It sounds as if the previous comments were written by the hotel staff. The hotel is under renovation. The renovated rooms are pleasant, 4* (European) at best, with nice views of the Nile. Breakfast was simple, due lack of guests. Location central, but right on the main road, so depending on your rooms it can be noisy. Most facilities not available due renovation, or due lack of guests (low season). The rates charged vary immensely, all depending on where you book.

As part of a two week holiday in April 2009 we came across the ISIS Corniche. This is perfectly situated in the heart of the city, immediately alongside the Nile. The rooms are either around a pool or within a landscaped garden. Ask for one with a Nile view as the river really does pass right by your window. The staff are very helpful while the large figure of eight pool offers a welcome break from the heat and is perfect for young children. Highly Recommended.

stay was very enjoyable, staff were very professional and polite... also very helpful - great location, very convenient, very close to the downtown market where u can find lots of great deals; local food just around the corner - facing the Nile River, great view, beautiful sunset to be viewed clearly just sitting by the pool side - resort style hotel, w/ ur own little "hut", makes one feel more privacy

Overall it was OK. It has the best location in Aswan right on the Nile in front of the Cruise Ships. The hotel has a quaint 1970s feel and the staff is nice. The only incident I had was that the door knob in the bathroom malfunctioned. Overall I think the hotel was OK.
