Staying in the heart of La Jolla cove for the room rates this hotel offered, totally makes the less-than-posh accommodations worthwhile.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location was excellent. The room could have been a little larger. Excellent staff and comfortable surroundings. Everybody was very helpful, the continental breakfast was tasty and the location was perfect for the beach or shopping. I will definitely return.

It was a very quaint small hotel. Enjoyed our stay very much and the breakfast every morning. The only drawback was the parking. Quite a walk, but otherwise every thing was just fine.

My wife and I wanted to stay in La Jolla and we are on a tight budget due to the economy. We heard about this hotel from some friends of ours and decided to give it a try. We loved the location because it's centrally located to everything. We loved the staff because they made our stay an enjoyable one. We loved the price because we found the other hotels to be more expensive and didn't offer as much as the La Jolla Inn. Couldn't have been happier. We highly recommend!

We had a great time at La Jolla Inn. Continental Breakfast was good, but it is only served in room or sun deck and it takes a while to get to you. Parking was hard. The rooms are very small but cute. We got an ocean view and we loved it. You are just within walking distance from the "walking tour" by the ocean, excellent location. Very nice area. You can also walk to nice restaurants at night. It was definitely worth for the money.

Great location. Close to beach and shops. Room wasvery small. Walls werethin. Great location close to beach and shops, but rooms are very small and a bit tired looking. Eight rooms are accessed directly from the street. Some travelers might not feel safe in these. These rooms also get a lot of street noise. Book early and try to request a room on an upper floor.

Insisted on checkout by 11:00 and charged a hefty fee if more than 30 minutes late. Staff unfriendly and parking inconvenient. Beds too soft. Too much emphasis on charging for amenities in room (pleasantly surprised that breakfast was included).

The staff was friendly and the hotel was in a perfect location for walking around. Great breakfast brought to your room and afternoon snack. The room was a little small, but clean. We enjoyed our stay there.

Location. There was a terrible head odor in the pillows & bedding. The kicker was the smell of the room from the odor of someone's head of the pillows & bedding. Also, not for handicapped since stairs only.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a quick getaway from our home in L.A. and absolutely loved it! The location couldn't have been better. The staff couldn't have been nicer. We loved it and plan on being back!

this was one of the worst experiences of my life we checked out after 8 hours rooms were damp old smelly and beds were terrible

The location was wonderful. Next to everything. The beach, shops, restaurant and night life. The staff wasn't the most polite. They didn't seem to go out of their way to provide excellent customer service.

"My wife and I absolutely loved this hotel. The location was excellent and the staff was extremely friendly. Our room had flowers on our private balcony with a fantastic view of the ocean. They have wireless, breakfast and free parking. We will definately be back soon!"

Parking is terrible! When we arrived at the hotel, there was a local bus shuttle parked in front so we could not park and check in. After we went around the block (in bumper-to-bumper traffic taking nearly a half hour), the bus shuttle was still there. After much more hassle, we finally got to check in only to be told that YOU HAVE TO PARK THREE BLOCKS AWAY! That was just the beginning. THE ROOM WAS THE SIZE A CLOSET! It was hot and humid to the point that you could not use the bathroom without getting sweaty. Even the toilet had sweat/condinsation from the humid air. The toilet would not turn off one night, then the next day it kept breaking (which I fixed myself). The light in the closet decided to work only when it wanted too. THE BED WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. If you like quiet then this is not the place for you as it is very close to the center of activity. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Staff was very helpful. The bed was atrocious. If you like a town like La Jolla, then this is a good locale. Convenient to the shore and the seals. However, the hotel itself is oddly shaped and it results in very bizarre room configurations, accentuated with strikingly poor furniture placement. Add to that the shockingly poor mattress.

My wife and I stayed for our 25th anniversary. The hotel is very convenient to everything in La Jolla but only has about 20 rooms. They provide free parking in a garage 3 blocks from the hotel. I never moved the car in two days. The rooms are very nice but small. This is an older hotel that has been renovated but the rooms are small. There is a small patio for each room in the hotel. All rooms have a view of the ocean. They provide a continental breakfast to your room each morning and provide cookies and lemonade each afternoon. The people running the hotel are very nice and helpful.

Our ocean view room was very small. We had to stand up in the balcany to see the ocean. The balcany was very small (maybe 7'x4')and needed to be cleaned. The room smelled and was very stuffy. The wall air conditioner was just okay. The bathroom appeared run-down and needed work. The staff was nice. However, we were so glad to check out as it was not the 4 or 5 star hotel represented. Would not stay there again. If location is the only thing you are interested in, then this hotel would be perfect.

Great location and view. Attractiveness of room/restroom. The staff was very helpful and provided great service when required. The location is excellent. Shops, restaurant, and beach are located within walking distance.

The location of this hotel is ideal for La Jolla. The views are great, and it is just a short walk away from great dining, the Cove, and fabulous shops. While the bed we had was not that comfortable, the complimentary breakfast more than made up for it. The warm pastries and croissants were fabulous and the afternoon homemade cookies and lemonade were also great. I also loved that they delivered breakfast to the room. There is no elevator, so we had to carry our stuff and stroller up the stairs, but other than that the hotel was fine.

It had a great location. The room was exceptionally small. While the location was fabulous and the staff great, the room was very small, the bathroom had no vanity or counter space at all. Forget parking anywhere near the hotel, but that was due to its location. All in all, I'd go back but only for a short stay.
