Kewaunee is the "door" to Door County, Wisconsin, located 30 miles east of Green Bay and 30 miles south of Sturgeon Bay on the Door Peninsula. The verdant Kewaunee River valley, boater-friendly Kewaunee Harbor, and the sandy shores of Lake Michigan are among the natural features of this small city. The site for our Inn has hosted public accommodations since 1858. The current Inn was built in 1913.

This place is great! Beautiful building - very elegant lobby, bar restaurant. There is a great covered porch where we ate, with a view of lake Michigan and the harbor. The food at the restaurant is exceptional, more like downtown Chicago or Milwaukee. Overall, a very sophisticated feeling. The town is very charming and quiet, which is just what we were looking for; we brought our biles and had two great days of train rides - beautiful country side, well maintained trails. We will come back for road rides. Hotel room was also beautiful - spacious and sunny, clean, quiet.

We had a wonderful time here. Really cool old building, clean, great food, and the most wonderful staff. We were sure impressed! Can't wait to come back up.

My wife and I had a great time. The inn is old, but really charming. I referred to it as "The Shady Rest." The rooms were completely updated, the staff was friendly, the restaurant and bar were very good, and the prices were great. Kewaunee is a fun location--near Door County and Green Bay, it has the lake, golfing, shopping, bike riding, and hiking all within minutes.

Loved it; cool old building, excellent service. Great staff, and the town is very cool too. Lots of outdoor sport in the area. We are coming back for biking, hiking, canoeing
