Orbitz booked me a rate that was $32 higher than what I could have been given if I reserved the room directly from La Quinta. Orbitz hid behind the fine print and did not honor their guarantee by refunding the difference as bragged about in their TV advertisements. Orbitz NEVER mentioned that you MUST let the Valet park your car in their parking garage for an ADDITIONAL $12.99 per day!!!!!

Great location if you are looking for a hotel near the downtown area for a good price. Definitely more about pricing and convenience than room quality, etc.

Worst stay of my life!!! We were demanded to leave at 4am for being too loud along with our neighbors who were being harassed for the same reason. We never heard them, and they never heard us. Why? Maybe because we were all in bed sleeping. The securtiy guards were extremely rude and treated us like we were some kind of criminals. We all feel that we were violated and harassed, and I will now never stay at a La Quinta ever again.

By far the best value for staying in downtown Austin... this hotel is only 5 blocks from all the nightlife on 6th street but way cheaper than staying in the Driskill or something. (I love La Quintas anyway simply because they're pet friendly with no extra fees attached.) The parking is valet-only and costs an additional $13/night... but this is the cheapest valet charge I've ever come across, and they do have a 24-hour attendant so it's quick & easy to get your car when you want it. I'll probably stay here again next time I'm in Austin... it was perfect!

Good location for state Capitol, and walkable to bar scene--though the hotel is kind of tired looking, though clean. I guess one gets what one pays for, although the valet parking is unnecessary in a motel setting.

Renevation taking place and we were put in a room with little or no hot water at times. A lot of steam also. They offered to put us in a smoking room that would have good hot water. No Thanks.

Clean rooms, OK breakfast. The location of our room-right by the elevator was a bit noisy, but otherwise not bad. Loved being in walking distance from everything. Desk accidentally charged us for a prepaid room, but were very apologetic and took care of it right away. Staff was very helpful with directions and advice for activities during our stay. Rates were much cheaper than other downtown hotels. La Quinta helped to make our first time in Austin very pleasant.

My stay at La Quinta Inn in Austin was a good value for the price. The room wasd newly renovated and clean. The hotel is in walking ditance to all Austin hotspots. I was satsified with my decision to stay there.

Stayed here for a girl's week end no too long ago. Our entire room was dingy and smelled terrible. I couldn't bring myself to walk on the carpet without my shoes & socks on. The security guard was an up tight Don Knott's sort-of type who kept harassing us and threatening to kick us out because we were supposedly being too loud at 10 pm. Found this overly absurd since there were loud revelers right outside our windows on the terrace partying up. This establishment is probably more ept for people who turn in early. The price was high ($***/night) for what you got in return at the time of our stay (prob due to every other hotel being sold out that w/e) but the location was pre-mo if your looking to engage in the downtown district. I do recall the front reception & parking attendants being very helpful and professional. Regardless, I will not stay at a La Quinta in Downtown Austin ever again.

The hotel was very nice, and the staff was both pleasant and helpful. Valet parking is required and the charge is 12.99 daily, which in downtown Austin seems quite reasonable. The location made it easy to walk to the museums, capital, and local restaurants. Very nice stay!

This hotel was within walking distance to the State Capital and the night life on 6th street, yet was very affordable. Great staff at the hotel, also.

We stayed here a year ago, and there were overpowering paint fumes. We stayed here last weekend - and there were overpowering paint fumes. Why did we come back? Well, the location is about the greatest in Austin, close to UT and 6th Street, And they're pet-friendly, And we'd hoped that the remodelling would be done by now.

The room was just okay. The staff was okay. The location was okay. The breakfast was barely okay. The price was out of this world for the room and service. We stay in nice, and sometimes expensive hotels all over the nation, but this place was one of the worst values we've been in.

Location is great, however, the current remodeling effort is terribly mismanaged. they taped off and painted my hotel room door; I awoke to the strong smell of paint. This was soon followed by a nice handful of the same as I opened the door to inspect the source of the odor. The front desk was remarkably unresponsive/unsympathetic. Their attitude: "of course it smells like paint, we are painting." I'm a sucker for this hotel though due to its location; hope my next trip is long after the remodel.
