Ok so after much research my husband and I chose this hotel for our honeymoon. We actually booked it as a package thru an online agency so you might want to check them out. We got a room facing the water and it was great. Huge balcony but if you get a water facing room then you will also have a view of the parking lot so make sure that is ok with you. The rooms were wonderful, definitely five stare and the concierge was extremely helpful when I called in advance to plan some surprises for my husband. Everyone there was really nice and helpful. One of my favorite things about this place was there buffee breakfast everyday. Wow so great and then you get to practically sit on the beach to eat it. Other than that I can't say the food was that impressive and it was really pricey and that is what we read in a lot of reviews but we figured we would not be eating at the hotel a lot so it was no big deal. I think this is really romantic but also ideal for children since they can swim with the dolphins and it has a private beach. I would really recommend this hotel as a top notch place to stay.

Whatever you do, stay at this hotel. Everything from the beginning to the end of our stay was amazing. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The rooms were just renovated and absolutely beautiful and the bed was the world's most comfortable. Because of its location, you're close enough to enjoy all of the amenities of Waikiki but far enough away to avoid the crowded beaches. We can't wait to go back!

The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. Spent the first day at the resort, tanned and walked around the beach. The view was absolutely amazing. Loved the rooms, very spacious, especially the bathrooms because there are two sinks with mirrors, and two closets, one on each side. The beds were also very very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, though we didn't try to Tokyo Tokyo restaurant that is supposed to be very good. The only downside is that there was a charge for a lot of things. There were no complimentary parking or complimentary internet, parking is a little expensive, but the internet charges were somewhat reasonable. The hotel had their own dolphins, so one of the activities was that you get to swim with the dolphins, definitely a bonus if you're travelling with kids. The view was lovely, a short walk to the beach and much less crowded than Wakiki. The advantage to that is that the hotel is away from the business of downtown wakiki, but then again, it also means that it takes a while for you to get anywhere central. overall a very very good experience. it's perfect for older couples as well as families. perfect for newly weds too!!!

"Beautiful hotel. Great location. Can't say enough about the staff--very friendly and extremely helpful. Loved our room had a great view of the golf course, mountains, and ocean. The beach is great there (no waves) and the dolphins are incredible. Great place for romance or just hang to have fun. Gave a 3 on sports only because we didn't utilize the kayaks (too windy)."

We've stayed at the Kahala a number of times over the past 5 years, and truly enjoy the experience. That being said, the hotel has suffered for the past couple of years as it was clear that some freshening up was needed (the rooms were beginning to look a little worn). Now that the hotel has changed hands, it is clear that much-needed improvements are being made. During our stay, workers were renovating the rooms on 3 floors of the 10-floor tower. It was not terribly disruptive, and I'm glad it is happening as the next time we stay I expect the rooms to be cleaner & more comfortable. The public areas are lovely and welcoming, as are the employees. We so enjoy the quiet beach and small pool and our daughter participated in the dolphin program this time - a true treat! We will be back and expect the hotel to be improved.

The location of the hotel is away from the Waikiki strip. If you like quietness, this is the hotel for you. It is not crowded on the beach, which I liked the most. The rooms are very nice and if you forgot to bring your toothbrush, shaver, etc. they have it in the room. When we arrived at the hotel, they greeted us with a lei and a cool minty towelette to wipe our hands and face. They helped with our luggage and valet our car (a bit pricey to valet or self park a car). Our rooms were ready for us but we had to stop by the front desk to register. That's when we found out that there was a small mistake with the rooms. They gave us 2 rooms with 2 double size beds when we wanted 1 room with a king size bed and the other room with 2 double size beds. It was no biggie. People make mistakes. The supervisor came by to help us out. She worked her magic and gave us an upgrade to a mountain view room and a partial ocean view room. Besides the small mistake with the rooms, this is an excellent hotel. The staffs are super nice and friendly. They greet us when we leave for the day and greet us when we come back for the night. They asked if we need directions to anywhere or beach towels if we are heading out to the beach.

This was my wife and I first time in Honolulu and we will stay at this resort again. We received first class service from the time we pulled up to the time we left

The Kahala was the best hotel I ever stayed at and the experience we had at the hotel resulted in Hawaii being my favorite vacation I've ever taken. The staff was exceptional as we found everyone to be helpful and responsive to our needs. I would rate it a 4 1/2 because we spent 3 days at the pool when construction with a jackhammer was going on and the element of noise did make our stay on the beach and at the pool less enjoyable for those days. One other note for couples. If you are looking to avoid kids this is probably not the place for you. I was surprised by the number of children at the hotel. There were quite a few at all times.

this hotel was absolutely perfect for me and my travel partner. it was pristine, and very beautiful. i can't remember when i've been as impressed by a hotel staff, they were unbelieveable. our mountainview room on the tenth floor also had a view of the ocean and haname bay. the room and the entire property was freshly renovated to perfection, but not overdone or stuffy. our bathroom was very large with two sinks, a tub and a shower. the balcony was very nice, also, and we could see the dolphin pool below us. the beach was more like a lakeshore, no real crashing waves. if you like walking on the sand, you can walk for about half an hour one way along a beautiful, quiet residential neighborhood. architecture buffs will love the 1960s building by a somewhat famous architect. this is not a huge resort where you are walking forever from room to pool, to car, ect. it is basically on tower with a wing of rooms over the dolphin pool. all of our meals were very good.

The hotel was wonderful... I would stay again when I go back. The dining was a little over priced but the food was very good. I came here to help heal from the loss of my husband and the staff was wonderful. Hopefully someday I will have enough money to travel again in better times.

The service was good in general but I got a problem with the key of my apartment that almost made a change in my plans and I expected some kind of compensation to spend 4 hours waiting to get my door opened.

"The hotel is very comfortable, luxurious even. The room was large and well furnished. The other facilities (gym, pool, restaurants) were excellent. It is located away from shopping and public transportation, so you may want to consider renting a car. "

This hotel has to be the best hotle I have ever stayed in. The rooms were great, there was three fabulous restraunts on site. The house keeping staff did a spectacular job and everyone was very friendly and it was close enough to Wikiki beach to go there ad far enough away to enjoy the beauty of Hawaii.

Food expensive cold and not good service bad I've written this review before but all you have printed ar e good reviews !!!!!!!! Why is that? My Hotel room safe was robbed and the hotel was not good to a thirty year returning guest imagine if I had been their for the first time. I will never return, The hotel was great in the old days but the new owners are as true to their customers as they were to me.
