Very GoodSuperb location and clean well run establishment. Shame about the car park - not far away but with a laptop, overnight bag and suit carrier - by the time I got to the hotel, I was almost on my knees! Would be useful to know that there is a "pull in" at the front door to drop luggage off before parking the car. Would definitely stay again though.

Jurys Inn, Edinburgh is very well located just off the Royal Mile and within easy reach of transportation.

Previous review is right -- shower controls are odd, but manageable. Excellent value for a decent hotel room in the UK. 3 minutes walk from the train station - 5 minute walk to Royal Mile. Bring your own washcloth -- the hotel does not supply them. Clean room, comfortable bed. I would definitely stay here again.

Business trip EdinburghGood location, easy access for restuarants and bars. Parking is a short walk from the hotel, that's the only downside

Room & hotel were clean. Power in room and shower controls unlike anywhere else in Scotland, and no explanation given in room. Tiny shower, hard beds. Convenient location.

A good place to stay if you get a bargain rateThe Jurys Inn was once a government office building, which should give you a good sense of its architectural interest; we're not talking a pretentious design temple here, which is fine with me. Instead, the Jurys is a clean hotel with a friendly staff and a great location--just one block off the Royal Mile. If you get a good rate, this is a fine place to stay; I would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to others.

one of the best in EdinburghSuperb central location and for rail and bus links. Clean and relatively spacious room . We stayed on the north side, 7th floor and the view of Edinburgh more than made for some traffic/railway noise. The staff were extremely helpful, for example bringing a fan, unexpectedly, to our room after we mentioned in conversation that the room was warm. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for its location, accommodation and considerate and efficient staff.

Central Hotel We initially had a group of 16 which we found hard to get into other hotels in edinburgh, but the jurys inn was spot on. The hotel's location was surprising considering the cost per room, between 3 per room we were quids in. the only let down was the £4 cost of a pint of larger. especially as the sports bar 1 minute down the road was only £1.60. But that is a small thing which would not put me off in future.

For a 4* hotel this was very poor. I chose this over a holiday inn express thinking it would be better, but I was mistaken. The room quality was poor, dirty and smelt of damp in the bathroom. The cupboard was just an open closet and the crockery was filthy.Security seemed poor. You needed your room card to swipe before entering the lifts to the rooms. However anyone could enter the lift with you without swiping their cards, which we saw a group of young teenagers do. Would definately not stay here again!

I had heard good things about Jurys Inn's as a whole and looked forward to staying at the hotel, although the hotel was okay and the room was pleasant enough I don't think I would have liked to have paid anymore than I did for the time we spent there - we were placed above an entrance point to what I presume was a service entrance so trolleys were moved around early morning time causing it to be quite noisy other than this an okay stay

This hotel is well appointed, good value and ideally situated for Waverley Station. The only criticsm we had was that some of the cooked items at breakfast were overcooked.

overpricedthe room was ok,bathroom very small.the cooked breakfast had quite a good choice but was cold and tasteless.the bar facilities were good but massively overpriced,£4.00 for a pint of beer and £4.80 for a bottle of cider, come on jury's theres a credit crunch!!!think i could get better value for money elsewhere in edinburgh

My Stay 28/5 - My cancellation 31/5Having booked the hotel online (declaring 2 adults and 2 children) I was at first allocated a room with one single bed in it. After returning to reception I was then given another room with one double bed and one single bed in it. Upon asking about the fourth bed I was told that there were no \"Z beds\" available. ( I wondered where this \"Z bed\" could have gone anyway as the room was so cramped there was no room for one). At this point my children were hungry, tired and restless after having travelling for over 5 hours and we were due to meet friends for a prebooked meal so I decided that we would make do.Upon returning to the room later on I opened the window as the heat was stifling. By doing this I was greeted with the constant and loud hum of either generators or air con units (not that there was any sign of air con in my room) and my children complained that they could not sleep because of the noise. The windows were shut and the four of us climbed into the two beds in order to try and get some sleep. Throughout the night I was constantly awoken as was my wife and eldest daughter by the noise from the machinery outside and the glare, through the curtains of a multi storey stair well which was exceptionally well lit and only about 3 metres away from the window. In a vain attempt to try and find some distraction through the long night I tried the television to find that there was a terrible signal for all channels, if and when, the remote worked. We all left the hotel early the next morning in a very tired state. We were due to stay on the 31/5 at the hotel but couldn't endure it for another night. In fairness I have to say I was bitterly dissapointed with the hotel as, having stayed at several other Jury's Inns, I have always previously found them extremely well appointed. (This was the reason why I booked this one for my family and myself)

The acco mmodation is vey standard of its type. There was a lightbulb gone and the TV didn't work (they did offer to change the room).Other than that it does the job for the 10 hours or so for which I neened it.
