There was always something to do every night whether it was Karoke, Contests, Dancing, etc. and even during the day, there was pool volleyball, water aerobics, etc. The staff was excellent -- very friendly and helpful. We met some great people while there -- locals as well as other Americans and Brits. This was my second time at this hotel and I would go back again.

My room was a real desaster. There was a BIG leaking in the bathroom roof and still in the hotel where asking me how big was the leaking cause if it wasnt that ¨bad¨ they were not going to give me another room. Finally I was given another room. This hotel needs a FULL makeover. The food is HORRIBLE.

The Jolly Beach resort was great... The food was amazing even at the buffet. The reasurants were really nice and the people were very nice. The room was nothing like the picture it was alittle dumpy looked run down BUT the balcony was great and the veiw was amazing. The grounds at this hotel made up for the room. The beach was never crowded because it was so big... There was always a lounge chair and clean towels available. The Island men and woman were so nice too. I would definatly go back again! Oh yeah and when I checked the weather it showed rain everyday so I got scared I would be rained in and it rained a total of 10 minutes that we were there. There was tons of tours to do and the entertainment at night was great. I didn't take my kids with me and if I go again wouldnt. The kids club looked alittle like a joke and kids would be bored. Not many kids there anyway.

I was SO completely and TOTALLY blown away by my experience here! This was such a wonderful vacation and I really can't wait to go back again! The Room: (We stayed in an Standard room (Room 2010) with a absolutely gorgeous view of the beach. The bed was comfortable- could have had a few more pillows, but I didn't care about that at all. There was a gorgeous deck to sit on and watch the amazing sunsets. All in all, while basic, the room had everything you should need while on vacation. If you're looking for marble bathrooms and oak furniture- it's not your place. The food:It was impressively great! The buffet, the 3 speciality restaurants, all the food was very good and the service was wonderful! All in all, I was VERY impressed!The service:I am STUNNED to hear about people saying the staff was rude. I thought not only the staff, but the people in general (including other guests) were incredibly friendly and polite. The overall experiece:It was a wonderful time and a truly memorable experience. We got WAY above what I had anticipated based on the money we spent. There were 6 weddings while we were there-- I spoke to many of the families wiht those parties all of whom said it was wonderful. There were people with children of all ages and it seemed like everyone had a lovely time.

Jolly Beach isn't a terrible hotel, but it's not that great. The hotel needs maintenance -- it is showing its age with wear and tear. The staff varies between extremes. I experienced many waitstaff who were extremely nice and helpful, however, the manager at the spa was outright rude to me. If other options are available, I would recommend that travelers stay elsewhere.

I stayed at this hotel because it was the largest that Antigua had to offer, but I was wrong about larger being better. I got a standard room thinking it would be good enough for two but it was under "standard" quality. I have been all over the caribbean and never had a room this bad. The funiture was built right into the walls (not like the pictures). The balcony was small and dirty. The bathroom - yuck! dont get me started on the bathroom. As for the staff, some were extremely nice and some were extemely not. We NEVER got a pleasant face from staff at the Coconut Grill, they were especially rude as if we were bothering them or something. The food was okay. The only thing that was nice was the activities staff trying to interact with the vacationers, they had game and activities for the kids. The pool was beautiful from far, but when you get upclose, you wised you never got in. It had mold or something growing on the sides. Oh and for the towels...bring your own. This hotel deceives the eyes. It looks nice from far but, it is far from nice. I should have considered the other reviews before booking and I suggest you do the same. In conclusion, the island of Antigua is a beautiful place to visit but this hotel is a very very big disappointment, it is certainly not worth the money...STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Room doors are not solid. It's covered with the blinds so when someone is talking in the hallway you can hear everything. Loud voices of my neighbors woke me up every morning. Although for the first 3 days I had very considerate neighbors and it was fine. Maybe the staff should warn guests during their check-in that they shouldn't shout and chat in the hallways. My brother had a medical problem (allergy) during the trip and the hotels nurse sent us to the Mount St. Johns hospital. We spent our entire day there from 11.30 a.m. till 8.30 p.m. and barely made it to the dinner. There was another hotels guest who came to the hospital in the afternoon and returned to the hotel at 11.30.p.m. I suggest that the hotels management knowing how bad the medical system is should make an agreement with the hospital to give the hotels guests a priority to see a doctor. We wasted our precious time and a lot of money. This experience spoiled a great impression we had in the beginning. God forbid you will have a medical emergency there.

