The hotel was nice just an older one. The water pressure in the shower was slow and I had a problem with my door not wanting to shut but there wasnt anything I could do about that even maintenance couldnt fix it. Nothing that would cause me not to stay there again couldnt beat the price and location.

Location, friendly staff. Not very clean, and need a lot of maintenance.

The bed was pretty uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean, and the check in process went so fast! If you are looking for a peaceful spot in Daytona Beach, I would recommend this one. It is certainly not high class but instead reminds me of an airy beach house. The view was amazing, and the beach is right there so it is definitely worth the money. The drinks are cheap and there was ALWAYS parking!

We stayed here after a disappointment with another hotel not giving us what we booked. La Playa Resort is large with plenty of activities to do on scite and close by. The hotels and rooms are nice, however it could use some updating, maintance and cleaning. Our room was clean but you could tell it had not been taken care of very well and needed some updating and maintance. The management should really consider this...as it could be a magnificent place to stay. Of course we were here during the begining of April so they may let it go a little when it is not "season." Anway, we would definately stay here again because the price was good for what all was offered. However, beware of some of the front desk staff as some are not helpful or nice. They acted as if we were in their way. Maybe they should remeber without guests they have no job...or do they realy care?

My husband and I chose La Playa for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! The room was fantastic and at a great price, and the location was absolutely stunning. The room was comfy and cozy and the kitchenette was incredibly convenient. The view from the balcony... was just absolutely gorgeous. We loved our stay at La Playa and hopefully we'll be able to stay there if we ever go back to Daytona Beach!

There was nothing I liked about this hotel! It was run down and full of people doing drugs and the hotel falling apart! It was unsafe for my kids! La Playa is doing false advertisement! There rooms and facility isnothing like the pictures! The Railings were literally falling apart the rooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. The windows were so dirty you couldn't even see out of them. We did not stay This hotel is unsafe and unclean for anyone to stay at!

So after a long flight at the crack of dawn, we get to LaPlaya at noon and find that our room is not ready, and wont be ready until 4 pm. But we can be upgraded for an additional 10 a day. Big surprise. We take it. The room is kind of drab, has stains on the carpet, the bathroom is very small, the shower handle fell off in my hand and was not fixed after three times reporting it. The maid just stopped cleaning our room the last two days, the staff was 50/50 nice/not so nice. The best part was the proximity to the beach. Would i go there again. Probably not. And what hotel charges 5 dollars a day just to park on their property? Where else am i going to park? In the ocean?????

We had a great time at the La Playa. The staff was friendly and the hotel was great. This hotel is a perfect vacation for a family. The pool deck is huge with lots to do and the hotel is right across the street from a shopping plaza!

This hotel is in walking distance of stores and restaraunts. Beautiful view from balcanies. It was clean but missing some kitchen items that we had to request. The down side was several items in room in need of repair: closet doors, lights, remote for tv, hairdryer. For the price would stay again.

I was nervous about staying here, but it really was good for the price. we had a beachfront room with a great view, the room was older, and a little beat up, but it was clean, and the beds were fine.

When we went there was 4 adults and 2 kids in our party. We shared a room, the kids are 9 & 12yrs. old. they slept in sleeping bags, we had a great time, the tiki bar was right there for the adults and the pool for the kids, we were able to go right down the stairs to the beach and the traffic on the beach there wasn't bad at all. We stayed on the 9th floor and the comedy club was on the tenth. It was a pretty good show. The rooms were a normal size, we stayed in 1 that was a double efficiency, the Kitchen had a table, apartment size frig and stove, microwave, toaster, & coffee maker. I was worth the money we spent. We even read the other reviews on the website before going and if you a southern person you will enjoy this hotel, otherwise it seems the northern folk don't like it so much. We had a great time while we were there and would recommend it to anyone. We will even stay again. The location is perfect! There is a publix across the street and the best restaurant in town about a mile down the road "Bonefish Grille". There is a Walgreens and a lot of other places, Ruby tuesday, subway, Bealls, Etc.... It was a great 3-day vacation the only problem was it wasn't long enough!!!!! Take Care and Have a blast in daytona.

