This comfortable and well appointed hotel is under the personal supervision of Roberta Cobley and has an excellent reputation not only for its cuisine and standards of service, but also for its situation which is one of the best in Newquay - overlooking the Barrowfields and the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic.Guests' rooms are very comfortable, all with bathroom en-suite, colour television, direct-dial telephone, radio, and baby-listening intercom. They are centrally heated and many have sea views.In the evening pre-dinner drinks may be enjoyed in the bar and ballroom followed by entertainment with dance bands, cabaret and easy listening music in the season.The hotel has excellent facilities including a very warm indoor and outdoor heated swimming pool, solarium and large sauna, hydro-spa, sun patio, table tennis, laundry and ironing facilities, the Highlights Hair Salon and a full sized snooker table. Water skiing is also available.

Although our room and bathroom looked clean and tidy, there were a couple of things that made our stay less than comfortable: there was insufficient tea and milk available on the tray. Minor complaint I know but after a long journey and first thing in the morning a cup of tea is very welcome and it there just wasn't enough available. On vacating the room we also found rubbish under the bed.

Room was a bit cold but it was July so they prob didn't think the heating needed to be on! Good value for money, basic but clean.

Although it was only a short stay they made me feel more than welcome. Good to know you can still find a genuine Cornish smile in Newquay.

Booked 6 weeks in advance - on arrival was told the room I booked was not available and was put in a different room and had to pay an extra 20 quid. This hotel is a rip off in my opinion. Receptino staff were rude, breakfast and bar staff were okay tho.I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone, very bad value for money. Needs redecorating, room was shabby and drab, even the showere head was hanging loose and room stank of smoke.It says a tthe top total spen 100 - well this is wrong the hotel charged me an extra 20 pounds. Total rip off - do not ever use this hotel.(in my opinion this is the worst service value for money I have had in years and I stay in many hotels regularly)

We stayed in the family room at ground floor (G7). The room was big but it did not have a bath. Also, it was very near the main hotel toilet and there was a lot of noise in the night which made it difficult for our two year old daughter to sleep properly. The Kilbirnie Hotel website boasts of central heating but actually the central heating was not working on the first night of our stay (26th May). Unfortunately, our baby caught cold in the first night which was quite a disaster as it meant sleepness nights. To add to our problems, the hotel staff was not very helpful and they actually behaved very rudely to us on the last day and charged us 20 pounds extra for cleaning the room (apparently, we were guilty of making the room very dirty!).Overall, the location of the hotel is good and the food is nice but I would think twice before going there again.

the hotel was very easy to find, dont be put off by the outside as it is much better inside, had a family roomand was a good size and the kids were happy with the bunk beds, pool was good but not a big shollow end not very child friendly if there not good swimmwers, but all in all it was a plesant stay, but one thing to the restaraunt staff cheer up its only a job

The breakfasts were great. The family room was pleanty large enough, although the bathroom could have been a little more generous. The staff were helpful and friendly. I thought it was a good base if you want to travel around Cornwall, as we did. I just didn't think very much of Newquay as a place to stay with 2 small children.

hotel was easy to find but upon reaching the hotel we found it didn't look as good as it did in the picture. when we checked in the receptionist was friendly and polite, we got to our room to find the room was small, the bed was small, the tv reception was poor and the door banged, the shower was rubbish (not worth having one!) also the walls were paper thin and could listen to the tv, phone calls and children from the neighbouring room! all this and we were meant to have the executive room! I found the night staff rude and ignorant. All in all our stay in the hotel was ruined and i would not recommend staying there.
