Where is this hotel? We booked the night before our arrival as we bought U2 tickets at the last minute. Upon reservation "laterooms.com" sent us the confirmation and that the Ivy would be sending us our self check in info via email...well that email never came. We had an address to the apt bldgs however it was not a proper address as they do not publicise it since it since it is self check in and ppl have passcodes etc. 5pm night of the concert we are trying to a)find the apt bldg then b) trying to find an internet cafe to see if the email had finally come then c) trying to call the hotel via skype and getting a "one moment please" message then a hang up. by 6:30 I finally called Laterooms who also tried to call the hotel chain and after numerous hang ups as well spoke to a living person who told them to tell me that we should go to their other apt bldg on the main street in front of Christ Church. It turned out that they had upgraded us to a 2 bedroom flat (which we never needed/wanted since there was just my husband and I) because the bldg where we were scheduled to stay apparently had a flood. Now the amazing thing about the whole experience is that I never got an email explaining what the self check in address, codes or procedures was. Nor did I get one advising me that they had changed our hotel to one that was now a taxi ride from the concert. They kept saying that they had tried calling to no avail and I said of course not it's a Canadian number! I went to the main office the next morning asking for a refund on my taxi receipts as the whole purpose of booking with them was because it was walking distance to the stadium. The manager finally obliged to pay two of the three after a long and drawn out discussion telling me that I had been sent the email which I kept answering back "well why the heck would I put myself through the trouble that I went thru if I had received it?".Please be advised that this is a SELF CHECK IN hotel and if you do not have the codes

Query on Room Type and smoking roomAlthough I did request a twin, when we arrived the main bedroom was made up as a double. We had to call reception to ask housekeeping to change and request extra bedding for the third person on the sofa. We also requested a "smoking" room as advertised on the web site. On arrival the instructions left in the apartment stated that smoking was not permitted anywhere. I would have appreciated knowing this before hand (and the web site should really be updated).

Spacies apartmentWe stayed here with freinds, the apartment was more than spacies for 2 couples and very well located to the city centre. Compared to hotels this worked out very good value for money offering facillities you would not get in a hotel, eg cooker, fridge and dishwasher! If you fly into dublin you can get the 747 bus to the road next to the apartment opposite the hospital

Room GaloreWe stayed at the Ivy Apartments for a 3 night stay in Dublin. We were thrilled with the amount of space, the location, the friendly service, basically everything! For families or groups, the perfect arrangement. We could spread out and relax in our home away from home! The only negative comment we could possibly make would be that the early morning deliveries to the Tesco are quite loud, but being good sleepers, that really was not a problem for us!

Lovely appartment but...in a very noisy location, sirens all night think due to the hospital accross the road and extremely loud music, couldn't decide if a night club was nearby or it was a rowdy resident!Apart from that the apartment was lovely and very close for shopping etc.Taxi drivers stuggle with address and Appartments are not clearly marked - has 'Stay Dublin' written on door and ivy apartment very tiny at bottom of door. Also address is Granby Place not Granby Row which is further along the main road... Had a lovely break away but no sleep!!

dublin VisitApartments are central for city centre but parking is non-existant except for on-street, which can be difficult to find and expensive.Never saw a member of staff, which was OK because they were available on the phone if required. The apartment was OK, nothing special. Everything you might need for a short stay apart from having Wi-fi or an internet connection. As I was there on business this was a big disappointment as I could not work in the apartment in the evening. However if you were there for holiday trip this probabaly wouldn't matter.

