The resort is beachfront and the tropical setting is beautiful. Pool, kayaks, catamarans, snorkling and diving are all available steps from the hotel lobby. The rustic bugalow room was comfortable and air conditioned with basic amenities. A bench on the porch allowed for sunrise and ocean viewing. The restaurant has delicious fish and conch dishes. The huevos rancheros is a great breakfast item and the coffee is rich and heavenly. The culture is very laid-back and that is reflected in the service. The Gift shop, restaurants, lobby and housekeeping serivces open and close depending on island time despite schedules being posted, so get rid of your watch and don't rely on hours of operation or you'll be disappointed.

The hotel does a number of things well. The rooms are decent, the staff friendly, and they have a fairly nice beach area (for this island). They also did nice job at keeping things clean. Unfortunately, they seemed to miss on a number of small things. My biggest gripe is that they charge their guests extra for booking trips (virtually every hotel in the world is happy with the tour operator's referral fee). Do yourself a favor and BOOK YOUR ACTIVITIES DIRECTLY WITH THE TOUR OPERATOR IN TOWN. This one cost me an extra $50 (US). Another gripe is that there is no real good way to get to town for dinner / nightlife. A water taxi exists, but its $16/person RT. When coupled with 'island prices,' it makes an evening out quite expense. t would be nice if they offered even a single boat run into town, say out at 6:00 and return at 9:00. I should mention that they also rent bicycles, but those bikes are very poorly maintained. Another grip is that they do not have any hooks in the rooms. People come here to dive. Divers are going to have to rinse out their wetsuits, swimsuits, etc and then try them out. Give them a place to do it. Yea, nitpicks all, but there are dozens of basically identical hotels along the beach.

This resort has the best service I've ever recieved. We were intending to get married at another location, but as soon as I saw the resort, I quickly changed my mind. We decided for sure about a day before the actual wedding and somehow the staff at Journey's End put together the most beautiful wedding I could imagine within 24 hours. They came up with the bouquet, the dinner, the menu, everything. They even decorated the area with palm leaves and flowers and a beautiful arch. I did absolutely nothing but hear what they had planned and say "sounds great to me". I just couldn't believe what they did for us in such short notice. The staff stood at a respectable distance away and watched. Everyone that worked there knew who we were and congratulated us. They met my guests at the airport and escorted them to the hotel where they were greeted at the dock with rum punch. Unbelieveable. Becuase of the service of kindness of their staff, my husband and I will be returning. It's a beautiful scene that's only rivaled by it's service. I wholeheartedly reccomend this hotel to anyone looking for a queit, quaint, and beautiful experience.

This is advertised as a 4 star hotel and is more like a 2 star hotel. The location from town is too far with only transportation by water taxi (not free) or bike through difficult, unsafe pathways. No phone or tv in the rooms. Traveling during hurricane season is a bad idea since information is difficult to get by with only one phone on the resort for all guests and without tv or internet available. Swimming in the ocean is impossible due to debris. Overall I was unhappy with service and would not recommend to stay here.

"The Staff was amazing. They booked all of our activities for us, arranged flights, taxi's, etc. The Presentation of the food and LUNA was great. They will often times even cook anything you catch. The room was nice and cozy. They grounds were kept up daily."

Thank God that we only had to stay one night at this resort! We purchased a timeshare at another resort and got of of this one! Their website advertisies things that haven't even been built yet and the staff is incompetent! The room was below average and the toilet didn't even flush.I would NEVER recommend this resort to anyone!

"Intimate resort ideal for R&R but have enough activities for families on the property. Rooms smaller than pictures but romantic and beautifully decorated. Food at restaurant delicious. The town, San Pedro ,10 minutes away by water taxi and takes view hours to explore. Make stops at Ethel's and Fido's Sandbar. The staff at Journey's go out of their way to make it easy for all. The spa services weregreat. Would be nice if they can domassages on the beach...Try Rendevouz Restaurant next door, food excellent!Overall, Belize makes great memories..."

"A short 10 minute water taxi ride from San Pedro, Journeys End is a small, relaxing, laid back resort, with pleasantly decorated private accommodations. Food is good, service excellent, location (north of San Pedro) adds to the sense that you are away from it all. The regular island ferry makes getting into the town, taking excursions or dining at other resort restaurants easy and pleasurable. Diving organized on site. "
