I cannot compare with any other 3 start hotels in Marakkech however, it really was below the standards of a 2 star hotels in Europe. It wasn't very clean either. The staff was very very helpful and friendly though but I imagine it is not any less in other hotels especially as the people in general are incredibly tourist friendly anway. Breakfast was very basic and poor quality - hence I preferred going to cafes/restaurants in the new city with only a 10 dirham taxi ride for decent coffee and something to eat (and also for cleaner air than the the air of the Medina/old city to breath). There wasn't a private balcony as advertised here and the air conditioning wasn't working - though this didn't really bother me and I didn't made an attempt to sort it out as I prefer open windows anyway but the smell of the Medina and the flies was really bad. Being close to the Medina made it easy to discover that colourful old city as a first timer in Marakkech, however if I knew the standards of the hotel and the condition its location I would have preferred another hotel.

I love this hotel, i have stayed there twice, once in aug 2007 and 2nd time in june 2008. Its basic hotel room wise, however its very clean, the staff are friendly, the food in the hotel is good and i really loved the breakfast. The terrace is lovely overlooking the mosque. Would recommend this hotel - the only thing they could improve on is maybe putting fridges in the bedrooms. Air conditioning is good but like i said its basic, nothin luxury but i will definately go there again!!

the taxi driver wanted to charge me 250 (2000 MAD) for a 5 minute taxi drive from the train station but the desk clerk advised me to offer 100 MAD which was accepted. the food was excellent, the location couldn't have been better and the staff helpful. the hotel is in an old building so the room was small and bathroom not remodeled but it was very clean. i am a single woman and i felt safe at all times, even in the evenings when so many people walked the street in front of the hotel. the weather was perfect, sunny but not hot (in march.) the citrus were in bloom and smelled great. only rarely did i get a whiff of sewer smell and that was outside the hotel. it took a few days to find the right place to buy dispos cameras and kleenex.

Overall sate of the hotel was worse than expected. Our stay included hot buffet breakfast but was surprised to see limited choice of cold continental breakfast. We then had to approach staff who eventually provided us with eggs as 'hot breakfast'. Hotel staff however was very helpful.

The hotel was good. The location infront of the Kubiota mosque was perfect for tourist. Although it not like other 3 star hotel, but who stay there will happy. Easy to move around Marrakech.
