We went there on our honeymoon and the hotel was absolutely AMAZING! The rooms were great (NOT 960SqFt as advertised though - more like 500SqFt), the beach and pools were spotless and the weather was great (I'm not sure I can attribute that to the hotel though...). However, whilst the restaurants were generally excellent (especially breakfast!), there aren't many other options around the area - if you come to Cancun to taste the local cousin (....?!), then this may not be your place. Otherwise, just hurry up and book - NOW!

Mostly relaxed by the pool and beach. Very relaxing and peaceful location. Staff was very attentive and professional. Dinner menu was the same every night. Specials were not always announced. Had to ask a few times.

Unbelievable hotel. 5-star rooms. 5-star service. Staff is wonderful and bends over backwards to serve the clientele. Best if you prefer to stay on the grounds of the hotel because you are away from most of Cancun. This is a plus if you like quiet, relaxing, and secure...or a minus if you like to be in the middle of everything. The only downside for the hotel is the limited dining choices. The food is excellent, but only one restaurant choice available for each meal. Overall, for a romantic getaway or for a quiet vacation, this could not be a nicer place.

This is very unique hotel in Cancun, it is small and quiet, perfect for a few days to relax and forget about everything. Its location is great as the north part of Cancun is very undeveloped, so you don't see many people in the beach besides the hotel guests and the next door Excellence hotel. The beach is great, it is wide and clean, although you might see some weed from time to time. The hotel overall is spotless, very new with lots of space in the rooms and around. The Spa is very good and the water treatment is really good, a must if you visit the hotel. Food is great, specially the Mexican, and surprisingly for a hotel of this quality is reasonabily priced. The staff is very friendly and responsive everywhere. They are always looking for the guests. Would likely go back to La Amada in the future.

If you want quiet luxury, La Amada is the best. It is definitely the best experience we have had in Cancun area. The resort is new so it really hasn't been discovered yet. We are glad we experienced it before the rest of the world finds out about it. There were not many people, so it felt like we had this luxury hotel to ourselves. The staff couldn't do enough for us, they were accommodating and personable. They had large beach towels everywhere without the hassle of checking them out like other resorts bother with. The hotel is beautiful, the landscaping is awesome, and the Spa is sophisticated and luxurious. The dining options are limited but more are expected as the resort's condominium complex opens. All of our dining was excellent at the Aroma and the beautiful pool grill. The staff was always seeing to our needs whether on the beach or by the pool; if you looked like you needed something they were there to help but not intrusive. You have endless miles of beautiful beach, the only negative thing I can say about the Hotel is that the water is not the caribbean blue that is so beautiful. The water is perfectly clear, it is very shallow along the beach area and I am told it is the depth of the water that creates the blue color.

My best friend and I did a great deal of research and came across La Amada. She has traveled to Cancun before and I have been to Mexico three times before so we were fairly familiar with what we were looking for. Our vacation was also to celebrate her birthday and to have a restful relaxing get away. We achieved both of our goals and she remarked more than once this was the best birthday she had ever had. First off let me say the staff is bar none some of the best I have ever encountered. My only disappointment was due to the fact there was some incosistent service experiences we encountered (namely in room service both in order accuracy and quality). However, I and my friend felt like queens. Our every whim was catered to -- from special menu requests, to our morning breakfast server always knowing exactly what I wanted and having it waiting for me once I sat at the table!As has been shared here previously the hotel just opened in February and you can still see some quirks that need to be ironed out but I suspect with time they will be addressed. The grounds to the hotel are beautiful and other than the hotel next door the area is pretty remote from the party hustle of Cancun. This was exactly what we were looking for but if you are anxious to party this is NOT the hotel for you. The food here was the BEST food I have ever had while traveling. I have traveled a great deal and always been only marginally happy with the meals. This was not the case at La Amada. Meals at either of the two restraunts were heavenly. The Executive Chef is a marvel and a fun guy to hang out with. I cannot also stress enough how much you should, dare I say must, partake of services at the spa. The staff are great, (special thanks to [...] and others there) and the Aqua Viva circuit is beyond words. As you can read we loved it here and are already thinking of our return trip. Staying at La Amada was unbelievable. You should stay here if you are looking to relax, would like 5 star amenities and service, and have an empty beautiful white sandy beach to yourself. The spa is excellent and the food is not to be missed. You should definitely stay here before it is priced like it should be (much higher). A great place for rest, relaxation, tranquility, but you should definitely not stay here if you are looking for a wild all-inclusive with a lot of activities and rowdy college-age kids.

La Amada exceeded my expectations! The pictures do not justify the beauty of the hotel or the beach. The staff are thoughtful, pleasant, but non-intrusive. My boyfriend and I decided to go to Cancun for my 25th b-day, but also wanted to relax and we couldn't have picked a better place. You are immediately greeted by Merle, the conceirage, who's very knowledgeable about the area and can get you information for anything! As you check in you are given chilled towels and champagne! Our room was a junior swim up suite that was fabulous, but on the 2nd day of our stay, my birthday, we found that the jacuzzi was not working properly. We called the front desk, they sent someone down immediately and when they could not solve the problem we just shrugged it off. However, Jean Francious, the general manager, felt that more had to be done so that I could get the best out of my birthday and not only did he move our room, but he upgraded us to an EXECUTIVE SUITE ON THE BEACH!!! It was FABULOUS! After getting moved, the chef then sent up a cake for my birthday! The day turned out to be way better than expected. All I have is positive praise for the hotel and its staff. When I return to Cancun it will be to La Amada....

The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The rooms were amazing. A true five star experience. My wife couldn't believe how nice the room were. The beach was beautiful. The hotel recently opened earlier this year, so there wasn't many guests there. The stay was peaceful and relaxing. We will definitely come back.

Most relaxing spot we ever had. Everything was perfect. We enjoyed everything, especially the wold class kitchen, the friendly staff, the contemporary design, the chill out life music and the walks at the endless empty beach.

We stayed at the resort one week after opening. The facility was immaculate. The staff was very eager to please and the spa and restaurant were first class. The beach was perfect (no rocks) and there were plenty of chairs to go around. The spa facility was absolutely awesome and reasonably price for the service provided. The breakfast was also delicious. Dulce, the concierge, was very professional and knowledgeable about the island and activities and went the extra mile to meet the needs of the customers. Away from the hotel, we recommend La Habichuela for dining. The food and atmosphere were great. It's about a $20 cab ride from the resort each way. One downside is that the cab as $80 from the airport, however it was only $35 to return. Also, the service was initially slow but got better as the staff got more experience handling customers. The gym was nice but the equipment was sub par. While there are only two restaurants on the property, the menu offered a wide variety of selections and the prices were reasonable. There were a few other suggestions that could be made overall but all minor. If youre looking to party, this is not the place for you. However, if you want to relax and be pampered book now! We think overall you will love the experience.