DublinArrived after midnight due to delayed flight. Was stuck outside for about 20mins because the code wasn't working on the door. Finally got in and went to my room 188. It was horrible. Drab, badly decorated, no toilet rolls, looked dirty on first sight. I'd also been followed to my room by a drunken man who was also staying in the building. I didn't feel safe staying in the room as the door wasn't secure even though I locked it and the drunken man and the friends he'd been with were making a lot of noiseI called reception and was told they would come up in 15mins to give me another room. I'd previously stayed in the block next door which was okay so I was moved to there. The apartment was so much better although it was missing the hairdryer and even though reception told me they woud bring one up the next morning, they never did. It was also missing a toaster and there were hairs all over the towels so luckily I had a washing machine and was able to wash them the next day before using them, the cutlery was dirty and needed washing. The water was often cold in the evenings when I wanted a bath aswell. There was no WiFi as advertised and the apartment was significantly different to the photos I'd seen on the netI probably would stay here again but I'd request an apartment in the 200s block. Despite it's flaws, it was centrally located and the channels worked on the tele, the washing machine worked, etc.

A good position, pleasant apartments; we didn't actually have any contact with the staff at all. Much larger than we expected, and very good value too. There were a few minor niggles - a couple of spots on the wall that had been inexpertly touched up with paint, and there's no coffee maker, or even a cafetiere, in the kitchen. But otherwise, comfortable and pretty central.

Apartments are modern-ish, which makes them look better than they are. They are nice to stay in but they are not luxury apartments by any means. These are excellent to stay in with a group of friends, to reduce the cost of a trip to Dublin. The location is great, only 2 min walk to Henry street and O'Connell street. It is also good to have more space than a bedroom. The actual apartment finish is not good or maintained. The kitchen is lacking equipment and the pans were horrible. The public areas are fairly poorly kept. Fridge was not cleaned properly, was little bits of food left in the veg trays when I went to put things in them. Beds are not good. I was in a 1 bedroom apartment and had asked for a double bed. We got twin beds shoved together. I would not have minded if they stayed together but they didn't. One of the bed's had huge problems with the springs in the bed and was very uncomfortable. The apartment was not ready in time for check in at 2.30 even though I had met the chamber maid at 12.00 and she knew I was waiting. Stay Dublin reception was very difficult to get hold of when I tried to ring them. Left them voicemail at 12.05 and did not hear back from them at all. Rang several times an hour for 3 hours until I got hold of them. They then asked the chambermaid to do my room, but I feel she should have done it sooner, after all I was waiting and other guests were not arriving until later. Despite this, if i was with a group of friend rather than a partner or family I would stay here again, just adjust your expectation to be realistic.

Ivy Apartments are a really nice place to stay. The young girl who let me in was lovely and couln't have been more helpful(even offered to help carry my bag). The apartment itself has everything you could possibly need whether it be for a night a week or a month.i just think the price may be a lttle expensive, we were lucky cos there were 3 of us.I would definitely recommend Ivy Exchange Apartments to anyone and would happily stay there again.

Very easy to book, place was very spacious and central. Bit noisy outside in morning as the bedrooms overlooked some business that had early morning deliveries which was an early morning wake up call. Would definately stay here again.

Easy to get to but carpark facilities were quite far away. Also there was no reception and no information where to get keys. You then had a complicated system usuing a series of codes to get your key to then go into a different building where your apartment was. My advice is to have someone wait with your bags and bring a pen and paper.

This will be a mixed review because of the circumstances. We booked the night before we travelled and unfortunately we seemed to be a little ahead of the reception desk. The very helpful receptionist struggled to find us an appartment but when we finally were allocated a room we arrived to find it uncleaned from the last occupants. They did try and sort it out, the room was cleaned whilst we were at out in the eveing but it was not the best of starts. The check in procedure is also a bit of a nightmare. You have to find a central check in desk (not easy to locate) in another part of town. We were given a code to get into one building, instructions to get to the second floor to locate a deposit box with a combination lock. We then found the keys to our appartment but it was in another building (another code). If you have travelled a long way, carried bulky suitcases and/or have young children with you then you can imagine this might be fairly irritable. After saying that we would book again, the cleaned appartment was faultless and in an ideal location for visiting Dublin.

The only complaint I would have is that the mattress on the bed was very uncomfortable. Everything else about the apartment was fine, hence my score for quality of room.
