The hotel and the pools were impeccable however they were renovating the piano lounge and we were not able to sit and have a drink there. It would have been better if we were able to have the use of this.

Beach and swimming pool. No services at all and many extra charges example WiFi. This hotel is good for 2 to 3 days only not at all for long stay.

Wow, what a great hotel. We were upgraded to a large beautiful suite. The staff was wonderful and went out of their way to meet our every need. We had an exceptional dinner at their italian restaurant-great food and great service. The only thing missing was the lack of a beach. It was a unique experience, however, to feel like you were a part of the ocean because it was right on top of you. We can't wait to return.

Very relaxing and enjoyable for the most part, and the pool wasn't packed like other places. Staff extremely helpful and friendly with one exception(poolside waitress very pushy when asking for a tip). The main lobby was undergoing construction when we arrived, so there was no immediate view of the ocean upon entrance, and it took us a couple of days to navigate around the best way to reach the pool and beach area from our room. My family and I loved it, but I really didn't find any major diferences between the 5 star rated JW and the 4 star rated Marriott that I've stayed in at Puerto Vallarta before.

Excellent customer service. Pool closed at 10 p.m. The pictures don't speak for the outstanding customer service I received at this hotel. The room was outstanding and the view from it was breath-taking.

5 diamond hotel lives up to it's rating. I did'n visit the fitness facility. Pool and beach were wonderful. Service was awesome. I felt like Paris Marriott.

The hotel was very nice- Clean, etc but a bit boring....Felt like we were in a Ghost town. The Restaruants were a dissapointment. The seafood place was supposed to open before we came but didn't (i see they are telling people that it is closed for renovation and will now open next week - same thing they said to us two weeks ago). Also for breakfast the only option besides roomservice is the buffet. For 2 people no extras it was $56.00 Oh ya and $4.50 for a can of coke! Eat out or get room service it's actually cheaper. I also enjoy hearing music at the pool. There was no music playing - no bars open. It was just really quiet at the hotel..

Great trip! Hotel was wonderful - spacious and great view and great service! Never felt crowded. Pool was beautiful and interesting features that kept my two 10 year olds busy. Fitness center was great- everything you needed for a good workout. Cancun was fun and safe. Only downside was that there was no beach.

All rooms towards the ocean. Very nice pool and beach facilities. A little sloppy cleaning at times. Excellent hotel with very nice staff. Would recommend anyone to stay here. Well worth a few extra dollars.

Traveling with 2 teenagers can be a pretty rough experience but with the amenities, service & staff it was a really great trip. Here's a quick note ~ if you're there to relax & tan, the property is beautiful. However, the lounge chair to guest ratio is a little off and the hotel casts a shadow across most of these by 2pm (at least our stay 11/25 - 12/2). So we'd tan until 2 and then go into town to shop/explore. Food is tasty and pricey. Drinks were great...and pricey. We spent most of our meals at local restaurants so it wasn't too painful on the wallet. We're not really the resort type of family so we may have a different view than others who have posted review, but I can tell you for sure * the staff was extremely attentive and friendly * the grounds are immaculate * exchange rate is better than the exchange houses * atmosphere is quiet ~ piano bar singers instead of party music If we decide to go the resort route on the next trip to Cancun, we're definitely going to stay there.

This was my sixth time traveling to Cancun. The JW Marriott was outstanding. The resort is beautiful, the service was immpecable. The pool area was very nice and clean. I have stayed at the Fiesta Americana Coral Beach, the Riu Las Americus, and the Marriott Casa Magna. This was by far my favorite experience in Cancun. The Casa Magna is also very nce, which is next door to the JW, however the Jw just has that extra touch. The room was spacious, the bathroom was very nice with seperate tub and shower, granite double sink countertop, and private toilet area. The hotel is a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport, and a 15 minute bus ride to the action. I was traveling alone with my 13 year old daughter, we both had a great time. Do not be afraid to take the bus. It cost us each a dollar h to ride the bus each way. It was safe, and adds to the experience of travel. We spent time shopping at the Isla shopping area. Many good stores and restaurants. Outdoor mall area with an aquarium where you can swim with dolphins. We did not go into Cancun city as things are a bit more dangerous in Mexico these days. We stayed in the resort area, and ventured out along the strip, and felt completely safe as always. The only disappointing thing about our trip this time was the beach was gone! We had traveled to Cancun at the end of December and could walk the beach, not this time. My understanding is the north winds had come in and since hurricane wilma, the sand has been very soft, and easily washes away with the tide. They are planning to rebuild the beach as the winds change direction this summer. I highly recommend the JW, also sign up for the buffet breakfast as a package deal. It is very nice and is served from 6:30am-noon everyday. If not included in your stay, the buffet costs $25.00 per person. We had it included, and then went for dinner elsewhere. It helped keep the cost of our trip down. Happy travels to Cancun!

Pros: Polite and helpful staff. Clean and great room. Great view of the ocean and pools from room. Excellent pools and services. Cons: There was construction going on during the day(end of Nov 2008). So some noise issues but not too bad. Simply Seafood restaurant food was less than average.

We had a great stay after we got the right room. They said they only had rooms with king size beds available but we could upgrade to a suite for $80 per night. After showing them our printed reservation, they magically found a "two queen bed" room for our family. After that, everything was fantastic. Quiet rooms, all with views of the ocean. Beautiful pools. Very friendly staff. The only bad thing was if you wanted a chair next to the pool you need to go down and claim a spot before 7:00am or they will all be gone. Some spots had towels on for the entire time I was there (8-2) and no one showed up and the staff will not remove the belongings.

Phenomenal facilities beach and pools. Cost of food and drink. Jew is a great hotel -- comfy beds, great service, nice lobby and restaurants and, generally, a nice ambiance. Our only complaint is the outrageous cost for food and drinks at the hotel.

We chose this hotel partly based on other travelers' reviews and we were not disappointed. Great hotel, great service, excellent location. Very close to town with the Cancun bus service (get pesos for the buses or small dollar bills, you can pay in usd but the change will be either in pesos or non existent). The pool area in this hotel is fantastic, with a wonderful view of the Caribbean sea. Due to Hurricane Wilma, the beach is narrower than it used to be, but it is quite adequate, it is cleaned nicely compared to other areas and there are plenty of areas to swim close to the hotel without worrying about jutting rocks. The buffet breakfast was good and plentiful but a bit pricey at $20.00 per person if you don't eat that much. We found that a lot of people used the hotel store to purchase coffee and a bagel, or a muffin, at a much cheaper price. There are also some stores available across the street from the hotel (the cheapest one was OXOX or was it XOXO). The rooms were very nice, they all seem to have a view of the Caribbean sea. The hotel next door is also a Marriott, we tried restaurants at both hotels, and liked them a lot, especially La Capilla in the Casa Magna Marriott. We have stayed at dozens of different hotels in Cancun over the years and this one rates very high on our list, we will go back.

Great service and beautiful room with a view. Cleanliness of pool and pool restrooms needs improvement. This was a beautiful hotel with wonderful rooms (very comfortable beds) and outstanding service. The lobby and pool area were beautiful. Three restaurants to choose from on hotel grounds. The spa was beautiful and I recommend visiting the indoor pool. Hotel was close to public transportation and outside restaurants and activities. The pool and pool restroom needed a little attention.
