Was there for a short stay, so didn't try many of the amenities. The jacuzzis were open late, so that was nice. Service was good, and they were able to accomodate a complicated special request without any problems. Took a look at the golf course (not enough time to play, unfortunately) and while it looked to be in fine shape, it wasn't in the immaculate condition you'd expect for a course in that price range. Rooms were spacious, spotless and comfortable, but isn't it time to upgrade to an HD TV package? Over-the-air broadcasts seem antiquated.

Right from the beginning when I arrived, the valet tried to take control of my car before I even checked in. Upon check in, I was made aware of the *daily self park charge (which necessitates a shuttle) or pay *Per day for valet parking, there were no other choices. You can?t pull the car close to the room, because there are no parking spaces. The pathways are shared by golf carts driven fast by employees who expect you to give them the right of way. I almost got run over several times. These people seem to forget that they are here to help create my relaxing experience, which I did not have at this location. The first evening upon arrival, I went to the lounge bar an ordered a martini and was blown away by the *price tag. The location of the lounge bar is right above the children?s play area with noises of air-hockey and fuss ball machines drifting upward to where I was trying to enjoy my expensive martini. When I travel I like to lay by the pool, but here I couldn?t relax by the pool because of too many screaming children. There are no adult-only pools on this property. Most Properties that charge this much per room have at least one adult-only pool. There is the 22.00 per day resort charge for the use of the pool, the gym, entry only into the spa lobby, a newspaper at the door, and free coffee in the room (every motel has a coffee machine in the room), and free access to the internet (the only thing I used). The first room I was offered smelled like damp rug, and there was too much noise from the room above. Once I got moved I was happier. Except for the noisy children and the inconsiderate adults playing with them outside my resort room window, everything else was OK.

This is a beautiful resort with a lot to offer traveling families. The kids ammenities are great, for little ones all the way up to teens. Food is a bit over-priced with a breakfast buffet @ $18 and dinner for 3 over $100. However, the surrounding beach towns offer an abundance of restaurant options for extremely affordable rates. So rent a car and go for a drive down Highway 101 and explore all that the area has to offer. This is the second time that we have traveled and stayed a week at this resort. The room that we first received left much to be desired. We backed up to a loading dock that had noisey trucks show up at 5am each morning. Thankfully, upon request, the resort moved us to another room on a nice quiet courtyard. The service at this resort is top notch. There are always staff all over the grounds, waiting to make sure you're having a nice stay. We give it a 8 out of 10 rating. Go enjoy some time at this gem.

For as much money as we spent, I expected more luxery. My courtyard was covered in cigarette butts, and my 2 year old picking them up. The bathroom was disgusting, but after I called front desk they cleaned, but did not clean up cigarette butts. They tell you they can provide a crib for your little one, and when we got there it was just a little pack and play. The pool was very nice...they keep it nice and warm. This is a very snooty place, so if that is not for you, don't stay here. It is also about 1/2 hour outside of San Diego, so plan accordingly.

La Costa is kid friendly & is also a great place for couples. It's located away from the busy city life, so it's a wonderful quiet place to relax. BEAUTIFUL landscaping. Definitely coming back!

This was our first holiday away with kids. We thoroughly enjoyed the service. It was outstanding. Our room was very clean and had a beautiful view of the grounds. There is an abundance of activities for the children, ours loved the pool and Kidtopia. The restaurants had delicious food and the room service was fast. This is a top resort, expect to pay for the extras. It's worth it, this resort is only a short drive to the beach and all amenities. Definitely worth staying there!

Hotel was great for us. Three children age 5 to 6 enjoyed the pool and the location near Legoland. Staff was great. The only thing I have to criticize is the onsite pricing for dinner and drinks. Its just too expensive.

I stayed here for four nights while my 12 year old son attended a camp nearby. I was traveling without my husband. I had to preview four rooms before I found one that was to my liking- some rooms were very noisy- near car park and/ or housekeeping facilites. Our room was fine, if a little small. The beds could be upgraded. Most four star and up hotels now have spa type beds with down liners and comforters, etc. The family pool area was great with a wonderful slide, but extremely crowded. The spa pool area is fabulous for adults but you must have a treatment booked to use it or pay an extra * even if you are a hotel guest. The spa facilities are wonderful and my massage was great. The valet parking area is a nightmare. Extrememly crowded with long waits. The resort also has a membership component plus functions like weddings, etc. and everyone uses the same parking area. One night I had to go and find my own car or I was going to be late picking up my son. Use the self park, it is not that far and worth the walk. Most employees were really nice and helpful but our room didn't get cleaned until 3-4:00PM every day. Overall, our experience was really good but, if possible, avoid the weekends- very crowded!

We spent our Honeymoon here and must say it was unforgettable! The cost is expensive but it was well worth it! We live in the area, but wanted to get away after eloping on the beach in Del Mar! As honeymooner's in the off season we were well taken care of! Room service had excellent selection and was delicious! But the main feature we will be back for was the spa! We spent 3-4 hours a day with so many ammenaties it was hard to leave! Relaxing in the steam room and getting scrubbed before the massage, then meeting my husband outside for lunch, roman showers or soaking in the hot tub together. We were able to relax, connect, and cuddle together in our robes on the lounge chairs and watch the sun set. We enjoyed the room (golf course view) and had so much privacy that we brought our DVD player and stayed in bed all night! Also enjoyed the spacious soaking tub in room! We had gifts sent from friends (wedding cake, flowers, mini christmas tree, candles) none of which was disturbed by the cleaning staff... making us feel at home! Thank you La Costa!

found the resort to be family friendly, while maintaining a peacefulness. we did not travel with children and found our trip very enjoyable. We used the spa and the restaurnats and found everyone to be acommadating and friendly. The resort was acessible to the highway, and concierge had great recommendations of where to go in the area, ie wineriers, restaurants in Lajolla and beaches. All i can say is we loved it. We would definitely come back here again.

Stayed at La Costa for a week with our 8 year old. Got upgraded to a one-bedroom villa room. Has a full kitchen, two full baths, two balconies, two tv's, etc. It was like staying in a presidential suite. Our son had a blast in the Kidtopia. They showed outdoor movies at night by pool. Even we were hooked. Lots of activities for kids, golf for my husband and spa for me. The grounds were beautifully kept and staff were friendly. Definitely go back there again!!

LaCosta Resort and Spa was exactly what we were looking for. We had a room with a golf course view and a veranda. It was quiet with a beautiful view. The pool area was very clean and very well kept up. The room was very clean and the hotel staff were friendly. Parking was about the only issue, if you do choose not to valet park, the self-parking lot is quite a far walk to your room. We really enjoyed ourselves and I would recommend this place to my friends and family.

The LaCosta resort is a very beautiful resort. Landscaping is great. It is very big. Pools are nice, nothing phenomonal. Staff was very accomodating and very nice. Remote batteries dead (I put my own in), internet connection didn't work (got fixed) Molding in bath splitting bad do to water damage from shower. Telephone in bath didn't work. I am not sure if I would stay there again.
