Surrounded by art galleries, boutiques, and fine dining, we are within driving distance of John Wayne Orange County Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, as well as the Anaheim Convention Center. Additionally, we are within 30 minutes of major attractions such as Disneyland, Disney's Great Adventure, and Knotts Berry Farm. And don't forget the golfing! The Aliso Viejo Golf Club, Pelican Hill Golf Course, and The Links@Monarch Beach are all nearby. And if you time it right, you'll see whales from our Roof deck as they make their semi-annual migration.

The location is perfect. You step out of the hotel and you are steps away from the beach. Their rooftop bar and grill is great for sunsets and their restaurant K'ya offers a lovely small bites menu with a huge selection. My only problem was that the noise level was high. The trash trucks came by our window and there was renovation construction going on durring ou stay.

Staff was very friendly and the restaurants were excellent. Very small rooms.

Beautiful hotel, retained the 1920's decor with antique furniture and original architechture. Hotel was in the process of remodeling which was minimally annoying. Work stopped early on Friday so it was not a real problem. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooftop lounge had a wonderful sunset view over the ocean. Restaurant on premisis, K'ya had wonderful breakfasts, reasonable price, but "self-service". Live music in the lobby which was very popular, attracted large groups. Restaurant is within 15 minutes of John Wayne airport (with little traffic). Right in the center of the Laguna Beach galleries and restaurants. Parking is free, but a block away, lot filled up on a Friday night, but metered parking on the street is free until 8:00 a.m., so it worked out. Looking forward to another stay.

The good: a stairway from the ocean. Beach attendants to issue chairs, towels and water. The breakfast was good. The staff were friendly, if a bit on the young side. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. The bad: loud booming music every night until about 1:00 am. A room so small that you could sit on the toilet and wash your hands at the same time. Parking is a nightmare. They issue a permit for a lot that is across the street that you share with a restaurant. Completely inadequate. The rooftop bar is the big draw. The guests are secondary.

SUper fun hotel for fun loving people. Roof top bar is the best! Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Can't beat location right on beach and a few minutes from downtown.

Location, free internet, and decent restaurant. Noisy, rowdy guests and street noise. This hotel is charming, old world feel, antique furnishings. However, rooms are generally small. Because it's an old hotel, noises in the hallway and adjoining rooms are audible. In addition, because it's right on the main boulevard, there is street noise if you're in a front room. Staff is very helpful and accommodating.

5 days/6 nights... BEAUTIFUL place! Smaller YES...but warm and cozy. The deck is being rebuilt )-:, but that needs to be done sometime...but the interference from the workers was MINIMAL. Lovely area! Will go BACK AGAIN & AGAIN! Laguna is INCREDIBLE!

I was taking by how truly friendly the front desk staff was. I love their genuine smiles and their efforts in trying to get us what we needed. The hotel is busy at nights. Next time I will make reservations for hotel and roof top bar since last weekend all tables where reserved on Friday and Saturday. Fun place for singles. Great piano player at the lobby are. Don't plan on taking kids, but great for couples and singles. AS a suggestion for the Hotel manager: The Lobby area needs a touch: re-arrange the furniture, change the drapes and just un-clugg the area. You wil see how nicer it would look!!

The location and attentive staff were terrific. Our room was very small. Great hotel in a great location. Its walking distances to town but out of the way enough to be quieter. Fabulous beach just steps from the hotel. The staff was very accommodating and we felt welcome. This hotel is quite a find.

I came here for my friend's wedding. He was bumped from his room because another wedding couple got here earlier and they overbooked. My room was right on HWY 1, which was fine because they said it wasn't for the light sleeper. The problems started when I found out my room was on top of the bar/restaurant, they had booming noise starting at 5pm. Tfe whole reason my friend decided to make this the spot for the wedding party was the roof deck/terrace. It was under construction, and they didn't tell him. Real nice. They have about 4 wifi hotspots, none of which worked. The only decent connection had a password, and the front desk gave me two options to enter, neither of which worked. They did bring me a LAN cable, though, which was nice. The worst part about the trip was that the roof construction crew started at exactly 8am, pounding and sawing on the roof. They said they were authorzed to start at 8am. The front desk didn't stop them until 8:40, and let them start again at 9am. Serious pounding on the walls. It was absolutely insane. The staff was nice and there was free parking, which was cool, but basically, this place was a decent spot to store luggage. If you stay here, make sure to ask them if there's any construction going on and confirm that all the amenities will be in order before you arrive.