We had a great time. The location was awsome. With a rental care we were able to go to various places.Like musuems, lighthouse, chocolate factory, the speedway, comedy show. We went to Orlando, went on a air boat ride, gatorland, Titanic tour, went to a Luau dinner. We found lots of great resturants. We would do this again.

Great service, friendly staff, clean room, perfect location; big grocery store and the "best Dollar Store on the E. Coast" just across the street, $25 cab fare from the airport.

We booked our stay at a place we thought was good, the hawaiian. We were so wrong. The lobby was caving in, the place was moldy and dank. We went to the front desk and wanted to leave. The clerk and manager fought with us over us wanting to leave. were on vacation and these people are just rude. Finally we got our money back got in the car and were driving down the street and we see a sign, rooms 800-daytona. So we call and get a very informative person who after hearing what we need reccomends the LaPlaya. We check in and the rooms are hugh, they are overlooking the ocean and the view is incredible. The beds were perfectly comfortable the ac was great. We spent the day at the pool listening to the music and enjoying the tiki bar. What a Great Stay.

LaPlaya Hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have never paid so much and received so little. This hotel is in a very bad state of repair. Upon check-in I was given two key cards that did not work. I had to walk back and forth to the office three times in 97 degree weather to get the cards recharged. When I finally got into the room, I found the balcony door sealed shut with a devise that was impossible to open. I tried to call the front desk to report the problem but the room phone did not work. Upon discovering the dead phone, I had to resort to my cell phone. I reported the locked door and dead phone to the front desk. The customer representative told me that she would send the maintenance man to my room. I waited for the maintenance man for two hours. I called the front desk. The customer service representative told me that he will be there shortly. I waited for seven hours. Finally I caught the night time maintenance supervisor ([...]) walking near my room. I asked him if he was coming to my room the fix the door. He told me that his department never received a work order for our room. The time was 11:45PM. He told me that he couldn't fix my door because he was going home. I had to beg him to fix my door. He finally did.I had to wait until the following day for someone to fix the phone. The carpet was old and smelt musty. When we finally were able to sit on the balcony we found only one chair. We had to call the front desk again to report the problem. We found very large aunts crawling all over the chairs of the balcony. We could not use our balcony so we sat at the pool. My wife was bit buy one of the aunts. This hotel should never be rated any higher than one star. It is a very old hotel that needs to be shut down until it is totally remodeled.I am worried about using orbitz again.

My husband and I and our 2 kids - ages 8 & 13 were suppose to stay here for 3 nights/4 days. Within an hour of checking in we had changed into 3 different rooms. This is a very old, outdated and not kept up hotel. The floors were damp and stained. The walls had never been wiped down, everything including the frig, stove, light fixtures, door knobs, curtain rods, etc......were solid rust. They had not even changed the bed sheets. When we pulled the sheets back there was ALOT of mens chest/body hair and the sheets looked like they had been slept in and not changed! The ceiling was laying in the floor in 2 of the rooms. It had just rotted and collasped into the floor. The air conditioning unit in one room did not work, but in all 3 rooms.....all the wiring was hanging out from under the air units and was just laying out in the open. They charged us for a safe that we didn't even use. Most of the lights didn't even work. The door facings had new untreated wood trim around them.....not painted or anything. We have done alot of traveling and never been so grossed out and angry at a hotel that doesn't bother to show the real pictures. Its like after they had a hurricane they just air dried the rooms and opened back up. We checked out immediately!!! If you care about your family/friends or your vacation.......you'll not check into this place. It honestly needs to be condemned. The smell of mustiness and mold will turn your stomach. I can not believe that whoever checks these places out has not shut them down.......there are so many violations. It is not safe for toddlers/children.
