I would not have chosen this hotel, my friends did; but I had such a pleasant stay I cannot knock it. I like to be in the heart of things, and this is out of the city but it is close to major roadways and convenient for those who travel by car. It does offer complimentary van service and we made full use of this extra goody. It was clean, the pool and spa are nice, and the lobby is homelike. I am not a fan of free waffles and meager breakfasts but they do attract busloads of seniors and this hotel stays busy. my room was spacious, quiet, and the mattress was just right. because of the busloads, check-in can be a hassle for the single traveler.

The staff at this hotel was the friendliest I have seen. Refrigerator was not cold enough.

This hotel was very clean the staff could not have been any friendlier and more helpful. Both the evening and morning staff were great!! I always saw someone cleaning something. I had a couple of special requests and the staff went out of there way to help making my stay great.I would go out of my was to stay there again if i went to South Bend again. There were many restaurants close by and was close to Notre Dame University and down town. Don't hesitate to stay here!!!!!!

The Jameson Inn is a very nice hotel. The beds are comfortable but there were not enough. blankets. The A/C and heat in the room worked great. The ice machine had plenty of ice/The hot tub was not particulary hot, but the pool was a great temperature! The hotel was pretty quiet. The breakfast was spectacular! If you stay here, you will not need to go out for breakfast at all! The coffee in the lobby was excellent, but the coffee in the room was not. The breakfast had everything from cereal to fresh waffles, bagels, and muffins. My only major compliant would be the shuttle service in the morning. I set up the time for the shuttle the morning before and then double checked to make sure I would have a ride to the airport the night before, but when I came down for my ride in the morning, I had no ride. The girl at the desk called a cab for me, but I had to pay for it myself. End result, I would not rely on the shutter service at this hotel, but the quality of the hotel overall is great.

Shopping was a little ways away. Not something I was looking foward to.

Excellent location, friendly, helpful staff and pleasant accommodations. The location was just off of the tollway entrance/exit and close to Notre Dame. Staff was most helpful in recommending places to dine and in giving directions.

For the price this was a nice place to stay and very well maintained. The only problem we encountered was a group which had a party right next door to us. The hotel apologized and moved us to another room, which was OK with us. Rooms were clean, buffet was very nice with waffles and fresh fruit. Close to several places to eat and to Notre Dame.

Staff. Couldn't receive my telephone call directly. Went into voice mail even though I was there. Good. Would stay there again. Hallway was obstructed with cleaning carts and dirty laundry upon arrival and departure. Couldn't get my baggage cart through easily. Reported it to day manager, thought she was going upstairs to give heads-up to staff, but didn't. Also need to find out why an incoming call didn't ring into the room. Didn't even light up on the phone near my bed that I had a message waiting for me. I was sitting next to the bed table phone waiting for this call to come in. A phone across from the bed sitting on the desk did record the call.

Our family has stayed at MANY SB hotles. This one is one of the best so far.It has been redone and taken over by another hotel chain. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again in a heart beat!VERY close to ND. We walked to the campus and back everyday.

We were in South Bend to visit Notre Dame. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful in answering questions about the area. My daughter loved the waffles at breakfast, and there was always coffee and tea in the lobby. The only negative for me was that the area seemed a bit too commercial (gas stations nearby and a closed restaurant next door), but once you were inside the hotel, that didn't really matter. I would definitely stay there again!

The pool was empty and the free breakfast was good. The room smelled like onions and the shower needed an upgrade. We just needed a place to stay for the night, so we weren't expecting much, So, I can't really complain. The room smelled like onions, there was a lot of noise in the middle of the night, and the pool water probably needs to be treated more frequently. But for a low price, this hotel met my expectations.

Location. No internet access, they told fibs, even switched rooms. A good location, friendly staff, and nice public areas, small rooms and no internet.

The Jameson Inn overall was a great place to stay. I'm originally from the area and this was a very convenient spot as well as being within my budget. There are a lot of casual resturants within a few minutes drive. Notre Dame is easily accessible if your going to South Bend for that reason. Rooms were moderately spacious and very clean. Staff was just okay but it was busy at the time of check in, I just happened to be checking in the same time as a hockey team. Refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms are convenient, as well as there continental breakfast that was better than I had anticipated.
