We were there for a quick weekend, and because it was Gay Pride weekend, we knew we didn't want to be downtown or anywhere near Market Street, which would have been totally congested. It's a great location if you have car, less so if you don't but still manageable. But you're right in Japan Town and within minutes of Fillmore Street, which is full of great restaurants and shops.

The location, parking, & friendly staff. The bathroom was not very clean - the hairdryer had toothpaste stains all over it, covered with dust. The toilet leaked. Great location - shopping center on ground floor & parking garage in basement - all have direct access to the hotel elevator.

Fantastic hotel--enjoyed the tea service. Great location. Great staff. Great weekend.--Would return anytime and recommend to all. We had a corner room with great views.

We enjoyed the Japan town location. The hotel was a good compliment to the Japanese atmosphere. The flat rate parking for the day was nice.

Cool theme, great neighborhood. Maybe not for everyone but we loved it. The room was not quite immaculate but comfortable. Bathroom lacks a door. If you like unique experiences in ethnic neighborhoods, decent prices and good access to bus lines anywhere in the city, this place is it. If you want something traditional, perfect and yawn, well, I don't stay where you want to stay.

Convenient to our needs. Toilet area unheated - no bath soap-shower handle broke. The star rating, location, and price, fit our needs.

Visiting our son in S.F., my husband and I just wanted a clean hotel nearby. Honestly, we weren't expecting much for the price and this place exceeded our expectations. When we pulled up to the exterior of the Kabuki Hotel I wasn't at all impressed, but the second we walked into the lobby and saw the tranquil zen-like surroundings, we were very pleased. Front desk staff very polite and efficient. The room itself was very small, but beautifully appointed. The bathroom was especially nice - it has a separate little room with a deep tub, great shower and a unique Asian-inspired washing area. Nice view from the 13th floor. Lovely robes for guests. Very nice bar located off the lobby and a decent buffet breakfast. Valet parking was pricey, but well worth it. All staff was amazingly friendly.

The location was in a very safe environment, the Japanese gardens downstairs, and the bathtub! Valet parking is expensive, but they do offer a place to park that's 15/day that was actually near by. Hotel Kabuki was in the heart of Japan Town. It was fun to be able to go downstairs and be able to walk the streets safely whether or not it was day or night. The parking attendant told us about an underground parking lot that had access to several of the buildings, Hotel Kabuki being one of them. There was plenty of parking there and was a very short walk to the Kabuki building. The locals were very friendly and the shops were colorful and great. The hotel room was really nice and the deep Japanese soak tub was enjoyable. Took a little while to get help from the maintenance people the one time we needed them, but when they arrived, they were extremely helpful and nice. I'd definitely stay here again. They also have a really beautiful Japanese garden downstairs.

The room was lovely and hotel itself quite nice. We especially enjoyed the quiet, away from the hubub of downtown SF. Staff was helpful. Local transportation very convenient, although we walked many places. The beds were wonderfully comfortable. We also liked being able to open the slider to get the GREAT SF air.I will definitely stay here again. My out-of - state friends were impressed also.

High cost of onsite parking -- $35 a day. It's comfortable, clean, reasonable and convenient for anyone who wants to be in the Japan town area, and accessible to loads of restaurants, mostly Japanese.

Very pleasant. I would recommand this hotel. Rooms are small but bathroom is a nice size. A lot less money than staying in a Union Square Hotel and paying at least $55.00 per night to park.

The in-room soaking tub was extremely relaxing. The exercise room needs attention. The hotel stands next to the Japantown Peace Plaza, and we found the hotel itself to be very peaceful and relaxing. The beds were luxurious, the Japanese shower/tub ritual was relaxing, and the complementary visit to the Kubuki Spa was delightful. The neighborhood is quiet yet accessible to so much of San Francisco. Parking at $15 a day was reasonable, too!

Upon arrival the man at the front desk was rude and ignored the fact that I was standing there with my carry-on bags while he continued to engage in a mostly personal conversation with a female guest. I stood there for thirty minutes listening to him complain about having to work a holiday, why he never finished school, his annual salary, and etc. I know that I should have said something to them, but I could tell that she was a guest checking in too. I've worked customer service in the past and I believe in trying to be nice because it's a hard job to put up with people and their bad attitudes. However once I reached the counter he was rude to me and acted as if I was the one who made him wait.

Great linens, comfortable room size. I've stayed in many boutique hotels in SF, rooms are always very small. This hotel you could walk around comfortably and great bathtubs and nice linens.

The staff was very helpful and courteous. We really love staying in the Japantown area. Great Japanese food abounds in the area. Park in the parking garage below the Japanese mall- it is just $16 overnight, a far cry from what we have paid in other cities. The rooms at the Kabuki are Japanese influenced- something my wife and I really enjoy.

View, amenities such as Japanese tub, layout of room. High price of simple breakfast. Honor bar not stocked. Traditional tea- no selection. I live in San Francisco, we went here for our anniversary. Overall a good experience, but attention to some details would have made it even better. We were given a key to the honor bar, but it was not stocked. Traditional Japanese tea was supposedly provided, but there were only 2 tea bags in our room, no selection. I was surprised at the high price of simple breakfast of pancakes and French toast with juice and tea- $54 is a bit steep if you ask me. All in all, I have to say though, nice atmosphere, wonderful restaurant, polite staff.

The hotel was a bit of a walk from public transportation but in a safe and quiet area. The stay was enjoyable and we were able to access the museums and tourist locations via public transportation. The hotel has great amenities and was in good condition and had great food and shopping nearby. We did have one incident where illegal substances were coming in through the vents (in a nonsmoking room), but the hotel staff relocated us immediately and were very accommodating.

Modern, in Japan town, not too expensive. The hotel was nice and the people who work there are friendly. Need more affordable places to eat around that area though; had to drive looking for eats.

I love the Hotel Kabuki for both business and pleasure trips to San Fran. It's in a less hectic part of the city (japan town), easy walk to shops/restaurants, GREAT underground parking thats fairly cheap for City. It's got a very Zen and comfortable feel to it. The ONLY negative, is poor internet connection from rooms and have to usually go to business center (and pay) to access!
