felt secure at the hotel.

The La Quinta Inn was very comfortable, the room had adequate space with a desk area, tv, and two chairs. The bathroom was seperate from the vanity area and had a hairdrier and coffee maker. The room had a closet and a suitcase stand. The location was not to far from local restaurants, stores, and gas stations. The hotel staff were friendly and accomidating. The breakfast was Great!!

Hotel employees were very nice and helpful. The bed and bed sheets were not at all comfortable. This hotel was a fine hotel. Friendly staff, that greets in a nice manner. Bed was not the best but not the worst either.

I enjoyed my stay at the La Quinta in Hattiesburg, MS. I would strongly recommend this hotel. My checkin was fast and friendly. My room was clean. Bed comfy. And I felt it was very safe. It was also very affordable. Cudos to La Quinta Inn in Hattiesburg, MSGod bless them, they were great!

My husband and I with our four daughters, their spouses and children attended graduation at USM. We were here in May 2007 and enjoyed ourselves. In May 2007 there was a homicide in room. This year there yelling and arguing coming from room. Otherwise okay we returned. This is the 2nd year we have returned to this motel. Our family enjoyed the stay which ranged from two nights to four nights. The disappointment was there was no freshly made waffles on the breakfast buffet which we enjoyed. Some spoke and anticipated enjoying there Belgium waffles.

This hotel was disgusting, the tub had not been cleaned for quite some time, and the bed spread and floors in terrible shape. The walls had many marks and unknown type splashes of something on the walls.

The convenience of a microwave and small refrigerator was significant...it came in handy for me. I can't imagine a traveller with small children having to manage without these. While most accommodations don't include these amenities, they were very useful to me doing my stay there.

It looked very clean. The rooms were large and nice. The shower curtain needed to be changed it had a smell. Over all our stay was good. The shower curtain needed to be changed it had a smell. Coffee pot needed to be in a different place. It was in the bathroom and there was not enough room for it there. The staff forgot to bring more cups and coffee for the next day. But overall I would stay there again.

The front desk clerk was very helpful in letting us know of a local restaurant to dine. The pillows were so thin that we had to fold them in half to make them comfortable.

It was very convenient and easy to find no waiting to check in. None. This was first time I stayed in Laquinta Inn, I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean and the staff was very friendly and honest. I had forgotten my ID down stairs and a staff member brought it to my door for me.

The rooms were very clean and the hotel had a great layout. There were not enough towels in the bathroom for our double bedded room and the balcony was not accessible. This La Quinta was more than I expected. When we arrived we were very impressed by the quality of the rooms and the beauty of the hotel - and breakfast was very good.

The staff, appearance and amenities were horrible. The smell was horrible. I asked for a different chair, because the one in the room was broken. I was told by maintenance that that was the way the chair was supposed to be. The internet was okay. I could log on and off with no connection or speed issues. The next morning, as I was getting ready for a meeting, I noticed that there was no toiletries in the room. I called to front desk for some to be delivered and was told that they could not until the head-housekeeper came to work, 45 min. later. I waited for a while and finally had to drive to the local Wal-Mart to get my own, which delayed my meeting. I will not recommend the LaQuinta in Hattiesburg, MS.

Clean, great breakfast. Very uncomfortable beds, bathroom counter space too limited for 2 people. The hotel looked good and the breakfast was great but the beds were very poor.
