Excellent location but the old building is very noisy from other guests at night. Noise travels in the corridors too easily. The hotel is overpriced for the size of the room and the poorly designed bathroom. Design features are elegant but design should not be at the cost of functionality.

The Kirketon Hotel Sydney was a real disappointment. We booked a "fancier" hotel for our 10 year anniversary, and were really disappointed. They don't even have a toilet for use, or a place where you can change when you arrive if your room isn't ready. We'd just had an overnight flight to Australia, and wanted to freshen up and change into shorts as it was such a lovely day already (at 7 or 8am). They sent us down the road just to be able to carry out what ought to have been a simple task! I couldn't believe it. The reception and communal hallways are painted black and feel very dark and unwelcoming. Definitely not worth the 120 pounds plus price-tag. The room was nice enough, but the hotel did not live up to expectations, sadly. I wouldn't rush to go back again, or to recommend it to others.

Enormously noisy hotel with very small rooms. Nicely decorated and good use of space but totally overpriced.
