Concierge and staff was helpful. Charged for internet and everything else. Too expensive for what we got. Internet was free in all other places we stayed in Spain. Nickeled and dimed for everything. But the staff was extremely helpful.Restaurant and room extremely expensive.

I think the whole experience at this location was ok..., the hotel looks like it is, a five star category, but the service was terrible, over all. I think I would have been treated better in a three star Hotel than here. Their staff made me feel like they were doing me a favor by staying there, from the front-desk staff to housekeeping members. Although I have to admit that, the rooms were extremely clean. The concierge/front desk staff was not very knowledgeable about what to do and see in the city so I found all the information I needed on my own. The food was too pricey and terrible, bread and pastries were not fresh, so was the meat. Everything tasted like it was a week old, truly. This was not the first time I stayed in an Intercontinental Hotel and I expected a lot from this location, what went wrong? The country, perhaps, or was just me? Anyhow, because of the dreadful experience, I certainly wont stay at any of the Intercontinental Hotel chain anymore;(

Beautiful furnishings. Public transport 1 block away , very comfortable room if you don't want to roam.

Concierge service was outstanding. Entire staff was very service oriented and friendly. Like all public areas in Spain, smoking is permitted in lobby lounges, this hotel is no exception. I would highly recommend this hotel for it's high quality, service, value and location. Would love to visit again.

Location. No pool/rooms were very small. Rooms were small and noisy (no insulation) gym was tiny and no pool! Restaurants and bar were good. Concierge desk was excellent.

Nice location on a main street where buses and metro are easy to access. Beautiful lobby. The room was very small. The view was of an uninspiring garden. For 5 stars I would have expected a much more extravagant room.

Liked the fact everyone spoke English and service was prompt and exceeds expectations. The rooms look very dull and small, very closure phobic. While the location is great, it is mostly for business travelers as there is nothing open at night time. The room were small, with very old linings, and dull furniture. It does not deserve the 5 star ratings. The 3 star boutique hotels in the area were much better and included free WiFi. I would not recommend this hotel for romantic and leisure stay, but would recommend for a business visit.

Very helpful staff. Tough to get a cab, given where it is located. The hotel experience was very good. Welcomed warmly, checked in efficiently. Given good assistance from the concierge.

Clean and luxurious. Club Intercontinental is a plus. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Some rooms are small. Not as well located to downtown and event centers.

Nice room and spacious. Balcony was a plus. Expensive for Madrid, no internet or breakfast included. Hotel was nice. Staf and concierge were very helpful.

The rooms were well appointed. The location was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very expensive, but probably consistent with the expectations of a five star hotel. We ended our trip to Spain with two nights at the intercontinental. This was a luxurious splurge for us. The location was perfect for us, as it was near our daughter's apartment, close to the metro and a short taxi ride from many of the key Madrid attractions.

The room had every amenity imaginable. Room was very small (as is typical in Spain) and instead of a king we had two single beds pushed together (with a significant gap between them!). The Intercontinental was beautiful. Our room was very nice, however rather than a king bed we had two singles that were pushed together with a rather large gap between the two beds that no amount of pushing together could get rid of, the hotel is reasonably near the metro which makes up for its not being quite within walking distance of the major Madrid attractions. Beware the exorbitant minibar prices and the very pricey restaurant. The concierge was very helpful as well. Upon returning home, some confusion over our bill has arisen, but customer care is very helpful and I expect a positive resolution.

Overall quality and location. Very small room yet I was upgraded as being ambassador. I liked and enjoyed my stay but the rate is expensive compared to other options available.

It was pristine. Could have been located closer to major tourist attractions. Excellent hotel in all categories.

Beds are very comfortable. Hotel well located. Morning buffet delicious. My room was next to the lifts, not recommendable.

Beautiful hotel and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Not as centrally located to tourist attractions but manageable. Beautiful hotel that seems to cater to the business traveler. Not as centrally located to tourist attractions but still convenient as the metro and buses are about a block away. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu selections for room services and the bar are quite expensive though.
