Was not horrible for the money but would never pay full price to stay there. Its near Busch Gardens but on the not so atractive side of town. Walls are thin, luckly was not that busy when we went. Only heard a couple car doors slam in the night. Room was pretty clean except the bathroom wall behind door was a little dirty. A/C cut on and off all nite. room would get hot not long after and it has a thermastat on the wall across from unit set on 71(I never set mine at home below 75)very noisy. Breakfast was ok. Pool was nice.

The room was really clean and the staff was great. Nothing. Iwas checking in really late and I called the hotel to warn them. After a four hour drive I walked into the hotel to find a smiling staff member who already prepared my check in papers. I was able to go to my clean room and go to sleep. All of the staff was super friendly. The next night I went to the pool. The pool area was clean.

Our hotel was right across from Busch Gardens. The room was clean, but the carpet was a little worn and not tacked down properly by the bathroom. The people at the hotel were all very friendly. The breakfast provided was good.

As we were going up to our room there was a window broken in one of the rooms, which was an unsafe feeling, considering the neighborhood. When we got to the room, it had a strange smell, which you got used to after awhile. There was hair in the tub, and seeing as we hadn't showered, it was obvious it hadn't been cleaned well. There weren't enough towels in the room. When they "cleaned" the room the next day, they didn't change the sheets on the bed, which we wanted done. I could tell by a mark on one of the sheets, it was still there. Very dusty, lots of allergy attacks. The pillows were horrible. The continental breakfast was a joke, the gravy for the biscuits and gravy was cold and the coffee tasted like mud, so thank goodness there was a Dunkin Donuts nearby. There were flies everywhere in the room where the breakfast was. Needless to say, we didn't go back for the breakfast the next day. It felt more like a soup kitchen. When we asked the cleaning lady for more towels the second day, she said she would bring them when she's done, never did. There were people slamming their doors all night long, which isn't the hotels fault, but it did add to the "ambiance" of the whole stay. All in all, it was dirty, and not worth the money. But the location was good, since we were there for Busch Gardens.

We decided to try this location that was about a mile closer to Busch Gardens than the other LaQuinta on Fowler... it was 10 bicks more and WOW- soooo not worth it. Please stay at the other locations (2 new ones withing 3 miles). This one was older and smaller...the rooms had new beds, but old carpet and flaking ceilings and not nearly enough parking near the rooms of this motel style hotel. The staff was nice,breakfast was good and if you are taking a cab, not driving to the park then this is much cheaper on fare. But overall, we won't be staying at this location again.

Thoroughly read all review; was a little skeptical about staying here but took a chance and very glad we did. Maybe it was that we were lucky ?? But our rooms were perfect! We had two standard king rooms (314 & 315) and one king suite (183) .... all three rooms were exceptionally clean ( I inspected everything from tubs, toilets, carpet, beds, and even under the beds). I am quite picky abou sleeping in strange quarters ... but these particular rooms I give an A for grade. The continental breakfast was good. But let me give you some advise: if you are here on a busy/holiday weekend as we were ... get to breakfast early as the breakfast room filled up by 7am and stayed packed through closing; we just took our breakfast back to our rooms to eat. Another piece of advise: if the front desk clerk tells you that you can walk to Busch Gardens gate .... well you can, and it is do-able HOWEVER do yourself a favor and drive. We walked to Busch Gardens the first day, never to do that again, we drove the second day. The walk was do-able but after walking all day in the park ... the walk back to the hotel was excruciating (I'm 53 and in good health ... but DO NOT recommend the walk!) I don't know about the rest of the hotel but our rooms were PERFECT right down to the complimentary bottled water and a good chocolate chip cookies in the rooms. WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THE ROOMS WE HAD

If you are simply looking for a cheap place to spend the night before (or after) your visit to Busch Gardens, this would be a good place to consider. It is indeed very close to the park, not quite walking distance but almost. The neighborhood is OK; not unsafe but quite plain. The room was a little run down but basically clean, the beds were OK. The free breakfast was surprisingly good. We wanted a non-smoking room; the first room we got had a smoking smell, but the front desk was apologetic and the next room was fine.If you want amenities or a fully new updated room, you will be disappointed. But if you want a cheap "family" place to stay extremely close to Busch Gardens (and a nice free breakfast), then consider this place. It's a 2- or 3-star type accommodation.

