This hotel at the edge of the ghetto so after a few blocks through a slightly shady neighborhood you can get on the bus to some of the attractive parts of San Francisco. It is about 10 blocks to the major shopping areas.

Distance from downtown was great. In a loud, never resting, neighborhood. It was a nice hotel overall but my expectations went high. It was a block away from Market Street in San Fransisco so of course it was pretty loud even at 3 o clock in the morning but it was still okay. I'd say a mediocre hotel especially if its a last resort, in this case it was.

good price, we drove our own car so complimentary parking is very nice for us. the location is noisy because of constructions around, and those homeless people around looks dangerous.

I stayed here only because it was the closest hotel to Cafe Cocomo. The location was bad, in a bad neighborhood, not close to Bart. It was an OK hotel, but the location was horrible. Bad neighborhood and not near a Bart station. I only stayed here because I was going to Battle of the Bands at Cafe Cocomo and it was the closest hotel to the venue.

This hotel is a great deal for south of market. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly. It has free parking and free internet. It is close to civic center and the metro.

Rooms were recently remodeled. Free WiFi was not usable in building I was in. The hotel was about what I had expected, the only major drawback was the mentioned free WiFi was not functional. The hotel has two separate buildings, maybe it works in the other one.

the hotel wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. The location was two blocks from market street so it was not quite in the "ghetto" but I wouldn't say it was a great neighborhood. The hotel was weird because there are two buildings across the street from each other. The parking lots were so small and they shut the gate at one of the hotels so you had to get out and open the gate to be able to even get into the parking lot. The shower head was way too low. The continental breakfast was a joke. There were mini muffins, coffee and orange juice...that's it. The hotel was in a very convenient location. Not a far drive from the fisherman's wharf, pier 39, shopping district, and china town.

The price in San Francisco. Had to park on the street at night. This motel is good for club goer with many clubs around.

This hotel made my last-minute leisure trip to San Francisco so easy! The room's a little small, but was comfortable and very clean. The oddly curved shower rod had a hard time holding up the curtain, so the bathroom floor turns into a lake. I did let the manager know asap, and he was attentive. The free breakfast includes minimuffins, tea, and coffee, and it ends a bit early. Maybe this runs longer on the weekend? The shape of the hotel can function as a big echo-tunnel for street traffic, but at night I didn't hear anything....except for the herd of buffalo on the floor above ( **Note: this is not the hotel's fault, but it is the fault of thoughtless people ) Free parking was also a bonus; except the lot was a U-shaped one-way route, and the exit was locked with a gate. Vacationers ended up having to leave through the entrance, which was a bit risky. I'm looking forward to my next trip here!

Location/price. Front desk help was rude, overwhelmed and generallywasnot helpful. The rooms were not ready. Waited in lobby for over an hour then the front desk manager proceeded to check in new arrivals making other guests wait in line that had been waiting too. WiFi is weak and not dependable. Only stay there for the location.

Location. Poor service. There was only 1 towel in hotel room, sheets were dirty, shower was dirty. I didn't care for the service, very unfriendly.

It was clean and it does come with continental breakfast and the staff did answer questions about travel. Room did not have micro-wave or mini fridge as stated, it was an add. $20 per day - only 4 TV channels. I was really upset that they said the cable was being worked on for all five days of our stay. They wanted to charge an additional $20 per day for fridge and microwave. Downtown area infested with homeless people. Continental breakfast was the 2nd worst I've ever seen in my entire life. I would not stay here again, it only met our basic needs.

Cheap. Extremely dangerous and unpleasant location. Everything is bearable except the location. It's location ruins every good experience in San Francisco at once.

Reasonable price, close to public transportation. Taxis, in SF proper, nice bed, great experience for the price. Only decaf coffee in the room. Sure it's small and it certainly isn't glamorous, but you are in SF - who wants to spend any time at the hotel other than to sleep? The bed was perfect for me. The place is definitely well worn, but it's clean. Kind of a run down area of town, but it could be a lot worse and it's conveniently located to transportation and it offers free parking to guests! Free parking. Those are three things that never go together. I'll definitely be staying here again.

Close to market and convention. Location because people (homeless, others) along streets to and from convention. Clean rooms, staff was friendly and helpful.

Hot water. Overall appearance of the hotel all stars to each floor no elevator, window did not have a safety screen, blow dryer was ancient, Iron didn't work. It is great for a economical visit to San frank, don't expect a nice hotel for that star and level I expected this but not this bad I stayed at the Marriot by the San Fran airport and the hotel was a 2 star and that hotel exceeded our expectation this one was just old and run down horrible stay!

Nothing. On check in we were placed in room of the Annex across street. No elevator to our room on second floor. Management had to send someone to turn on electricity. Room was filthy. Sox under bed ,dustballs like tumle weeds. Homeless were sleeping outside door. Drug sale took place in door way of Annex. Lamps lacked useable bulbs. TV had 3 snowy channels.

Staff was friendly, helpful, and courteous. The day of arrival the person on the desk was not very welcoming, did not know how to greet the customers, the carpets out side were very old and smell. Horrible experience on first day, the room allocated to us had blood on the bed sheets and pillow covers, we had to request to change the room, the next room they gave us had no working light , phone was not working, the room was small , faucet was leaking, head board of one bed was off the wall, they fixed the table lamp same night, phone was fixed next day, the other lights were never fixed, faucet kept leaking all four days, breakfast served was very lousy. Although the attendants other than first night were courteous and helpful.

Free parking. Seemed unsafe, internet didn't work, etc. Located conveniently in downtown San Francisco, this hotel seemed like a good deal, including free parking, no less. When I arrived, I was told I was staying in the "east building," a dilapidated boarding house style area on the opposite side of the street. The room was small and looked as if it hadn't been redecorated since the early 1980s, and the free wireless connection was not functioning in the rooms. All in all, a good location, but a poorly kept hotel.
Date of Stay:
October, 2007
Nothing. Dirty. The hotel was not in a very good neighborhood. It was difficult to get a cab to pick up in the area. The room was dirty, very small and had graffiti on the walls. The sheets had not been changed. I did not feel safe or comfortable. I checked in and checked out an hour later after finding a room at another hotel.
