Wasn't sure what to expect, this being my 1st experience at a hostel. I'd recommend a stay here, if only for the quality of the guides & drivers assigned to us, who were very knowledgeable, friendly & helpful (but be aware bathroom showers, while clean, may overflow!). The 1 glitch was having to wait in the breakfast room for 5 long hours, exhausted, upon returning from the overnight train in Luxor, for a room which we had booked months earlier. We'd been looking forward to some sleep before going to the Khan El Khallily that afternoon. Would have liked something other than bread for breakfast, too. Apart from that, everything was fine. We were not pressured at all by hostel staff (they were quite friendly). Loved the location which comes to life at night!

Good location, in central Cairo and walking distance from Egyptian Museum. The hostel wasn't very lively, but clean. The staff helped us book guides and plan our time.

Every one are are friendly and helpful which making staying at King Tut a pleasure. Being in down town so very close to Nile, museum, the shoppes. Very clean, rooms have aircon. so it does not get to hot.

This hostel was better than some hotels I stayed in Egypt. I'm fussy with my cleanliness & I could smell the cleaning product in my room so I knew it was clean. Some rooms a bit noisy but to be expected in downtown Cairo. As a blonde female I felt safe walking around the area alone and it was a easy walk to the Museum. Good food options all around. I got sick & the guys looked after me. I would definitely recommend this hostel.

Great place, i felt very much at home, especially with the welcome tea. i loved the environment - the place itself has lots of character and is centrally located. The staff was amazing! They were very friendly and helpful and a whole lot of fun! I booked an amazing tour through them, and just staying at the hostel alone really added so much to my first trip to Egypt!

Cheap hostel in Cairo,Egypt. I've stayed in many hostels in many countries, and this was one of the best. Upon arriving at 3 AM, we thought it looked very shady...but once we found it on the 8th floor, it was amazing. The facility is welcoming. The staff, though, is what really sets it apart. Atef and Haytham in particular, were amazing hosts. They really do make you feel at home. The airline lost my bag for 4 days, and they made numerous calls, and even let me use their cell phones and gave me their calling cards to call the airports to track it down. The rooms are clean and secure...toilet paper was provided. AC worked very well. The hostel is very centrally located. Internet is slow but available for free. The computers are always on and if you want to use it for a few minutes to check something, it is no problem with no charge. I will certainly be staying here again on my return to Cairo before my departure. I recommend this hostel to anybody and everybody. Best luck with your travels.

I have stayed in many hostels all over the world and what makes this one great is the tourist help. They have someone who helps people book transportation all over Egypt including getting tickets and arranging transfers and sister hostel stays. They work within your budget and listen to what you want to do...excellent staff, very helpful. sorted our Egypt trip out so we managed to see almost everything the country had to offer in 6 days. Would recommend anyone to stay here if they are looking for basic, safe hostel with friendly knowledgeable staff.
