The Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong overlooks Victoria Harbour in Kowloon's lively Tsim Sha Tsui neighbourhood, with numerous transit options close by, including Mass Transit Railway (MTR), buses and ferries.Taxis Taxis in Hong Kong are a bargain in comparison with many other international cities. Flag fall is HKD 16 for the first 2 km, HKD 1.40 for each 200 m thereafter. The passenger must pay the harbour tunnel toll upon returning to Kowloon from Hong Kong Island.Star FerryAn icon of the city for decades, the Star Ferry offers a leisurely 7-minute ride across the Victoria Harbour for just HKD 2.20, and the locals still take it routinely. There is one just about every five minutes, operating from early in the morning until 11pm and covering three routes: one between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central, one between Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai, and one between Hung Hom and Wan Chai.The Star Ferry terminal in Kowloon is a 15-minute walk from the hotel along the harbour promenade.MTRThe MTR (Mass Transit Railway) is an extensive subway system interconnecting Hong Kong Island, as well as the Kowloon Peninsula and Lantau Island.In addition, the East Rail of MTR, located at the doorstep of the hotel offers frequent direct train service from Kowloon to the New Territories and the Mainland China border.TramsThe historic double-decker tramway runs on Hong Kong Island between Shau Kei Wan and Kennedy Town, with a branch in Happy Valley. While 240,000 residents still commute by tram every day, this mode of transport has been in operation since 1904 and is a popular sightseeing attraction.Private CarA private car is a safe and comfortable way to get around Hong Kong. Please make your booking at least two days in advance.Via Airport ExpressThe Airport Express train departs from the Main Arrivals Hall every 10 minutes to the Kowloon Station. A one-way journey, which takes approximately 35 minutes, will cost approximately HKD 380.Via BusAirport buses depart every hour for the one-hour journey and stop at several hotels in Kowloon.