My kids and myself had a great time! The room was spacious, and the pool was big and clean. It was right across the street from Busch Gardens and within a close distance to the many attractions that we went to, such as the Museum of Scince and Industry(MOSI), The Florida Aquarium, Lowry Park Zoo, Sea World and of course, Busch Gardens! The staff was so friendly, could not ask for a better group of people!!! We came to this very hotel last year for a shorter vacation and loved it then too! Thank you so much for making our vacation so wonderful, my kids are constantly thanking me for this trip and the many memories that were made!

If you want a hotel that is close to everything within walking distance and not going to stay in the hotel much, than this is the place. The staff is very friendly. The continental breakfast is pretty good, but no denny's. Busch Gardens is within walking distance but is a a long walk because you have to walk around to the other side of the park to get in. Just pay the 8.00 for parking, trust me. You will really enjoy Busch Gardens and all the places that are not to far to drive to from the hotel as well. You definetly will not go hungry with all the eating places very close by to walk to. There is a all you can eat place right next to the hotel and every place to eat you can think of on the street. The negitives are 1- the pool is not heated, 2- The carpet s very dusty, although their was a carpet cleaner their the day that we were leaving. 3- The air conditioning unit would sometimes shut off in the middle of the night( but it worked well when it did not shut off and it did not do it too much. 4-there is a security guard there but I think she is just thier on the weekends. 5- you are kind of close to the street, but you probably won't here anything if you have your air running at night. I would recomend staying here if you want to see what tampa has to offer. Places close by that you might want to check out are the dog track, Busch gardens, the aqaurium downtown, YBOR city and the shops down thier, the beaches on Gulf BLVD. The LOWLY zoo, the science center, and whatever else.

The pool and pool area was nice and well maintained. The maid service did not come to our room to clean and when I addressed the desk clerk he said oh well they must had overlooked you. I would not stay in this hotel again, the rooms were older and had a musty smell. The room attendants did not clean our room and we were traveling with children and needed the trash taken out and the beds made. When the desk clerk was informed of this he did not seem to care. For the money there are several other hotels in the area with comparable pricing.

If you want a "party" motel, this is the one for you. When we checked in, there was a lot of activity around the pool. We thought, "OK, people are on vacation, time to have a little fun and let loose". The pool was supposed to close at 11PM (according to the posted sign). However, there were kids and adults running and screaming at all hours, and not just around the pool. When we went for the free breakfast in the morning, there were empty beer cases all over the motel. This continued to be the case during our entire stay. We were awakened at all hours. Additionally, the "suite" that we booked was not an oversized room as depicted on LaQuinta's website but two connecting rooms. Also absent was the hot tub depicted on the website. Breakfast items ran out and not replenished. Friendly staff, but will NEVER stay here again!!!

Check -in taken about an hour just because staff is slow. Pool was closed.Drunken people were screaming for entire night. Really bad experience. We have left the room at 5 am to do not hear it anymore.

It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The water was turned off because of a broken pipe so I wasn't able to take a shower or wash my hands. This hotel is great for a two star. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is very clean.

The good news is, our stay was brief. Only one night while waiting for a flight. Desk personnel were very polite and pleasant. Bad news is, grimy and run down hotel in a questionable section of town. Housekeeping should be informed that the WHOLE carpet needs vacuumed, not just the path from the door to the sink. Carpet had numerous stains. Ugly, ratty bedding. Bathroom - really do not want to see any forensic evidence of the last guest nor do I want to worry about the ceiling falling on me while I'm in the shower. Was not expecting much in the way of amenities but this room had nothing. Not even a little microwave. We've stayed at a couple other La Quinta locations and were very pleased. This place is best avoided.

Close to Busch Gardens. Security was questionable, location was convenient but did not feel safe. Older and dirty feel. We were tempted to leave and look elsewhere.

We went for a one day stop at Busch Gardens. The location was very convenient (5 minutes away from the main entrance). The staff was helpful and friendly. Although the room was non-smoking, there was a lingering faint cigarrette smell that we smelled for the night that we stayed there. The free breakfast was a nice convenience.
