We spent most of the time traveling around the island. Our favorites were the Ovaline Pools and the Blowhole north of the hotel off of Hwy 30 and the Road to Hana.

This is an older hotel, built around 1998. There is only one restaurant open - the bar and grill. There is not fine dining open presently. We waited 2-1/2 hours to get a room, and then were given a lesser room than we paid for. A online travel website offered us $50 to "make it right," far less than the upgrade we paid for an ocean view. The location is actually north of the main Ka'anapali beach area. There are no cooking facilities in the room. There is a refrigerator and microwave. The staff is very pleasant. The pool is quite large with a water slide. They offer Karaoke in the main bar two nights a week. If you don't wish to listen to this or participate, it's also the only restaurant on site. There is no room service. Parkins is $13 per day, even if you park yourself in the underground garage. The tours out of the hotel to Hana and Haleakala were phenomenal. The sunrise tour to Haleakala was VERY cold, about 20 degrees with wind chill. They allow you to bring the blankets from the hotel, but even with a ski coat, sweater, and blanket, we were still cold. There is an observation center you can go into, once it is opened. It was about 1-1/2 hours after we arrived that it opened. The hotel also has 4 grills if you wish to grill a steak. They have plates, silverware, glasses, etc., just no stove top or oven. There is a safe in the room.

The pool was great (a little cold, but nice)! The staff very friendly and our room was very well appointed. Large bath, nice living room and seperate bedroom. Very comfy! Snack bar and grill was pricey! Didn't eat there! Great shopping for food across the street, however! One thing not appreciated was the timeshare pushiness. Tell them no and walk away. Don't be lured by "we have a gift waiting for you" unless you're in the market for a timeshare. We weren't. Otherwise, we absolutely adored the hotel and came home well rested after two weeks.

We stayed at this resort (formerly an Embassy Suites) for 2 weeks and had a wonderfult time. A previous post noted not enough bath towels... the 2 of us had 8 bath towels, 6 hand towels and 6 washclothes which were changed once a week during maid service so were certainly had enough towels for the 4 days until they were changed! The suite was quiet and we had a lovely view of the pool and ocean. We enjoy staying on the Kaanapali side of Maui where the beaches are wonderful and there is a lot to do in Lahaina which is a 10 minute drive from this hotel. The only downside was the in-room internet connection was about $10 for 24hours; we would go a few blocks to CJ's Diner where the internet was free WiiFi.

We booked the Ka'anapali Beach Club looking for a long weekend getaway (we live on Oahu), and we were delighted with the hotel. If you're looking for a traditional hotel with cocktail waitresses roaming the pool and hand-and-foot service, then look elsewhere. This resort, converted to a timeshare property, is a great quiet, out-of-the-hustle place to relax and just enjoy being away from it all. My wife and I went there to celebrate our 5th anniversary (no kids yet), and were able to enjoy ourselves at a hotel that had young couples, families and older couples alike. There seemed to be no prevailing demographic, so we felt comfortable in the crowd all the time. The service we got was always good, but what impressed us the most as the hotel itself. Large suites, beautiful lobby and a beachfront location that framed breathtaking sunsets over the neighboring island of Molokai. There was plenty to do there at the hotel, but we chose to spend most of our days lounging on the beach or by the spacious pool that never seemed overcrowded. We would recommended KBC to any of our friends, and will definitely be going back.

The hotel was great - alittle dated, but the renovated rooms were really nice and so very clean. Huge bathrooms, comfortable beds, 2 flat screens, kitchenette...so very worth the value! The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel food was okay, but pricey. It was great going out to eat just to enjoy other restaurants on the island. Beach was beautiful and clear - alot of activities. Free breakfast buffet everyday was good. I would definitely be returning to this hotel!

It was a great hotel, nice and clean. But, considering the high cost, it's weird that they charge 12$ for parking, or 9$ internet access...

Definatly a first class hotel. Service was very good and the rooms were great. It was in a great location, if you explored a little. Only three drawbacks 1. no tennis courts 2..Our room was over a nosiey air conditioner unit overlooking the beach, but we couldn't sleep with the windows open. 3. This is a timeshare property, we got some free stuff to listen to the pitch, but it wasn't too bad. It was a well maintained property with friendly service.

Hotel was very family friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean. Service was good. Dislikes - We were told there was a full kitchen. Turns out there was no stove or oven. We were not informed of the $13/day parking fee. There were also fees for internet and the poorly maintained mini golf course. Also, not much in the way of restaurant choices.

We did not stay a lot in the hotel room, cause there was a lot to do outside;-) it was only a place we could rest after the whole day

The only bad thing that happened at this hotel was when we arrived, we were told the hotel had overbooked and they would have to move us to another hotel. Several parties arriving were told this. We complained and they magically found a room for us at The Kaanapali Beach Club. The accommodations were better than I expected and would definitely stay here again and recommend to a friend.

Had kitchen for cooking meals but would have been nice to have a stove. Front desk provided electric skillet which worked well for our needs. Gas grills on property a real benefit for barbecuing dinner.

All of the staff was great... The atmosphere was fun and relaxing. I would visit this hotel again, but I would not book another trip through Orbitz... every arrangement was messed up and we had to switch to this hotel after we arrived due to their misteaks, with an extra expense to us.

It was a great time. Plenty to do at the hotel, pool w/ water slide, restaurant, putt-putt, teen zone, movie nights, polynesian feast night, first time scuba lessons, scuba/snorkel/boogie boards/floaties available poolside, Maui Jim sunglasses complimentary try and buy, local grocery story w/i quarter mile in strip mall (kinda pricey though even for Maui). Bus shuttle right outside hotel on the hour for heading north or south to Whaler's Village. VIP parking underground. Only downside was local booking agency [...] was kicked out while we there. They are available in hotel right next door though. Snorkeling right out back of Hotel was best (better than Black rock and Molokini) for number and species of fish to view.

Good place to stay it's on a very nice beach with easy access the pool has a water slide and hot tub we loved the pool side cafe fun waiters. With children it's very nice all rooms are suites with big bathrooms you will feel right at home. This is the sixth time we have stayed there and will return soon.

all around great hotel, got a great deal, could not ask for more for what we paid. only drawback is the fact that this is a timeshare resort and we had to attend a timeshare seminar, otherwise would come back.

We had a great stay. We arrived @ 5ish pm and were told that our ocean view room was not ready. They gave us another room that had a partial ocean view and a view of the pool (thank you King!). It was fine. I would not recommend a mountain view room unless it's really cheap. We were on the 10th floor which had great views. Someone on a lower floor commented about not having a view/but they still loved their suite. All rooms are suites and are super large, especially the bathroom. Furnished kitchenette and grilles on property are a very nice touch. Definitely walk 5 mins to market and prepare your own food. Our room was immaculate/housekeeping was very attentive (thanks). Free wireless is available in the lobby. It would have been nice to have in the rooms. Renting a car is a must to get to/from airport and around the island. The pool is awesome. It was not crowed/busy and I was not at all bothered by the amount of children (thanks parents). Great beaches were everywhere, of course, but it was nice having a great one steps away from property. I was not offended at the cost of daily parking, but at that price we only tipped two bucks each time we picked up the car/not when returning to property. Definitely check out cocktails and live music at Jazzy Java (friendly service + decent food + acoustic music). We will stay here again!
