Ivy Bank is a pretty Victorian house built in the 1890's from local slate and retains many of its original features. Within thirty minutes walk from Ivy Bank there are several excellent viewpoints, the lakeshore and tumbling waterfalls. We are situated on a quiet road away from main thoroughfares within a few minutes walk of the all the village facilities. All our bedrooms are en-suite and are provided with a flat screen TV and DVD player, radioalarm clock, hair dryer, a selection of toiletries and hospitality tray. In addition, our 2 larger rooms have a sofa. We have off road parking and safe storage for bikes. Guests staying at Ivy Bank have discounted use of a local leisure club. What are your breakfast options?: We serve traditional cooked breakfast, vegetarian and fish options, cereals, fresh and tinned fruits, yogurts, bread and toast, fruit juices and hot beverages. We will also cater for any special diet given prior notice. Guests can arrive in the dining room any time between 8:00 am and 9:00 am.
What transport is available to get around?: There is a train station in Windermere with a connection to Manchester airport. The Station is a ten minute walk or two minute taxi ride from our bed and breakfast. There is a regular bus service from Windermere to other parts of the Lake District. Buses run every twenty minutes in the summer but less regularly in the winter. Mini bus tours can also be arranged from Ivy bank, with half day or full day tours. You can also walk (20 minutes) or get a taxi down to Lake Windermere and get a boat up or down the lake.
What can I do nearby?: We have aromatherapy, sports and remedial massage is available on site. Nearby there is almost every outdoor activity you can think of. There are also cinemas, restaurants, pubs, shops and some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.
Do you have internet?: Yes we have wireless internet in our rooms and it is free.
Do you provide parking?: We have a car park at the back of our property and there are no parking restrictions on Holly road at the front of our house.
