The wait staff, the outside bar and the front desk staff, very friendly. The rooms were very small particularly the bath rooms but, I guess that was average for the smaller South Beach Hotels

This place was great. If you want fancy and plush, go elsewhere. If you want funky, comfortable and clean, come here. And the staff, can't say enough about them. By far the friendliest , easiest going staff on the earth.

Booked 2 rooms thru your site. The hotel looked nothing like it did on line. Mold on the walls and bathrooms of both rooms. No maid service on Saturday and I consistantly requested for clean wash clothes and soap. Not happy w/ the room, but I had a good time in Miami. Refund???

Long story short, I checked out 3 days early on a prepaid stay. Hotel is being "remodeled" and hammer pounding started as early as 7:AM, hallway rugs were filthy and I would rather walk up and down the stairs rather than ride the 100 year old elevator they have. Funky smell all over the hotel, including lobby and hallways (not sure what it was but it smelled like a freshly cleaned restroom all over). For the price it's not worth it at all. For a couple extra bucks or even for the same price you can stay in a great hotel in the same area.

Do you like dorm living? That rooms are extremely small but they are very neat & clean and the towels and bed sheets smelled fresh & clean. I am glad that I brought earplugs because the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. I MEAN EVERYTHING. The location is good, it's the next best thing to staying on South Beach. Remember that this hotel is on Collins and there is limited parking. We paid 50.00 to park for 2 days. I would stay here again but I wouldn't plan on getting much sleep. Seriously, bring earplugs!

great location to clubs and restaurants however total nightmare due to the Thunderstorms we experienced we had several water leaks in the room luggage got wet etc..Orbitz did nothing to help although we booked directly through them overall rating for this hotel was a "0" will never go back

I had a great time @ The Kent Hotel. Everybody is very professional and care about you. The service was good and the facilities (besides the hotel was in remodeling) was ok. My only complain is that the Hotel doesn't have a gym, but with Miami's weather I did workout outdoors, but it (gym) could be a extra facility for the guests.

If you are not fully versed on what the term "art deco" means, don't stay here. I was so terrified I wouldn't be left alone for a minute in our room. The view of the dark alleyway from the window was actually less frightening than the pitch black hallways. And get the lowest floor you can, because you will not want to take that elevator. The staff was friendly, and the lobby is lovely, but the rooms are very old and cheaply renovated "dorm room" style. I know you can't expect much in miami beach for the money, but put simply, I almost slept in the car. Just pay for a parking space and sleep there. It'll be cheaper than the Kent and you will feel safer.

The hotel was within walking distance of the beach and great restaurants and nightlife. The room was nice, but somewhat small. It was very clean, and the staff was very helpful.

Well, my buddy and I stayed at the Kent recently over our spring break. Nice and clean hotel, but theres no continental breakfast!!! Staff was really cool, fresh towels every day for the beach, a block from Ocean Drive where all the action is at. But overall a good hotel if ur not going to stay in it often, but then again no one stays in at South Beach, good place!!!"

Centrally located hotel with a mostly younger clientele. The rooms are average size but with amenities that make the stay comfortable (CD player with CD, flat screen tv and lavender scented toiletries). Housekeeping and check in are late and once housekeeping leaves, you can't get any service. Front desk was pleasant and helpful but hallways can get slightly loud as every night is a party night in South Beach.

The Kent is in a great location but it is not the best place to go. The room is real small, we had an even smaller AC unit that did not cool the room off much. It's dark and damp in the halls. And they expect you to give them a 100 deposit once you arrive. The fridge is not a fridge at all it is a cooler. That little garden thing they showed on the website looks NOTHING like what I saw in person. It looked like a swamp back there. The location was great though. The staff was real cool, and the breakfast came in handy. The hotel itself was not a very nice one, but it was convienient.

We were overall ok for the most part... The Hotel had a chic retro feel very cool...They were doing construction outside so very loud in the morning...Our bathroom light had a short and so it would flicker at times, we reported the problem, problem was never worked on...The hotel had no pool or room service...For the price it was good...Hotel staff was personable...One block away from the ocean and of what south beach has to offer...

the hotel was nice. just what we were looking for. my wife and i took a cruise from miami to the carribean for our honeymoon. we stayed in miami one night before and one night after. the hotel is, quaint, modern upgrades in an older building. but i'm sure most of them are. close to everything; food, beach, shops, mall. good deal!

The checkin clerk could barely speak and never once smiled. Very unfriendly. Was playing on the computer and did not want to be bothered. Could give no recomendations of restaurants, etc. DID NOT want to be bothered. Price was ok. Rooms were a disgrace. Dirty and old tubs not stoppers, In need of repair and maintenance.

I stayed at this hotel because I was made to beleive it was updated. The only thing that was updated was the brand new plasma tv in the room. The sheets were stained stained, the room was dusty, and the floor dirty. The walls are thin and there are sketchy people just hanging out in the lobby. Overall if you dont care about cleanliness and wish to save money and stay central then this is your place.

The Kent is located very close to the beach which is nice, but the hotel is very small and almost dirty. the rooms are tiny and they use febreeze to mask the smell. If you are staying there just to go to the beach then the Kent is okay, but if you are planning on spending time at the room I would suggest finding another place.

This place is compleatly a mess the rooms are dirty, the towels all of them had stains also. I do not recommend this hotel for family vacations.

The Kent Hotel was very contemporary stylish for those young travelers. This hotel was in the heart of Miami a block from the beach. Although the room was small everything was compacted nicely and space use in the most effective way possible. I enjoyed the slower and the flat screen tv. The only problem I had was the lack of (or no) parking space for guest.
