Great hotel in a great location. Close to everything we wanted to do.

Upscale feel, decor was very nice andfelt newly remodeled. Very nice upscale hotel for short stays.

Nestled a few blocks away from Union Square, the JW Marriot was a comfortably luxurious stay. The room itself was well kept, clean, and elegant. With an extremely comfortable bed and a great view, we enjoyed what time we spent there. There are some cable TV channels available if you are feeling lazy, which was great when we were tired after a long day and just needed to relax. The shower, however, was a bit on the small side, which was odd. The dining options at the hotel were delicious, but very expensive for what you get. The fitness center is large and clean, but the business center is way too expensive to really utilize ($0.45/minute just for internet). The elevators are fast and large, so you'll never have to wait long to get to the lobby or ground floor. The staff goes out of their way to help, making you feel like a VIP. Overall, the service was top notch. The location of any hotel in San Francisco is imperative, especially if you don't have a car like us. While it could be closer to Union Square (and thus the Powell St. bart), the walk to the nearest bart is an easy one. In addition, there was usually a cab waiting at the hotel thanks to how slow business in SF is right now. Overall, this hotel was a pleasant one. Though it didn't blow me out of the water, it was a fine stay that I wouldn't mind repeating.

Overall, my wife and I liked this hotel. But, for a flagship JW Marriott property, we were not overly impressed. The hotel has a very modern styling with no greenery in sight. The location is 2 blocks from the trolley, and 5 blocks to BART. Shopping at Union Square is 2 blocks away. Parking at the hotel was 45 per night; acroos the street is 15. All restraunt recommendations and tours made by concierge were outstanding. Our room was clean and bed was comfortable. Again, very modern. The seperate shower was very small. Two seperate sinks would be nice.

We thought the hotel was great and had awesome staff. They were very helpful and helped us with all of our needs. Our only regret is that we wish we would of gotten a hotel closer to the fisherman's wharf. The hotel is located close to union square shopping. The only down side we found is, the money that we saved on our hotel room was lost in transportation down to the wharf.

Room was classy and modern with a very comfortable bed a pretty bath. We had 2 rooms for 5 of us and they were not able to give us 2 queens. Doubles for 2 were a little cramped.

Our stay was fine, the room comfortable and clean. The concierge service was excellent--perhaps the highlight of our stay. Our only concern was the price, which we considered a bit high even for downtown San Francisco.

On my last stay in San Francisco I stayed at the Marriot on Market st. and I'd reccomend that hotel over this one. The location and overall hotel was just a little bit better than the JW. The rooms are little bigger, there is a big and beautiful lobby with a starbucks, the muni is right outside the hotel, and the bart and cable car are about a block away. At the JW the complimentary town car is nice, but only available 7-930am and 530-9pm and it's on first come, first serve basis, so don't count on it. The bed was amazing! the tub in the bathroom is nice and big. The nights were quiet, I didn't hear any traffic on the street. The fitness room is a decent size with a variety of equipment. My only complaints are the distance to all the transportation systems (about 4-5 blocks) and I never got the replacement water bottles that I asked for.

My husband and I stayed at the JW Marriot for our anniversary and were very pleased. The satff was friendly and V, the desk clerk, upgraded our room when she found out it was our anniversary. We had a fantastic, clean, modern room overlooking the city. Bath robes, and chocolates on the pillow greeted us, as well a great hi-def flat screen tv. The concierge was well informed and booked a tour of the city for us, airport transportation, and the restarant he recommended was exceptional. The hotel was in the perfect location in the city, two blocks from union square, with no outside traffic noises. My husband and I would highly recommend this hotel!!

The hotel was nicely situated a block from Union Square - so convenient but not quite as crowded right around the hotel. The room was quite nice, and the staff was helpful with a number of small requests for help. The lobby bar is set up in an unusual way, but it worked for us. There are all manner of seating areas - tables, couches, and even little areas with a tv, table and chairs, as if set up for an informal meeting. We spent a comfortable happy hour in one of these areas - private and relaxing for a hotel bar.

The shower was nice Busy Streets. The room was beautiful. No view but the cleanliness made up for it.

I thought the hotel was great. I've never stayed in a Marriot, I normally do Hyatt's so I was a little wary. But it was a great stay for me. Great location, transportation is super easy. Some construction going on at the hotel, but other than the tarp on the 4th? floor you'd never know. If you don't want to be disturbed by turn down service or staff offering ice put the "do not disturb" tag on the door, that was the only thing that bugged me. Otherwise fabulous hotel.

The JW Marriott was the perfect location for shopping, dining, Chinatown and all local transportation. Check-in was very quick and easy. The glass elevators that run up the center of the property were very fast. The concierge was very helpful. The rooms were fairly large for San Francisco and very well appointed. There was a scale in the bathroom which was a first for us. A nice large plasma TV was in the room and the bed was very comfortable. The maid service usually came before noon and keep the room very clean. We had a deluxe room and were on the 15th floor with a fairly nice view. I will stay at this property again when I return to San Francisco.

Room was beautiful, staff was exceptionally responsive! Excellent hotel, well priced, staff was very courteous and fast. I stay in SF frequently and will probably stay here every time from now on.

The rate paid was very high for a bed that was dirty and contain black particle of dirt. At 2 AM, one does not have time to ask for room clean-up.At check, staff efficient, but incredibly rude. I was asked to come back to sign some papers, becuase they ran out of copies.Asking for direction, I was given wrong information -Asking for a CAP, it took 30 minutesVallet parking - excellentAll in all, not worth the month the money - certainly not marriott quality

I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend in San Fran, largely because of my stay at the JW Marriott. I'd definitely stay there again.

The JW Marriott on Post was a great choice. For the last 18 years our foursome has gone shopping for long weekends. This was our first stay at the JW but we will go back. The hotel has been redecorated since it was the Pan Pacific. It's warm, modern and the rooms are generous. Our beds were comfortable and we heard very little street noise. The bath was luxurious and had seperate tub and shower.
