The room was small, minimally furnished, a bit stuffy, but perfect for what we needed. The hotel is small, the staff is personable, the place is naturally beautiful with banana and coconut trees growing inside, a waterfall with funny birds splashing around on top, and flower petals drifting down on breezes to cover your doorstep. The hotel is right next to the water, restauants, shops. and yet is tucked right off 5th so it is quiet. This is not a resort, there are few ammenities, but it is just what I wanted.

The hotel itself was nice, recently remodeled with a small, but comfortable pool/courtyard area and a nice roof-top patio. My boyfriend and I stayed in the "Pretty Room" which was the least expensive room they offered, and one of the cheapest deals I could find in the area. Unfortunately, it was not part of the recent remodel and was terribly uncomfortable. It was very small, no room to unpack any of our things except for on a dirty floor; the bathroom was even smaller and had a continuous nauseating odor; and the bed was worst of all causing several sleepless nights for both of us. The hotel is centrally located, but if you're not a late-night partyer, bring your ear plugs because the dance club next door starts up about 10:30pm and feels like it's right in your room, and (at least during our stay) construction of a new condo complex across the street started where the night club left off. If you don't require a lot of sleep and want to save some money, this is the place for you, otherwise I'd recommend spending a few extra dollars on a comfortable hotel room a little farther north in the quieter part of town.

We chose Kinbe because of the "amenity" that included Airport Shuttle. We later found out it was a "charged service" and was significantly more than what we ended up paying for transportation. Our unit did not have a working lock mechanism and they were unable to repair it for 24 hours. Our unit was also immediately behind the front desk, so peace and quiet was not possible. We were transferred to a new room the following morning. The room was small, somewhat damp-smelling, but clean.

I have traveled all over Mexico and this little place is very nice. I did have an issue with the Manager who wanted additional money from the package I had already bought from online travel website . I did contact online travel website at my expense and requested they contact the hotel. I was never bothered again. I did have an issue with the toilet but it was fixed immeadiately the next day. I highly recommend this place to everyone! It is very cozy, close to the beach and to all the restaurants and clubs in Playa.

I did enjoy the location of the Hotel as it is a block down from the main street in Play del Carmen and there is also a Starbucks on the corner. The staff was very freiendly. I was a little shocked by the size of the room. The room had a large bed with about 3 feet clearance on each of the 3 sides and the bathroom was equally as small. It worked okay for us as we were only staying one night but would not have wanted to stay any length of time in such small living quarters.

Hotel Kinbe is a wonderful place with lots of charm. The location is excellent - the more popular restaurants and the beach are just steps away. It was so relaxing to sit on the roof deck at night and look at the stars and listen to the ocean. Truly an amazing hotel and the perfect place for those not interested in the giant resorts.

The hotel is a little funky. A glassed cabinet in which to put clothes, cobble-stoned shower floor, very sparse lobby. Only one block from the beach where they have an affiliation with owners so you get 10% off. Very close to main drag (5th Avenue) where there are tons of shops and restaurants.

Got woken up by rodents 2 of the 3 nights we stayed there. When we complained the manager was incredulous, and when we convinced her, she said ""this is the jungle and things like this happen."" Very unapologetic, no refund or discount was offered. Given the # of hotels in playa, you can get a much better place for the price.

The hotel was very nice. However the room and bathroom were smaller than we anticipated. For 2 of us we had plenty of room, but for more people it would have been tight. The location is great. It is about 1 1/2 blocks from the beach. And only a block from many great shops and restaurants in Playa del Carmen. The staff here is great!! They were very helpful.

I had heard so much about Playa that I wanted to stay in a quiant chic hotel in the heart of the city and not pay too much. This is exactly what I found. Service was excellent! Mini bar was very fairly priced. The hotel is 2 minutes from Fifth avenue and 1 blick from the beach. I recommend this property if you want to really live the Playa experience. You will not be disappointed

For the price, this hotel was a great bargain and allowed us to be close to the action at Playa del Carmen. Just half a block from the main pedestrian walkway and beach, we felt like we were part of it all. The hotel is relatively small, trendy and a great place to spend a few nights. The main downside is that tours to Chichen Itza do not pick you up at the hotel. In order to get picked up, you have to walk to a nearby large hotel for that, which was a mild annoyance. Besides that, we had a great time.

"Hotel Kinbe was a cute hotel off the main street, friendly staff. Standard size room is only big enough for a Mayan- ok if you are single. The room & bathroom were very small, but pretty clean, had air and refrigerator. No TV or elevator but was close to the beach and 5th Ave. The bed was very small and hard. Toilet had a funky smell (but maybe that is the water in Mexico). Some noisy construction going on in the mornings. Not great for an extended period of time, but ok for a few days if you upgrade."

Located right off of bustling 5th Avenue, the Kinbe is a great place to stay. Rooms are basic, but clean and air-conditioned. Staff is extremely friendly.

The room was about 10 x 10 tops with a fairly small bed which was not bad. The bathroom was about 3 1/2 by 7 with only a stand up shower and the toilet when you sat down your knees were about 3 inches from the wall. But put that aside the hotel is nice the garden view is cool and the service is very friendly. The roof terrace is quiet a nice spot to sit and get some peace. None of the rooms have tv. Overall if you into a fairly priced hotel that gives you a more mexican feel I recommend it.

The rooms are soooooo small. Absolutely nowhere to put your suticase. I actually started to like the rugged feel of it on the last day. No tv's. You will definitely see more of Playa if you stay here b/c the room is the most boring place to be. Everytime you shower the entire bathroom floor get soaked.

"We stayed here one night. The room was tiny, no place for luggages. It was a ground floor that smelled damp, musty and earthy, especially in the bathroom. Was very over priced for the room. While the room was attractively decorated, the smell was a real turn off."
