Nearby attractions include Drums of Polynesia Luau Show, Hulihee Palace, Island Breeze Luau, Kona Historical Society, Holualoa Kona Coffee Company, Kahaluu beach park-best for snorkeling just a quarter of a mile exiting the resort. Magic Sands is approximately a half mile from the Kahaluu Beach Park. Two full bathrooms and a full kitchen, grills all over property. Great Value for what we paid. Would have liked bigger pools, and renting items to use on property was quite inconvenient.

We stayed at the Kona Coast I September 11 - September 17. When we checked in, we were informed that the main pool was closed, as was the onsite restaurant (all their literature boasts of their 2 pools and restaurant). The pool closure was disappointing to our 2 young children. However, this was nothing compared to what we were to encounter when we went to our room. We were met with a construction crew, blocking the space where we had been told to park. There was a huge dumpster for their demolition materials, as well as a port a potty which we had to walk by when entering or exiting our unit. We were told that the construction shouldn't be a problem, as they worked from 8AM to 4PM. This is a HUGE problem with demolition noises while your 2 young children are trying to take their afternoon nap. One of the other problems we encountered was that there was not a bathtub in the unit - so much for our everynight bedtime ritual for the kids of taking a bath. We were told by the front desk that all the bathtubs had been removed in order to accommodate elderly guests, and that bathtubs were considered hazardous (this didn't seem to be the case when we went on the timeshare tour, in which a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub was displayed.) We contacted the Shell Vacation Club reservations number, and we were told that there were indeed many units available with bathtubs in the 'newer' part of the property. When I called the desk and asked to be moved to one of those units, I was told that would involve approval from the accounting dept, which would not be available until a weekday.

We were in unit 25-203 an upstairs condo unit looking over the golf course and the GORGEOUS ocean!!! I would redecorate if I had my condo there wall paper outdated and peeling in some places, but it was always clean and easy to get around. The main pool is great. The poolside pub had amazing food and a coconut/mac-nut shake that was TO DIE FOR! I miss them already and we have been home 23 hours! The condo is THE nicest of all the ones we visited... near the shopping center, right up the road from great beaches! fun farmer's markets... shopping and for dinner Don the Beachcomber is less than a mile away... WOW, talk about wonderful! Ali'i drive is a big L shape...The Kona Coast is near the middle ot the L... close to the highway (5 minutes), close to loads of entertainment, wonderful staff too. Everyone wishes you good morning, asks how you are, the ALOHA mentality I craved! Sunset walk to the coast line across the golf course (illegal but we all did it) Sit by an amazing blow hole and take in the sights, sounds, and smell of PARADISE. Meet your neighbors or spend loads of time alone... it is up to you! The Kona Coast Resort made my husband and two teenage boys so happy... I feel blessed to have been at home there for 8 glorius days, not nearly long enough! Watch cruise ships pass by in the morning sun, feed the amazing birds and had a chorus of birds every morning, Follow a path and find wild bananas growing up and down the path with wild geckos chirping with the excitement of the evening! (did you know bananas are the world's largest herb? you do now!) Try SUNRISE DONUTS at the shopping

Poolside food was very good. Wish there was direct access to a beach! Food was very good. Was a good set-up for renting side-by-side units for our families with outside common grassy areas for kids.

the condo was absolutely gorgeous with a well-equipped kitchen, nice dining room and outside breakfast room, living room with big-screen tv, largeshowers and tubs, comfortable beds... i highly recommend kona coastresort and plan to vacation at kauai coast resort next may.

The size of the condo, and the view. Could hear people coming home late at nite. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

The room needed some repair and updates. We wouldn't give the condo sales people any of our financial information so they escorted us out of their meeting. The activities desk told us to keep the discounts we were given. When we checked out we were told we had no balance due. About 6 weeks after the trip, an unauthorized charge shows up on our credit card.

This was our 3rd visit to Kona Coast. Our 1 bdrm condo was very lg, full kitchen & wshr & dryr. Huge lani that looked out on the golf course & could see a bit of the ocean. Furniture needs to be updated but clean. Close to great snorkeling & fun (small) beach for kids.

It's a time share condo, so full kitchen and washer/dryer, fridge, etc.Huge lanai. Older, killed a roach, AC was difficult to work (wasn't given the key). Nice place, great Keauhou location, close to Kona coffee farms, Kealakekua Bay, full kitchen, nice bathroom. Timeshare condo.

The grounds were beautiful! A little dated. Great hotel, although a little rough around the edges in areas. The rooms need a little updating. The staff were great! The grounds were great! The location was convenient! I would recommend the hotel to friends.

Quiet and only 6 miles to the end of town. Old and dirty swimming pool. Light switches and misc items to be fixed in room. I will come back again. They were doing a lot of work on the hotel and it took 3 tries to get a room that wasn't under some construction but it was worth it.

Very large space - comfortable! Nice kitchen and outdoor lanai, and nice facilities. No shampoo in the bathroom, had to pick it up in a place different from lobby!

The kitchen, bathrooms, sand volleyball court, playground, hot tub,the view, location, deck, wash machine and dryer. The matress was a little hard. This hotel is very close to a resort. The view is wonderful. The condo was great. We really enjoyed the kitchen, two bathrooms, and the washer and dryer. They also have an exercise room that over looks the ocean, golf course, the pool and the hot tub area. We really enjoyed our visit and would go back anytime.

Place didn't supply shampoo or toothpaste-had to ask. Put up the privacy sign on the door and house keeping still used his key to come in while we're still in the room. Our room was not cleaned until after 5pm. When we needed towels, service, etc, we'd have to leave a message and then someone calls back. We never got a live person on the phone when we called. Place may be more suitable for couples with children, definitely not for a honeymoon couple!