we found the hotel to be very non-user friendly. from getting the bags to the room - to the amenities in the room. rooms are small out dated and out of touch with the way people of today travel. in our first room the bathroom window could not close completely and the second was arranged in a way that made circulation around the bed to the bathroom very tight. in addition to the bad rooms - the hotel staffed worked into the night breaking up the tables and chairs from a private party held earlier that evening. the hotel management failed to recognize that all customers of the hotel should be treated 'special' not just the huge money customers. my advice - stay elsewhere until this hotel decides it wants to be in this century.

The location was great that is why we stayed there. The room was tiny. Very old. Loud music and lights outside our window. I seriously think the bed had bed bugs. My wife and I both woke up with small bug bites on our feet and they itched like crazy. I seriously would not pay money to stay there again.

I stayed here with a couple friends and we had an awesome time. Though the roof was closed for construction and improvements, I thought they were careful about any interruptions during our stay, and we were on the 3rd floor. We had one of the largest rooms, an ocean view and plenty of space. I loved opening the window before going to sleep and listening to the ocean, easy to fall asleep. We woke up each morning for coffee and breakfast in the restaurant and the service was excellent, we ordered room service one day, as we were a bit tired from the night before. The staff was very attentive and considerate of any requests we had during our stay. We were lucky that the weather was nice and sunny during our stay and nice enough to go to the beach in front of the hotel. The staff provided beach towels and chairs. I would love to return to this hotel...so much warmth, charm and the comforts of home. A +

The hotel staff made up for the noise level. We aren't the late-night party type. The noise from downstairs was very loud until very late at night. We had to walk down a lot of stairs to get to the beach. BUT the staff was great! They made up for anything that was negative. I brought left-overs from another Restaurant and the downstairs restaurant heated it up for me the next morning, served it on a regular plate and added bread to my meal! My husband bought a meal from them and I bought a soda. Even after check-out time the staff let us borrow beach chairs and towels and even had some sunscreen to lend us.

My husband and i came here for our "babymoon". this hotel was recommended by a friend. when we arrived we had to park about a block away. upon checkin staff was friendly. we were so excited to see our room. as we walked down the cramped hallway we opened the door to our room and were so disappointed. we could practically touch each wall in the room standing in one place. tthe bedding however was nice and modern. the bathroom was so small you certainly could not fit two people at once (forget about taking a bath). our view was horrendous of the trash cans, and we were awoken by the garbage men. breakfast was mediocar with poor service. we went to the rooftop to see the view which once you look over the rooftops of all the homes, you can kind of see a moderate view. we checked out a day early. not worth the money.

There was some reservation error between orbitz and the hotel on my reservation but the staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel condition was very cozy and all the furniture is very antigue but room was little bit smaller than I expected. Specially I liked the breakfast from the restaurant on 1st foor, which was free.

Superb food. Great location, friendly front desk. We had a great time at this hotel and plan to go there next year and stay for a week. Never left the hotel to eat any other place. Only down side was the temperature regulation which was difficult...heater was full blast and impossible to regulate. Otherwise, an idyllic spot and a great place for the money.

"We really enjoy the ?homey? feeling during our stay at this hotel. Although the rooms are not large, it is cozy, clean and warm. We also enjoyed the view from our room and the guest service from the front desk. We really enjoy the history of this hotel and if you are looking for a 5 star fancy hotel, then this may not be a suitable hotel for you. You might want to inquire about parking before arriving. Dining at the on-site restaurant is a must, great food!!! "

The views, the bar, the small but confortable rooms make this place a real winner for a romantic get-away.

"Great place for the money. Right near the ocean, but not on the ocean. Did not get a chance to eat in the hotel restaurant, but I heard from others it was good. Great location. Quaint small rooms but clean and comfortable. Pleasant staff and very pleasant decor. We had a great room that you could see the ocean from but not all the rooms are that way. So you need to know that before you check in and see if you can manuver to a room with a view. We would definitely stay there again. "