Seconed time, Jolly Beach. Best beach on Island. People, wonderful. Aren't used to tips so a few dollars,at bar they take care of you.Italian(excellent). Buffet very good,service at all excellent. After 10, no food available, grocery store, Jolly Harbor, cheaper for water ect. Entertainment, excellent. Very friendly and get to know you.Pools are fab and clean. BEACH to die for, mostly empty, clean, glowing turquoise water,calm. Rooms need work . Water a trickle sometimes, alot are showering.Grounds, beautiful. Atmosphere .Half the price of Sandals, best value, Best BEACH!

Facility is very old and not maintained. Bath room was infested with pests. None of public phone was working. There is trap to use phones in room with your credit card and you will be hit with huge bill. Property owner is partner in crime. Innocent guest are victims. I will not go again and do not recommend any one to visit Jolly beach.Very disappointed.

This hotel gave the least value for my money I have ever had. It is a very expensive hotel and the food is not reflected in the price. The food was very mediocre and limited. The restraunts had many suppliments which were inappropriate for an all inclusive... if you wanted shrimp, steak lobster and some other things there were 22- 32US suppliments. The Italian restraunt had very specific dress code and my sons shoes did not meet with their approval so we were denied entry. The manager was very condesending and rude on this subject.I would not reccomend this hotel nor would I return

the hotel needs major renovation and improvement. there is inadequate lighting and signage on buildings. grounds are not as manicured as expected. food at all inclusive leaves much to be desired. they serve grain alcohol... buy your own...rooms are minimal and towels are like sandpaper and are scarce.

What a beautiful beach setting. Manicured grounds w/mature planting. Birds singing all the time. Located right on the beach in addition to 2 pools. outdoor grill for lunch as well as the other restaurants, including the buffet. The buffet for breakfast, lunch & dinner was a plentiful display. Although the rooms need updating & water pressure in the showers is nil, you cant beat the beach with plenty of water sports & boat tours. Beach vendors friendly & not too intrusive. All age groups, casual atmosphere. Some live entertainment in the evening, but resort becomes quiet around 8:30 pm. Small gift/souvenir/essentials shop on premises. Activities for the kids including 2 pool tables, pingpong.

The staff at Jolly Beach are very friendly and always in a good mood. Of course who could not be with the beautiful weather in Antigua? It was our first visit. Our check in was a little rocky, they had us as a no show for day 1, told us we never checked in on day two?and then we had to go down a third time on day 3, sign on the internet and give them more paperwork. Then when we went to check out they said we were not due to leave until the next day. BUT the whole time they were very friendly about all of it. The resort is far removed from anything else. We rented a car and drove around but in all honesty the roads and driving conditions there are simply frightening. I do not recommend renting a car. We stayed in the supersaver room, so it was the smaller room but there was enough space. Beware of the abyss in the shower. The shower curtain was so short the whole bathroom floor got wet when we showered. Having said that, it was a GREAT SHOWER - lots of powerful water! It felt great after a day at the beach and before heading to dinner. Due to the economy the restaurants were closed on certain evenings which was rather disappointing but understandable for these times. Also they required payment of 4 people for excursions ? even if you only had 2 people. Needless to say we did not purchase any excursions. We went scuba/snorkeling with Jolly Divers (shallow dive) but the visibility was not good. If you go to Jolly Beach be sure to see if the painter is by the main pool ? he is truly an artist and does beautiful paintings of the beach. Also Crabhole Village at the south end of the beach has souvenirs, jewelry and you can get a massage. (Sigh) (Warning ? be sure to remove the oil before going back in the sun. The locals on the beach - BEWARE ? do not show interest the first day unless you want to be hounded every day by the others. Also we got a call every day about coming for free bottle of rum?it was about buying a timeshare. That was annoying. All things considered we

"The room was basic, but very clean. We were right off the beach. The beach is fabulous and so is the big pool. The drinks never stop. Staff is great if you are pleasant and friendly to them. The bugs on the beach at night were bad. Bring bug spray. The best star gazing we have ever encountered. The food at all of the restaraunts was really, really good. The locals hawking on the beach can get tiresome. Had a great time, plan on going back this fall."
