Hotel Kraft: A very good hotel, only 7 minutes from Florence centreIn the heat in beautiful but grubby Florence any close to centre hotel with clean, air conditioned rooms would be a winner with me. On a much needed break I was also easy to please as the last thing I wanted was any friction or to find fault. Hotel Kraft, Firenze, made my life easy on this front. Pleasant desk staff (even the one haughty lady on the desk meant no harm), amusing bar staff and a general aura of good nature was very calming. Personally I was a fan from the moment I saw a sweet little dog up at the bar; any hotel that is tolerant of (well behaved) animals is a pleasure to stay in. The one catch was the food. The rice salad I had on the first evening was one of the most awful meals I've had in an hotel anywhere; stale rice with an unbelievably ancient piece of cauliflower (why?) and various other bits of wilted (not intentionally) vegetables just stunned me into silence. The accompanying salad was warm and the tomatoes past their best. Believe me, the service was good and amusingly cheeky and I could have told the waiter/barman but what to say? I'm English and incapable of complaining without sounding snotty, besides I thought "he didn't cook it". I draw a discrete veil over the pasta dish and room-service sandwich on a subsequent night. Please go to the Hotel Kraft, for the reasons I mentioned above, it's a really pleasant hotel. When I go next to Florence I'll happily stay there (if they'll let me after my rude remarks about the food) but I will be eating out and taking snacks.

It was a nice hotel but everything extra cost money. The parking, the internet, etc. We swam at the small pool and drank at the roof top bar, which was very nice, but expensive.

We really liked the Hotel Kraft. Nice clean large room with modern bath. Plenty of hot water. Friendly and helpful staff. The only drawback is it is long (15 min) walk to the historic area (Ponte Vecchio). Nice views from the roof top garden. The breakfast was very good.

The Hotel Kraft is a wonderful hotel, easily on par with many significantly less budget-friendly establishments. Although not in the very center of the city, it is nonetheless very close to all what is important: Florence is a wonderful city in that everything is close. A five minute walk finds you in the Piazza del Republica - the center of the city, with shopping, dining, museums and nightlife all around. The hotel distributes wonderful maps showing off all the important parts of Florence. The breakfast is pleasant, and the staff are friendly and available to help with any tourism questions - including reservations and knowledge about local dining and night-life. Overall a wonderful place to relax and explore the city from.

Comfortable room, not very large but with a with comfortable bed. TV in the room provided CNN and BBC. The shower stall was a bit tight, but certainly adequate. The hotel was quiet. Breakfast(included) was very nice and I very much enjoyed the coffee. The service was friendly and helpful. The location was within a comfortable walk to all the museums, churches, and sites I wanted to see. Being a bolck from the river, always helped me to find it after my daily travels. A ten minute walk took me to the bus station (next to the train station)and I was able to save on cab fare to airport.

Hotel Kraft was very comfortable, the standard room had a king-size bed, desk with chair, two bedside tables, a lounge chair, TV with several English speaking channels and several lamps. The bathroom had a vanity area, there was adequate space for hanging clothes, and there were two suitcase stands. The corner room had windows in two directions, with one facing the Arno River. A free cold continental breakfast was provided every morning which included a variety of fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, meats, boiled eggs, cheese, and cereals. The hotel also had rooftop dining for lunch and dinner and a rooftop bar. The staff was all friendly, speaking several languages, efficient with problem solving, arranging tours and taxis. The hotel was located on the edge of the old section of Florience with many of the main attractions within walking distance.
