The 1-bedroom suite was nicely done - we loved everything in there. We didn't go to the small pool nearby - instead went to the Ritz pool using their shuttle which was really nice. Shuttle itself is a nice feature. The resort is a bit away from Kannapali and Lahaina but is well worth the money.

The staff was VERY accomodating. I would definately stay here again. Careful on the "Gold" villa upgrade. We had a ocean view "gold" villa that was at The Ridge. A regular ocean front Bay Villa was a thousand times better than the best Ridge villa. So we moved into it after the first night. Get the STANDARD BAY VILLA OCEAN FRONT. Best deal going. You get to use ALL of the amenities at the Ritz. You can even charge to your room there. I absolutely loved this place. It is on the north edge of west Maui, so can get a little windy, but the cove bays are shielded from the wind. The golfing was pricey ($200) for 18 holes. The resort is huge and has a shuttle to take you just about anywhere you want to go on the property (including the Ritz). Loved It. Lahaina (touristy area) is fun to visit and only 10-15 minutes away.

My new wife and I loved our stay in The Ridge at Kapalua Villas! We had an ocean view room, which was extremely clean and very spacious (we had a single bedroom). The rooms are a bit dated - old TV and other AV equipment, old tile, window a/c units in living room and bedroom, etc. - but very well maintained and CLEAN. The bed was a bit stiff, but tolerable. The only things I would change about this place would be a). update the electronics, and b). sleep by number and/or softer beds. Everything else was more than sufficient, and having a full kitchen with cookware and dishes was very nice. The staff was very helpful, particularly housekeeping. As far as beach access, the beaches are a bit far for foot access; however, the resort provides shuttle service to and from the beach access points - just call and ask for a ride to/from your room. The wife and I will definitely be back!

We wanted to stay at a resort that was secluded from a lot of other people but not far enough to get to other places around the island easily. You need to rent a car if you want to see things outside of the resort. Hospitality was wonderful at the Kapalua Villas. We had an upgraded villa that was very clean and very big. The view was great but if you want to be super close to the ocean you have to pay a lot more money. You also get to use the Ritz Carlton amenities (pools, fitness center, activities, etc) which are directly next door to the Kapalua Villas. There are 3 nearby beaches that are very clean and not very populated (at least when we went in June). There are tons of activities to do at the villas but are very expensive (zip lines, helicopter rides, golf etc.)There are many options to for dinning at the villas in all price ranges. I will go back to the villas

The Villas are a wonderful place to stay. We prefer the Bay Villas due to beach proximity. The room was luxurious, yet reasonably priced. The dining area had three glass walls which allowed a wonderful view. The service was great; the response to any request was almost instant. Parking was easy. Quality restaurants are within walking distance, as are three beaches. Access to the Ritz pool was provided. The general store provided necessities, and was a gathering place for morning coffee.

We stayed at a 2 bedroom ocean view condo. The condo was very clean and comfortable. Loved the gorgeous views of ocean from every room and the balcony. I would love to stay there again and would recommend this hotel to everyone. The only drawback is that the beaches are not accessible by walking, you have to drive.

We went for our anniversary and stayed at the Kapalua Villas for the first time. We usually stay at the Ritz, so I was a little apprehensive and sad to be staying elsewhere. But when we opened the door to our villa, we were so pleasantly surprised! Everything was modern and not too "islandy", the kitchen was updated with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, and fully stocked. In the fridge was a perfectly ripened pineapple awaiting us. The housekeeping comes twice daily to freshen towels and tidy things up. The best part was the ocean view from the living room--unbelievable. The resort has a handy charging system so you can charge things to your room at a variety of restaurants and shops, including the Ritz. You also have access to the pool at the Ritz and their beach. It would have been nice to have had a fitness center but we didn't miss it too much. We made up for it by going hiking (there are many trails--our favorite runs by the beach) and walking everywhere. A lovely stay with the conveniences of home and the freedom to eat/cook whenever and whatever with the perks of hotel service (minus the room service). Would definitely go back!

