LJB&T is old comfort..it is location, location,location...Menu is GREAT...in room and out...staff is courtous, respectful and friendly...My only problem were stairs...asked for none, got some...no relocating, so we lived with it....we are not handicaped, but do have some limitation. Grounds are beautiful, lots of fun activities for all ages. Pro shop well supplied with goodies. Bar, friendly, bartender knowledgable about area. Great menu, beautiful presentation on all dishes, even breakfast....A+. I am not sure of visitors charge,it is an odd fee, but whatever, just be aware it exists....All in all great stay, I would recommend it in off season as well as in.

Location, service, freindly attitudes, free wireless internet. Room a little small, no desk, can't watchTV from chair. Very good location on shelter island. Close to things, yet private. Banquet facilities do a great job for parties, weddings, etc. group rates available.

My family stayed there this past feb and it was the best time we ever had!!! We are poorer than church mice, but we were treated very well by the staff. We reserved a standard room but we arrived late and they gave us a 2 bedroom cottage at no extra charge with a back yard and with a place to store our kayak. My girls sunbathed in the backyard , I cooked in the full kitchen, They even had a bar b q,, fireplace, and 2 bathrooms!!! we loved the huge lake, kids playground, and the private beach,and especially the private showers .... (yes some of the older ladies were very snobby but we didn't care, we went kayaking all day and found that the seals were quite friendly!!!!) we wanted to stay again in the summer but they were too full . hey were talking so cal... we are going to stay again in dec. maybe we will arrive too late again and get the cottage.... thank you... beach club, Tom,Vicki, and kids

Good luck getting in. Unless your family has been a member for twenty years or been visiting the resort for twenty years, consider yourself second maybe third class.
