Very nice ambiance. Not easy to find with a TomTom. Rooms and services are very OK. Diner and breakfast was also OK. Most important was the house itself was very nice and the place surrounding. Next time again!

A real treasureThis was our second visit to this wonderful old hotel. It rather like staying at a french chateu. A little faded, but charming and friendlyAlso they are very dog friendly, which not only pleases our dog, but us also !!

A real English country house gemFantastic setting, beautiful old house, friendly & efficient service, good food and decent wine selection. Rooms functional rather than elaborate but very clean and absolutely fine for a 'short stay'.

Beautiful old Tudor house, set in gorgeous grounds, at the end of a long drive. huge room with nice view. Enormous double bed and folding bed for child. Very clean. Did not eat there as rather expensive.

What a find this is!! A lovely country retreat set in most beautiful gardens. A real pleasure to find and to visit. Would definately come back. The only negative was the room I was given was up two flights of stairs and the quality of the carpets and rooms appears to go down the higher you get. But for the price it was still a bargain.

another great staythis was the 3rd time i have stayed at this hotel and once again it was perfect. if you are staying on business ask for room 16 as it has its own sitting room. the service was impeccable and food is superb. i will always stay here when i am in the area.

food and customer service excelent, hotel is comefortable and relaxing we were made to feel very welcome. we will definatly try to book this hotel in future. We had one night in the Holiday Inn, and even being upgraded to an executive suite and it being a little cheeper we both would have preffered staying in this hotel.

I wish to highly reccomend this hotel, there was a minor issue. The room was cold, as the heating was broken; I was so tired after a drive of 700 miles I did not ask reception, I just fell into bed. I was offered help to carry my bags but I was capable of this myself. The staff were aware of the issue with the heating and had thoughtfully placed an electric heater in the room, unfortunately this did not seem to work, or I did not find the right switch. OK, that’s the statutory moan over with. This hotel and staff are of the highest standard. It was clean - ok if I tried hard enough I could find a few niggles - but anyone visiting my home could to, and my home is not a mansion. The staff were bright, helpful, professional, and efficient. The food was lovely. I initialy felt breakfast at £10 was a little steep, but for the price of the room and the quality of the breakfast I realised £10 - or £9.95 was good value indeed. I have booked additional days at theis hotel and would reccomend anyone who likes a non rushe pace of life to do likewise.

Very reasonable rate but room was old fashioned and very small- refelected in price I suppose. Food was very good if a little pricey.

the open log fires were a welcome sight on a frosty evening and we enjoyed a splendid meal in the restaurant. A geat place to get away from it all and will definitely be back , with the dog next time.

Great location, pretty country house hotel, friendly welcome and charming clean and well equipped room (ironing board, iron, toiletries and tea and coffee etc. plus the benefit of free broadband). We arrived late in the evening after a ferry ride from france so were unable to eat in the restaurant which was dissappointing as the menu looked delicious and very reasonably priced. One nice touch was when I rang the hotel to advise of our late arrival we were asked if we would like to pre-order some food (wish we had now). Will definitely return.

Such a lovely building and a great antidote to run-if-the mill business hotels. The menu is terrific, if a little pricy, but I would choose this again and again when in the Plymouth area. The staff were terrific.

The standard rooms are small but are just the trick for a one-night business stay. Room service procedures were a bit puzzling (no menu in the room and no telephone number for the restaurant) but after placing my order downstairs, I was impressed with the standard of the food.

country mansion house. great room ,top food at a price but worth it. wouldn't normally get a hotel of this quality for this price.