Kapalua is an awesome place. We stayed in the "fairway view" golf villas. We chose not to pay the upgrade fee for an ocean view, but were pleased to find out that most of the golf view villas have at least a partial ocean view, although at some distance. the resort shuttle service was handy and it was great to have access to all of the Ritz Carlton facilities on the resort property. Great place to stay with kids - plenty of room.

the orignal unit we were given was not baby friendly(tiled floors,no bath) when we specifically requested that option. We were moved to a ridge view as opposed to a bayview which we reserved. The new location was in the middle of street construction 730am every morning!!!! The power went out one night and they had NO CONTINGENCY PLAN. We have an 11 month old and finally an hour later they showed up with a flashlight

OK... first off i want to remind most people that it take more a energy to right a good review over a bad. So with that in mind here we go. If you really want to get nested in a cacoon of bueaty, Stay at Kapalua... Our first morning there we ate at the awesome Ritz Carton... The beaches were not crouded like every else, amost private at sometimes. I cant wait to go back.... Stewart

We paid extra for ""gold"" room. The carpet was destroyed. Stained and worn furniture. The window blinds were broken. We complained about toilet constantly running, shower facet broken, windows so dirty you could barely see through. NOTHING was done! Housekeeping is BARE. Towels replaced and bed linens. NO CLEANING!! We stayed for 2 weeks, only because we couldn't find another place to stay!! We will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. In fact, we recommend you don't either!! Did we mention construction?? You can't escape it. Honestly, if you're looking for a condo, keep looking.

This is a great property with access to some of the nicest beaches. You are essentially renting someone else's beach home for the price of a hotel room. The office staff are friendly and accommodating, the property is clean. Its a very welcoming environment. The only drawback I can think of is that its in the far end of Maui and going to the east side can be a bit of a haul

The Kapalua was a beautiful property, the condo was perfect, we had everything we could have possibly needed. The view off our balcony was amazing, a beautiful golf fairway, greener than any I've ever seen, and we could see the ocean too. It was just perfect.

The Kapalua Villas were ver comfortable and the rooms were very large. Our one bedroom Ocean view had two full bathrooms a kitchen and an amazing patio view. The staff was incredible and very willing to help in any possible way they could. We were givin tips and ideas for everything we wanted to do. I booked our trip 10 hours before our trip departed. Very short notice gave me little knowledge of what to do or even where exactly we were going. We just went! The staff helped us make our trip unforgettable. I would reccomend this place to any family or couple. The only downside was our room wasnt the cleanest. The staff and ammeneties made up for it all though!

The staff was accomodating and helped us plan appropriate activites for the whole family. The room, bathroom was spacious. The view? Breathtaking. The kitchen had all the comforts of home. We were within minutes of great snorkeling and swimming. However, a more adequate beach access from the rooms would be great! Quite a bit of construction going on, but we were never inconvienenced. We would definately return!

"Our villa was ""nice"" but ours needed updating as well and we were disappointed by this for the price. I believe you can do a ""GOLD"" package and this includes updated rooms. Golf is great. The Plantation Course was outstanding. NIce dining and store. Beaches not crowded.Very nice overall."

Kapalua is a wonderful place to visit and play golf, but the price is too expensive. You are renting someone's second home for a week. The unit was in need of repair and they charged you extra to park in a space owned by the people who own the unit. It should have been included in the price to rent the unit. They sluffed it off by stating that you pay $20 at the hotels to park your car. They charged $18 a day for local, long distance calls, parking etc. No one goes through the property switch board to make long distance calls. We used our cell phones and as I stated earlier the parking should be included. I consider the $18 just another Hawaii rip off. I will look else where in the future.

I requested an ocean view and what I got was a tennis court and parking lot view The room was in horrible shape the air conditioning was leaking on the wall and the bathroom ceiling was water damaged and cracking but wait there is more The pool was green and tiles were falling off the sidewalls The hotel only had on dining place on the grounds and the food was poor quality and way over priced
