I booked my 93 year old father in law and his 88 year old wife into this hotel. I spoke to the hotel in advance and they reserved for them the nearest room to reception on the ground floor. This proved to be spacious, comfortable,quiet and convenient - the restaurant is the same floor. In all our contacts with the staff they were helpful and courteous.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kenwood. The staff were very helpful, lots of car parking, great pool and spa, massive breakfast, lovely grounds to amble round over the sunny weekend. Easy access to both the Peak District and the City. Top marks all round.

Kenwood Hall - Principal Hayley Hotels We had a very pleasant stay - 2 adults and 2 young children (3 year old & 3 month old)The pool and hotel grounds proved to be a great distraction for the wee ones.The family room was spacious and clean, plenty of room for a cot, single fold down bed and large double bed with ensuite.

Brief stayThere were some niggling things wrong and when you are staying one night you tend to think I can't be bothered to report them, but there was an out of date packet of scotch eggs in the cupboard and broken glass on the floor behind the bin, the remote had only one battery and the light bulb in the standard lamp wasn't working. In the bathroom the last occupants empty shampoo and show gel bottles were left in the shower. All these things should have been picked up by housekeeping and quickly dealt with when the room was cleaned. On a more positive note the bed was clean and comfortable and the free bottle of wine was appreciated.

Kenwood business tripDecent hotel. Quiet with nice grounds. The room was average but acceptable for the price. I was disappointed with the restaurant. The evening meal options were limited and of average quality and the breakfast was no better than you'd get in your local greasy spoon cafe. Also as there were only three customers for the evening meal, the staff stood around staring at us the whole time which was a little annoying!

A lovely hotel just a stones throw from Sheffield City CentreWe stayed for three nights on a special deal including one nights evening meal and this was excellent value for money. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and the room clean and bright - pity no air conditioning because the weather was glorious but they had thought on to provide a fan. The grounds are lovely too, complete with baby ducklings. Good leisurefacilities and we enjoyed using the pool / steam room etc. The meal was good, especially as it was in the room rate - and in particular the vegetables were lovely and fresh. They even gave us a complimentary bottle of wine in the room which we werent expecting. We tried a meal from room service and that was fine too, with the empty tray removed promptly etc.\\We will definately stay again next time we are in Sheffield and would recommend it to others.

Well worth a sleep overWe didn't use the full extent of facilities available as we were away from the hotel for most of the day. However, we both thought that the bed was probably the most comfortable bed we had ever slept in (and certainly didn't want to get out of it the next morning).The breakfast included in the price was good with a wide choice of juices, fruit, cereal and cooked breakfast in a buffet service.The grounds to the hotel were beautiful and we took advantage of a short walk around the next morning.The only downside was the difficulty in finding the hotel as it is tucked away in a residential area and certainly not the easiest place to find. Without the help of Sat Nav, I think we would've been completely lost.Apart from the navigation difficulties, but now knowing how to get to it, we would definitely stay there again if we visit the area.

Good value and worth returning toStayed in a standard twin with my son whilst visiting the University. Room was spacious and comfortable with lovely view. Used the room service which was quick and efficient for a hot meal. Only problem was the internet modem didn't work and wasn't sorted out. Otherwise, can thoroughly recommend and would certainly return at the special price. Sadly unable to try out the leisure facility but the grounds alone were beautiful.

LocationAlthough in a parkl/landscaped area, the nearrby location was not very good, meaning that it was not pleasant to walk into town centre and there were very few buses. This meant taxis into Sheffield. The staff and all the people were excellent but they are fighting a very bad case of urban blight in that area.

Good value, pleasant room We had a summer special package which offered very good value for money. Very nice room overlooking lake with patio windows, but bathroom a bit dated although clean and functional - but a LONG walk from reception. Leisure facilities adequate without being inspiring. Food and service adequate without being anywhere near the standard this hotel should be seeking to attain. With both its location and stunning grounds, this should be a flagship but needs investment both in the fabric and service. An utterly charming receptionist on check in and decent champage in the room made up for a lot, however.

Expensive internetKenwood Hall, Sheffield, is a delightfully situated and well-run hotel, offering good value for money. It was surprising to find that internet access costs £15 per day, an extortionate amount for something that most hotels provide at nominal cost , or free. We did not use the service, nor did the three other groups in our party.One other disappointing aspect of Kenwood was the advertising for Porn TV in the room.Otherwise the place is great.

Lovely hotel, staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Only disappointment was room could have done with a uplift as some of the paintwork was flaking & in need of repair. Room was also very hot as there was no air conditioning. Other than that, was very pleased with my short break & would visit the hotel again.
