We never expected it to be this peaceful. It is really a place to get away from it all...The Staff was great the room was clean and had everything you need to use for a lengthy stay including toaster & Blender & 2 burner cook top with dishes and dishwasher..Thanks to everyone at Kohls that made our stay enjoyable..

Very friendly staff, beautiful rooms, and beautiful surroundings! The water pressure in the shower was very poor. The hotel staff was wonderful and the rooms were very clean! The surroundings were beautiful with awesome views and lovely cabins! The restaurant had great food and overall it was a great stay for myself and my husband.

The owner of this motel was VERY rude. There was a gas leak in the room which we reported to the gas company. The room was dirty with 2 dirty towels even though we stated there would be 3 of us. There was no shampoo, etc. The beds were hard and very cheap with what looked like dirty cheap bedding. The heater was noisy. We were awakened early by men working and cussing in the room next to us. It was a Friday night and we were the only ones there so that should have been our first clue to how bad the place was. We will be reporting them to the chamber of commerce and also the Better Business Bureau.

Kohl's Ranch is an excellent place to relax and experience the wonderful diversity of Arizona's terrain. There was 1-2 inches of snow on the ground, more on the way. The heated pool was steaming, the Christmas lights were shining, the fireplace was roaring, the food was terrific (I recommend the trout, locally raised). Even though it was a holiday, and most want to be at home, the staff was cordial, and most helpful and cheerful. This is the place to go if you're looking for peace and quiet, in a completely different setting than the desert of Phoenix. The room was perfect. It was a short stay, but a sweet one!

Loved the location away from town in wooded setting. Noisy maids in hallway - no consideration for guests. Really enjoyed the short stay. The pool area was beautiful and grounds very clean and well kept. Spoke to a couple with children in the cabin area and they loved it. Great location.

Site states pet friendly however at check in our room was changed to the least valued with two double beds as opposed to the king we booked. We were charged 20.00 for our 5# toy poodle when we complained about the room they did refund that portion. They are a Time Share facility and are interested in presenting that sales pitch. Beautiful and interesting in the western theme around Payson we will go back to tour that area again but would not stay at Kohl's Ranch Lodge.

I liked the easy check-in and the option to talk to staff about the recreation they had to offer. We were interviewed and then given all sorts of coupons and directions on what to do and where to go. We took advantage and went horse back riding in the Tonto Woods located behind their property.(Gentle horses and good guides!) We had been to the Payson area before, but we didn't know all the free things to do like travel up to the Rim and view the area from the look-outs. The Fish hatchery down the road was interesting to us. The staff was great ---found out on the 2nd day that if we wanted housekeeping, we had to call. The room was great with a patio, true we were off the parking lot; but we could sit under the overhang and rock our chairs during the rain storm without getting wet. The local casino is good and has good food. There are all kinds of local festivals and antique shopping within 20 miles. Overall a good, relaxing time and we will be back!

Horseback riding and guides were outstanding. The front desk were not helpful. Room was small, interested in ownership only. Desk was unhelpful. The room we had did not have enough counter space even for a shaving kit. The breakfast was greasy, the dining room help were not friendly, but they were fast at grabbing the check. Hotel was not clean, the room was very small. The directions given by hotel staff to attractions were poor. Maps were hard to read and not accurate. One great thing was the Horseback riding. They were very accommodating. They were helpful and courteous. The price of horseback riding was reasonable. However, back at the hotel, they charged for every little thing. The ice machine did not work.

Kohls Ranch is a great getaway. The location was perfect only a short drive to the lakes, and a short drive to the city. The staff was very accomadating and the property was well kept. The room was large, clean and comfortable, perfect for a couples escape. I look forward to going back.
