Hotel Kris - Value For MoneySo we just stayed at the Hotel Kris Alicante, in May 09. The Hotel is ideally located just a short walk (5 mins) to the beach, about 10 mins to the Harbour area and the same into Alicante Old Quater. We paid 210 Euro's for 4 nights, including breakfast. The buffet breakfast was really good, lots of choice and fresh food. The staff are friendly and efficient. The only small niggles were that we had no chairs or table on our Balcony and had to ask for these (delivered quickly to the room) and we asked to move room on arrival as our first room had a balcony door that didnt lock. We were moved quickly with no hassle to a room with the seaview! If you want a cheap and clean hotel, near everything, the Hotel Kris is it. Its not luxurious in anyway but a bargain and clean.

Pleasant basic hotel. Clean and friendly. Nice swimming pool. Free covered, locked parking. Short walk to centre of old Alicante, past the castle and gypsy quarter. Five minutes from the beach. Ideal hotel for staying in Alicante before an early flight from the airport (15 minutes drive away).

This hotel is shown on the Late Rooms website map in the wrong position. It is not central as shown but nearly a kilometre from the town centre. I would not have booked rooms at Hotel Kris Alicante had I known this.

- Good location, very convenient transport,- friendly receptionist and staff in the restaurant,- spacious roomsHowever:- There is no noise isolation between the rooms, you can clearly hear what the people next doors are even talking. Impossible to relax, the room doors are banging all the time and is extremely annoying.- Very disturbing noisy cleaners, talking very loudly, chatting all the time. Even I put a sign "do not disturb", TWICE!! the cleaners knocked several times in my door and even came inside!!!! Overall, not very good experience as the reason for my trip was to relax and enjoy away from work.

Great hotel with good travel links to and from the centre! Nice clean hotel not far from the centre was perfect for our 1 night stay. Breakfast was a perfect continental - lots to choose from and lovely.Metro tram service runs directly to and from the centre (Mercado) to the hotel (get off at Marq, it is just just 1 stop) arriving in approx 5mins, a bus stop is also situated at the entrance of the hotel. Commercial shopping centre across the way -housing the usual spanish high street brands, a supermarket, and I think they also had a cinema.Very cute guy on reception - provided great customer service & did his job excellently. Will definitely book again!

BreakawayThe accomodation was good but we wpui;d have liked to have had the facility to make a tea or coffee when we wanted one which was a bit dissapointing. The location of the hotel for us was fine although it was a decent walk to get into the centre or to the Marina. The Hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. They dont speak much English and I do not speak much Spannish but we managed to communicate and I personally would rather an authentic atmosphere. I believe we English should not expect everyone to speak English and we should try to speak other languages. In terms of value for money we got a special deal as we were staying more than three nights.

Parking expensive at the hotel but we found parking nearby fairly easily

Good location about 15-20 walk at a leisurely pace to the old town. Only minutes away from the tram station with connections into the centre plus along the coast to resorts such as Benidorm etc.Found no problems with the staff who were very helpful and spoke excellent English.

major road works made our sat nav unusable so we had huge difficulties finding the hotel espically as the address had been abrivated from manuel to ml so we didn't key in the correct address. the hotel in o'k in a holiday inn express style. ok for a short stayover but i would have been dissapointed if i'd booked a longer time as a holiday stay

First impressions of the hotel were great. Nice entrance, smelled very clean & fresh. The room itself was ok, nice bathroom etc.. could use a lick of paint!!! Booked a double room, actually got 2 single beds pushed together with seperate bedding! Not ideal!!The hotel offers "Free WIFI" which is a great offer, unfortunately its rubbish. Yes it is free, but on the rare occasion you actually manage to connect to a page before it times out, it won't last!!!It also offers cable/satalite tv. But the remote won't change channels & is held together with tape!!Breakfast is ok, nothing amazing, but ok. They are a little over fussy with their taking food away rule. If you so much as try to leave with a half eaten roll, you will be stopped & told you cannot take it with you. Why not???? they'll just bin it anyway?!! Stupid rule!! A whole plate of food maybe, but a bread roll??? please!!As some people have mentioned before, the walls are paper thin & you can hear everything from your neighbours. Can be a little annoying at times, especially whe n they start moving furniture in the middle of the night (well thats how it sounded).Good bits:View of coast is fantastic as is the view of the castle. Our room was situated somewhere in the middle of both & so lovely to sit on the balcony. The walk to the beach is ok too. Taking approx 10mins or so. Its also close to town & a large shopping centre.Cleaning staff were amazing. Everyday our room was put back to 'as you arrived' state. Smelled great, replenished soaps & towels etc... Really could not fault them. Also very polite.

It was a little way out of city but the new tram system which was just across the road was excellent.Breakfast was average but adequate, couldn't comment on restaurant because we ate out all of the time.Staff were very nice and polite.Room was big and spotless.Tea and coffee making facilities in room would have been a bonus

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, good position for site seeing. My only comments are needed more staff at reception when busy, only ever saw one staff at reception.. TV remote did not work on arriving, only English TV channel CNN.

The rooms are good sized, however the walls are a bit thin, so I could hear my neighbours watching TV and having conversations at 1am - even though they weren't been over loud. It's convenient to the beach and also to a very large shopping centre. To get to the centre of town it's about 10-15 minutes walk.

We requested a sea veiw when booking with Laterooms but on arrival we did not receive this, however the receptionist moved us immediately when this was brought to their attention. We found the staff really helpful; even lending me their mobile phone charger. The staff spoke reasonable English so communication was good. The variety of food types at the buffet breakfast was also very good. This was my second visit to this hotel and for the money I have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Excellent for public transport, next to tram and bus stop. 8 minute walk to good beach, 15 minute walk into Alicante.Best buy a multi journey tram card for 5 minute ride into town.Hotel pool excellent. Not noisy at night.

This hotel is perfectly positioned with a bus stop outside that goes to the heart of Alicante, about 5 minutes, for £1. Although the beach is only a 5 minute walk away, albeit across a road, with beautiful sand and facilitiesThe Marq railway station is 5 minutes away and a ticket return to benidorm is about 4 euros for a pleasnt 1 hour each way trip. The castle behind the hotel is well worth a visit. The pool is very good but a bit deep at one end - for children. All in all a very good hotel to stay in with very pleasant staff and a second to none buffet breakfast with food for all tastes. A good wine in the hotel was about £1-30p for a large glass. Booked through Laterooms made the stay even less expensive.
