really small room- but that is completely the norm for a hotel at this price range in London. Considering we don't spend a lot of time in our hotel room anyway when visiting London, who cares.

Room at the top.....I chose this hotel as I was attending an exhibition is South Kensington and this seemed like good value for money. The hotel was easy to find and very convenient for Earls Court underground station. I checked in and was given a swipe card for my room. On entering the room, I found that it was already occupied. Fortunately, the occupant was in the shower, so he didn't realise I was there! I went back down to reception, where the morning staff were blamed for the mix-up. I was given a different room, right at the top of the hotel and it was very nice indeed. Air conditioning kept the room lovely and cool, all channels were available on the plasma screen and Internet access was free of charge. I had read previous reviews, so was expecting the worst; but going on my own experience, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. It would seem wise to request a room at the top.

Ground floor room at the back featured a panoramic view and full stereo and deep bass sound of the London Underground. Not recommended for light sleepers but it does shut down for a few hours in the dead of night. Otherwise a rather small but rather exotically decorated room and excellent shower room. Very handy to Earls Court underground station! I'd stay again.

oh no the trains never stopnice hotel, but its super hot and the train noise is constant, but if u can live with the trains thundering past till 1am , then its a good location and a good price

The reception and service is excellent, very nice people who try hard to please. Rooms are very small, but nice. The advertised broadband in the rooms does not work, look forward to people coming to fix it for you, but it still won't work. In terms of loaction it is perfect. The breakfast is very over priced and a good breakfast is cheaper on the high street by at least a half.

Room Quality & Restaurant ServiceRoom (basement) is poorly lit by natural light but there was adequate lighting in the room and cramped and unable to pull chair and sit comfortably at desk becuae bed blocks chair. No shower curtains in bath and water splashed every when taking a shower. Extraction fan did not work. if these items are fixed then it is a cosy single room.Booking did not include breakfast and for the amount of money paid, it should. Having pre-paid for 3 days breakfast at check-in, records were not updated and restaurant forced me to sign a form paying gain despite my protestations on each of the mornings I went for breakfast. I was not charged eventually but it caused me embarrassment.On the whole, if breakfast is included it would be more appealing for it location and quiteness but may be too pricey!

Hotel is very easy to locate, 3 minutes walk from Earls Court Tube station. Bedroom was clean, modern, fresh. Bathroom was immaculate. All good. Downside, room was small, bathroom was tiny. ( I was in a single room, so for price - no complaint)

this place is awfulStay here if you like the sound of trains rumbling right the way through the night. Its right next to Earls Court station and I harldly got any sleep for the 2 nights I was there as the room would literally shake every time a train went past. I asked the staff if I could move rooms and they were rude. It's also expensive. AVOID.

I think it is somehow unfair to say the rooms are small and the tube goes under the house, well, it is London. I think the rooms, even if small, were very nice and cosy. The location very close to the tube and in a street with very little traffic was too very convinient. Overall the hotell is a VERY good bargain.

The single room was nice and spacious whereas the double room was so small that you had to climb onto the bed to open the window. No customer information given regarding food and drinks. The staff were slightly aloof.

The hotel has great location with only a few minutes walk to Earls Court Tube Station. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. This is the 3rd time we have stayed there and find it to be good value for money.

Room noisy from underground train

Pretty poor.... I was disappointed with Kensington Town House. If guests are looking for a cheap and central place to stop over for a night then Kensington Town House will just about do it, however it certainly should not list itself as 3 star. Staff were pleasant enough but service levels were poor. Upon arrival there were issues with payment and the member of staff who showed us to our rooms didn't actually know where they were so we were left wandering the halls trying to find them ourselves. The room itself was clean and functional, however there was a large burn mark in the carpet, my window ledge was broken in half, there was no shower door on my shower, the heating was permanently on full and the fridge was empty with no provision of drinking water. The biggest issue was the poor glazing and the rumble of trains past my widow late into the night and again very early in the morning. Great for cheap central accommodation, but not a pleasurable stay.

HIGHLY COMMENDED!!I had the pleasure of staying at the Kensington Townhouse in June 2009 whilst attending a Christopher Howard training.My accommodation was very well presented and maintained and the food was also great.Free broadband was a great bonus.TV signal on my top floor room was very poor and my request to have it fixed was ignored.

SKY NEWS...and nothing else!The room was definitely too small (even for one person) but OK. It beggars belief that the only channel available to watch on TV was SKY News. Whatever happened to the good old terrestrial channels? When queried at reception, I was told that none of the latter were provided as standard. A first!

GreatGreat room. Small but nicely decorated and clean. The experience was much nicer than staying at the Aldgate Travelodge where I had stayed the week before. Great food.

No Air ConAir conditioning didn't work in our room. We couldn't cool down by opening the window because of the loud tube noises. We ended up being so unhappy that we had to move rooms at 7 am. Not impressed.

Although i booked a superior room the photo as shown on the specification fell short of what the room was actually like. Whilst the fittings were of a high standard the room was very small and the air conditioning was very noisy. I would have been very unhappy with this booking if i had paid full price.

Small but perfectly formed single room. Lovely bathroom, all necessary facilities, cosy little room.Excellent value, and brilliant location, spitting distance from Earls Court Tube station, and a nice vibrant area, lots of restaurants and bars in vacinity.Would definitely stay again. Thanks!

Did I stay at a different place to all the other reviewers or something? I loved itI had a certain degree of trepidation about staying at this place after reading the very mixed reviews on here. I needn't have worried myself. I emailed the hotel in advance to request a room at the front of the hotel and not on the ground floor, to minimise noise from the train lines, due to the fact that my boyfriend is a very stressed out fourth year medicine student and needs his sleep. When we got there, the very polite, very friendly staff were very keen to tell us they had given us room 203, one of the nicest rooms in the hotel, and one of them then showed us up there. Yes, the rooms in this hotel are quite small, but I still found it to be an attractive, well-appointed room, with lovely decor, comfy bed, beautiful compact bathroom. We paid 52 pounds through laterooms.com and for a hotel in this part of the city, I found it to be incredibly good value. You could still slightly hear the trains from where we were, but it was muffled (the rooms are sound proofed) and totally unobtrusive. My boyfriend and I both agreed that it made less noise then you would hear from traffic if you were on a hotel on a less quiet road. The bottom line is, this is a London hotel. You aren't in the middle of the countryside. You are bound to get some degree of noise from some form of transportation. And the Tubes/trains stop late at night anyway! I would definitely stay there again. I hope that the hotel staff/management see this review and if they ARE reading it - thank you for making my stay so enjoyable.
