Having recently changed hands, Killiecrankie House is a personally run hotel in a beautiful secluded location close to the A9 and Pitlochry, offering good access to all the Highlands' scenery and attractions. We have a number of awards for our dining room including two rosettes and the 2008 Wine Award for Scotland from the AA . In addition we serve less formal Bar Meals in our Conservatory.10 pretty bedrooms, all with en suite facilities, afford lovely views of the Grampians to the North and West and the gardens to the East.

Transportation:

We are just off the A9 between Perth and Inverness. Take the turning signposted Killiecrankie which is on the B8079. The hotel is on the right just past the National Trust Visitor Centre if heading north or on the left on the way out of Killiecrankie if heading south.

Disappointed with hotel. Female staff were excellent. Room was very tired and dated. Attitude of owner not pleasant. Food ok, but not the standard we expected.

Excellent food and lovely location and grounds. Wines are recommended for specific menu items which is a great idea with such an extensive wine list.

The welcome we received was great and overall the staff were very friendly and obliging. The food was good but perhaps not quite as good as billed on the website. The room we had was comfortable and very relaxing, if a bit cold. The hotel is set in a wonderful part of Scotland and the walks nearby are plentiful, interesting and cater for a range of abilities. Overall I would say that we had a very pleasant night with the over-riding feeling being one of relaxation. In my opinion this hotel caters more for couples than for families but there were no families there at the same time so others may have a different experience. The only reason I would give for not being likely to return is that there are so many other places in the same area to explore.

Stayed with my partner for a wee get away, excellent hosts, especially the lady of the house.... Food was fantastic, however avoid the goats cheese, apart from that this was a great night for us both.. Would recommend...

This was a very enjoyable night's stay. Staff very friendly, food and restaurant atmosphere delightful and the room was very well appointed. A little on the expensive side but a lovely Christmas treat.
