short walk to the beach!!!

Close to beach. Breakfast had large variety. Located in a quiet setting. No room for toilet articles in bathroom. Refrigerator was rather beat up. The hotel was conveniently located on the beach. The room was clean, but the bathroom sink was so small that I could barely fit soap and a razor on it. The refrigerator was pretty beat up, and the towels were rather gritty. The continental breakfast was better than most, but it ended at 9:30 am each morning. Basically, the room rates were too high for how nice the room was. If you're going to stay here, bring friends and family, because there's no nightlife and very little to do in town (after the ice cream shop closes). But the lack of nightlife will allow you to go to bed early, so you can get up the next morning in time to go to the Early Bird continental breakfast before it ends at 9:30 am.

Planned on staying at the Islander Inn for two nights (Fri. & Sat.May 16th&17th 2008) Arrived early on Friday afternoon--Checked in with the front desk. (please note: I made the reservation by telephone with a desk clerk in early April for a non-smoking top floor room (not the web site) and was told by the clerk that the room I wanted was available. Upon checking in, the Ass't Mgr. told me my room was a bottom floor smoking room. When I objected to this room and told him that my reservation was for a non-smoking room on the top floor---he told me there was no record for such a room. He was willing to spray some type of deodorizer in the room. I said no because then it would smell like a smoking room with a stinky deodorized smell. He then told me there was no other rooms available because of a wedding. We then left the Inn very upset because there were no other rooms available at the other two motels on the island. Based on our troubles with the Islander Inn's lack of keeping their word on the reservation, I advise you to stay away from this Hotel

When we arrived we were told that Orbitz had overbooked the hotel (they said that was normal) so if we wanted a non-smoking room we had to have a soundside room even though we reserved a nonsmoking oceanside room. They had a smoking room that was oceanside so we begrudgingly took it- but it had a king and a SINGLE pull out.. 4 people. My kids ended up sleeping on the floor because they did not have sheets on the pull out. The pool was filthy and hazy. The only real enjoyable thing was that the hotel was right on the ocean.

I had a wonderful time at the hotel. Everything was so nice. I got to expierence real privacy, and had a very relaxing vacation. The beach was not crowded at all, I even got a few photos of a completely empty beach. I am definatly coming back here, and soon!

This hotel is the best value at Ocean Isle beach. The room was spacious and had a large screen lcd tv. Variety of food was very good. The management does an excellent job of keeping the hotel clean. The architecture is bland beach cottage style, which some people may not like, but compared to other places at Ocean Isle this is the best. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. The common areas are well maintained. My wife and I plan to return next year.

This was this first time my husband and I had been to Ocean Isle Beach and we had a wonderful time. The hotel was directly on the beach and the check in and staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was terrific and they offered a wide variety of food for a continental breakfast. I only had one issue and this had nothing to do with the inn. We went after Labor Day and found that most of the waterfront restaurants were closed Monday -Thursday. Having dinner outside on the waterfront is a big deal for me. We happened to be there the beginning of the week! I would definitely go back, but if it was in September, I'd go at the end of the week.

The view of the ocean from our room was breath taking. The indoor and outdoor pools looked out on the ocean also. The daily breakfasts bar included waffles,sandwiches and all the normal breakfast foods which were part of aminities.. The room was large and had a wetbar. I will deffinitely return.

This was a good hotel to stay at. The staff was friendly. I highly reccommend it.
